basilico: As your Trump hatred makes you pray for the Ayatollahs to get a nuclear bomb ,don't forget to pray for this beautiful 19 year old girl. She is someone's daughter.
Iran’s Savage Regime Sentences 19-Year-Old Girl to Public Execution for Protesting
The bloodthirsty mullahs ruling Iran are showing their true colors once again. Nineteen-year-old Saghar Gholami from Gonbad-e Kavus in Golestan Province now faces imminent public hanging after a sham trial.
Arrested in early February 2026 for taking part in January’s nationwide protests, she has been denied a lawyer, cut off from her family, and given no clear charges. This is not justice. It is pure terror designed to silence anyone who dares challenge the Islamic Republic’s iron grip.
The regime executed at least 1,639 people in 2025 alone, the highest number in decades, with dozens of women among the victims.
Sources: Visegrád 24 report on X, April 13, 2026 Iran Political Prisoners documentation, April 2026 Iran Human Rights and Together Against the Death Penalty joint report on 2025 executions Amnesty International and related human rights updates on Iran’s protest crackdowns + This is sad, and here is where nuance is key. You assume everyone against Trump's war loves the Ayatollahs. You should know better. But while we are at it, do u want to compare who has murdered more people across the globe between the Ayatollahs and the United States? Dont even go there because the USA has killed millions of people since the second world war in its blood thirsty imperialistic wars alone. This does not take account of the many covert CIA assassinations worldwide. No dictatorship, including Iran comes even remotely close. |

And attempting too aggressively to do so can lead one towards madness. As an aside, since you mention "bashing liberals" I think its good to keep in mind the fact that the world is not black and white - not liberal and conservative - rather it is infinite shades and blends of all things. |

basilico: In that case it's easier to say that God is the creator, and creation is an ongoing process that didn't take seven days . + This works for me. If one sees creation as the emanation of Light from an eternal source, then creation continues forever. Much easier than raking your head over why evolution can't explain everything...... Or Jesus was just an ordinary man..... Just my opinion + What is easier is not necessarily what is true. |

basilico: All those are your opinions , everyone is free to believe whatever. You may as well argue that his disciples didn't see miracles like feeding 5000, raising the dead, walking on water, stopping storms ,healing the sick etc . They were hypnotized.
You can also argue that Paul formerly Saul was able to open more churches than Jesus disciples because he was a Roman citizen who was free to travel to every part of the Roman empire. Not because of his beliefs and faith
You are free to believe anything. You won't be the first neither the last. + You are also free to believe anything. You too will certainly not be the first nor the last. After all there is no dearth of people who believe that various men are God. You may have heard of Olumba Olumba Obu and his followership for example. You can also go ahead and say God didn't create you, + Though I believe that an eternal element I call God is the incomprehensible source of all things, I doubt that God directly created this material world. in another million years there will be a new generation of primates who will have evolved into homo sapiens. Evolution of the primates didn't suddenly stop with homo sapiens . + This is indeed a fair point, whether you are being sarcastic or not. |

basilico: The disciples were all brutally executed for refusing to renounce Jesus At least 9 of them who were witness to his death and Resurrection. The threat of death couldn't force them to stop preaching. Their death fits into your theory Jesus was disruptive like chasing out money changers in a temple? + I don't know if you are making the familiar argument that the disciples willingness to die is evidence that Jesus truly was divine and resurrected. If you are, I don't support that argument because the same is true for many charismatic sect leaders. One can certainly remember a number of cult groups who subscribed to mass suicide for example. However to be clear, Jesus remains one of my favourite people in many ways, certainly as a messenger from the Light. His teachings were elevated, high minded and profound and I would say he is rightly called the Prince of Peace. I simply don't believe the myths about him such as that he was born of a virgin (a common myth ascribed to many spiritual or mythical figures) or that he was God or the only begotten son of God (another common myth ascribed to many) or that he died for our sins or resurrected from the dead. I believe he was a man and that he taught elevated moral principles for an elevated spiritual life. This however is only if he actually existed as portrayed in the gospels which is questionable. I think there is a strong possibility that what is portrayed may be a composite of several people and ideas. |

basilico: deepsight mtiaz Mahmood @ImtiazMadmood Brescia imam: “In our Islam, after age 9, a girl becomes a woman.”
An “Italian” imam named Ali Kashif went on TV and announced that girls who have reached nine years of age may be considered women, and are appropriate marriage material. The Italian government reacted in an sensible manner and expelled him from the country, putting him on a flight to his native Pakistan.
These words, spoken by the Brescia imam Ali Kashif into the microphones of the program “Out of the box”, have earned him expulsion from the country. It was the Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi who made the notification.
Subsequent to the expulsion order, he was placed on a flight from Milan’s Malpensa Airport and sent back to his country of origin.”Originally from Pakistan, Kashif had emphasized the legitimacy, according to the Koran, of marriage with young girls: “
The Islamic religion says that if the parents are happy and both are in agreement, they can marry even at the age of 9. In our Islam, after 9 years, a girl becomes an adult. In the Koran, it says that it can be done.”
The order was carried out by the police headquarters of Brescia on the instruction of the Ministry of Interior, which made the decision, citing reasons of security, the lack of a residence permit of the person in question, and his incompatibility with constitutional values.
From Fratelli d’Italia [Brothers of Italy, the party of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni], Member of Parliament Riccardo De Corato expressed “full support for the measure” in the face of “very serious statements”, to which the State must react “with firmness and without any hesitation”. And he added:
“Whoever thinks they can, in our country, justify barbaric practices, contrary to the dignity of the individual, the rights of minors, and fundamental principles of our legal system, needs to know that in Italy there is no room for fanaticism, for extremism, and for whoever disseminates messages incompatible with our legal system. + Why do you address this to me? |

raumdeuter: If the court after hearing all sides says he is not guilty then I will vote for him + I said let go on a technicality, even when guilty. Don't you know what a technicality is? Let me help you. In some jurisdictions, illegally procured evidence is not admissible. So lets say police searched a suspect's house without a warrant and found iron clad evidence that he is a mass murderer. However since they had no search warrant, the evidence is not accepted and he is let go. Thats an example. In fact, he proceeds afterwards to confess. But based on another rule, the rule against double jeopardy, he cannot be tried again. There you go. I have given you a scenario where a guilty man is freed on technicalities, since you want to duck the question. In this scenario would you vote such a man if his policies improve your life? |

-Hezbollah was created to fight against Israeli incursion and theft of Lebanese land
-Al Qaeda is an offshoot of the Mujahedeen funded by the US against the USSR
-ISIS was created and funded by the US and Israel to disloge Syria's Assad.
The total population of armed "jihadists" worldwide out of more than 2 billion Muslims is estimated at 0.0066%, far less than 0.1%, a highly negligible number.
87% of terrorist attacks are in Muslim majority countries against the locals, police/military, and politicians.
But the entire US government has so far killed more than 38 million people since the second world war, the vast majority being Muslim civilians all over the middle east. And you expect these people to nor harbor hateful sentiments against the US and its allies?
None of you has brought forth any evidence how any of these countries are a national threat to the US or NATO. You simply accept the US labeling of anyone they disagree with as a terrorist or rogue and proceed to bomb and kill them. When did the UN or the world decide that only the US, NATO, or Israel can decide who's a terrorist? During WW2, the Germans considered the French Resistance, whose country they invaded, as terrorists. They also called the Warsaw Uprising terrorism.
The European imperialists called African resistance against colonialism similar terms to terrorism, as did the English against the new-found colonies in America.
One man's freedom fighter is another one's terrorist. + You deserve an award for this write up. Lucid, clear and sensible. These same Western powers labelled Nelson Mandela a terrorist and the USA had him on their terrorism watchlist up till 2008. |
