It's sad. Really depressing!

Corruption and indiscipline are issues quite common in every society. They are issues troubling every single nation or state.

But the corruption and indiscipline here in Nigeria is alien to commonsense and history. Corruption is the main problem facing us as a nation. It has pervaded every fabric and strata of our society. It smells at Aso Rock. It smells at the over bloated NASS. It's unchecked in the Judiciary. Nigeria is corruption!!!!

But it's perhaps worse amongst the masses.

Below are some common ways we have contributed to this monster of corruption and indiscipline:

* we don't oppose our corrupt leaders.
* we don't obey traffic rules
* we keep paying our bills without steady power
*we embrace ethnicity and religion to the detriment of our own progress
*most of us don't even have a copy of our Constitution.
* we throw dirts on our own roads
*we engage in jungle justice. ...mob action
*we are fraudulent in our little ways.....etc.

These are just a few. There are many other ways we have helped and emboldened our oppressors.

It takes corrupt masses to have corrupt rulers. Our rulers reflect the kind of people we are. Every people deserve their own government.

If we must progress, then we must be thorns to our looters. We must be clogs in their looting wheel. We can't be loyal to our oppressors.

How do we achieve that? By changing our ways. We must convert those prayers into righteous actions. God will NEVER buildiNigeria. That's our duty.

The most annoying aspect is the consistent & sit-tight spirit most of them have attached to the legislative seat,where they don't even want to give younger aspirants a chance to equally exercise their mandate.Most of them have been legislators since 1999.Wondering if d seat has become a permanent one.

Why wouldn't they seat tight there? There are myriads of stupendous allowances and pecks occasioned by their being there.

To make matters worse, we have never opposed them.

The Nigerian youths are a major part of the problem of this nation. We waste our precious time fighting one another instead of uniting into a body to have a showdown with our enemies.

Every single meaningful thread created here will eventually degenerate into hate and division.

The Nigerian youths are more than enough to shake this nation for good. Instead we are wasting lives dancing Azonto and Kukere, while our commonwealth is been looted mercilessly.

Now that we know they receive such huge salaries what are we going to do about it?

The only way our Nigeria can be secured from these leeches is to engage these thieves headlong.

Are we willing to risk our lives for a better future? Every great nation today paid some price for them to be where they are today.

These gigantic salaries of these thieves are determined by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission. Hence their fat salaries are legal.

Let me quote Section 70 of our Constitution:

A member of the Senate and the House of Representatives shall receive such salaries and other allowances as the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission may determine...

If we are willing to stake our lives for change, we shall have the change we crave.

Day in day out, Nigerians troop to churches calling on God to fight their enemies, to destroy them with fire and bring confusion among them.

We don't even know what we need.

To have paid more attention to OBJ than his message is to be pathetic.

The greatest waste pipe in our nation is the national assembly.

Despite the veracity in his words, almost all comments above me are critical of the former president.

Reason: People pay more attention to what we do than what we say!!!

As long as Obasanjo didn't perform satisfactorily his tenure as president, he lacks the moral justification to cast aspersions on others.

Be that as it may, these overfed thieves in the hollow chambers are really a clog in our wheel of progress.

There's nothing more insulting to us that these thieves having shrouded their humongous salaries in secrecy.

Autonomy for LGAs is good but it will make no difference with the present level of curruption in Nigeria.

LG boss in all APC controlled state were been nominated by tinubu and they are made to part with N1 million naira each every month now given them full authonomy to the LG might increase the amount. As fash we all know that fash have been deeping his hands into LG allocation for its own personal gain and that is why he sent a bill to the state house of assembly to abolish LG election in lagos state rather it will be by appointment of dummies as the LG boss

true federalism requires autonomy for local councils and it allows for active participation of the grassroots in politics. The APC refused local govt autonomy in the last National conference.

LG autonomy is long overdue. We need government at the grassroots.

A couple of hours ago, I read on vanguard where Hon Tambuwal said there's no going back on LG autonomy. I echo his sentiments.

The LG which was created in order to bring government closer to the people, has been hijacked by our state governors, thereby depriving the people the benefits that they should derive thereby.

In your opinion, should NASS grant autonomy to our LG?
