Ebonyi is leading South East in development and giving other states in Nigeria a good run for their money. Kudos to the Governor for focusing on development rather than play ethnic politics and using religion to distract the citizens and cover up for their ineptitude.

Well, the first step will be to reduce the number of law makers breakers in the legislature.

Those guys are practically doing nothing to earn the billions they are being paid.

I will also champion massive sensitisation and re-orientation. Virtues like truth, honesty and contentment must be inculcated in the lives of the upcoming generations because this present generation is a lost cause.
But can you provide the relevant section of the constitution that empowers the President to do that? The simple answer is, there is none.

Thank God you know this. But the question remains, why are you yorubas so bent on causing division in the south?
Why are you making threads every day just to paint the Igbos in bad colours?

Why is it that when ever there's matter concerning Kanu, Wike, Asari Dokuboh Edwin Clark, you yorubas are always the ones, the first to to crucify them, even gej and his wife, PEJ?!

Have you ever seen northerners making threads every day condemning and crucifying fellow northerners no matter how bad they are?

Have you ever seen northerners making threads on Abacha, IBB,abdusalam, buhari,...even Shekau?
How many northerners opened thread in dollar man, Ganduje?

But mention ngozi Iweala or Stella Oduah now, you people will be the first to insult, condemn and attack them!!!!

Sure, power should come to the south come 2023 and it ain't supposed to be a big deal cos naturally and rightly,it should go to the east or worst case, SS. But isn't the same tinubu that destroyed the south and Niger Delta chance 2014 rearing to run come 2023?

See,we other south are not like you guys,we will never contest with tinubu if he wants to run...we will never contest with our fellow southerner as our fellow southerner should not contest with us what is rightly our turn.
We will back out and support the stranger from the north. Simple.

But I hope and pray that shouldn't be the case. Good night
Its okay . The same way our Yoruba people attacks GEJ, Wike , Obi. Atiku etc is the same way they attack Obasanjo, Osinbajo, Makinde, Fayose, or even Tinubu. Nothing personal. People are just expressing their views base on how they perceive things. Atiku contested against Buhari, and they are both Northerners. Falae contested against Obasanjo, so no big deal.
As for 2023, any southerner is free to contest and may the best candidate win. There will be a primaries in both popular parties. And if anybody from the south decides to vote for a Northerner, then no problem. We will not hold any grudge. We have been in opposition for so many years, so nothing to be afraid of there. It's a political contest, not a war.

Good night my sister.

For God's sake,of what use,of what relevance is that today,if at all it's even true?

We can keep dancing while the north continue to ride on horses.

If you people want the south to remain divided,no problem.
The north can continue to rule.

And fyi,I'm not Igbo,I'm just a concerned southerner from the SS.
See, as long as there is a Nigeria under a democracy, power will continue to rate between the South and the North.
The Fourth republic, started in 1999 with OBJ becoming the President for 8 years. Jonathan spend 5-1/2 years. All together close to 14 years. By 2023, when power is expected to return to the South after Buhari, it would have been 24 years of democracy out of which 13.5 yrs was South and 10.5 yrs for the North. How we organise ourselves in the South is up to us. Ijaw, Yoruba, Igbo etc. The North too is as diverse as the south as they have different tribes.

Awo did. He offered to become Deputy Prime Minister or Finance Minister under Zik. Do you have any record to the contrary? Zik prefered alliance with NPC.

Who has time to respond to the trash written by the misguided Yoruba element.

He claimed that Zik and NCNC came first because according to him they had the highest number of popular votes.

He must be thinking his readers are half-wits...Were we supposed to consider the popular votes or the parliamentary seats which matter in the real scheme of things?

A person with half a brain would have dwelt on why the NPC had more legislative seats while garnering less popular votes...

He chose not to face the existential issues but went to town with a subjective narrative that became stillbirth when viewed through logical prisms...

You think we are still in the past when you exploited your dominance of mainstream media to promote slanted and largely mendacious narratives?

We are in the era of the internet...we shall always meet you head on to refute your slew of crass verbiage...
A yes or no answer could have sufficed. Balewa nor Zik or Awo could not form Govt. It requires two of them to do it. Zik chose to form alliance with NPC instead of Awo. That is a fact.

How to Become an Entrepreneur

Alim Abubakre

Are you bored with your work or have just been furloughed? Do you wish to control your own time? Do you have a dream to start a business, employ people, deliver services, and make a positive impact on society, particularly in these unprecedented times?

But do you also feel intimidated and your thoughts shrouded by these fears:

• The fear of rejection: “Your idea is too small, leave business for the geniuses.”

• The fear of inadequacy: “Who are you; you can’t do it; business is not for people with low capital and limited connections.”

• The fear of being judged: “Business is not in your family blood, don’t even start dreaming.”

• The fear of failure: “What if I run out of capital and fail?”

Well, let me assure you that entrepreneurship is a skill that can be acquired by anyone. You don’t have to be a superstar to become a businessperson.

The Journey to Becoming an Entrepreneur
The journey to entrepreneurship starts with YOU. No one is going to fight your fears for you. You must confidently confront them and be decisive as you declare: Now is the time to start my business journey. If you can, I will advise that you save up a year’s worth of your living expense and set aside some investment. This would come handy on the proverbial rainy day. Waste no time anymore. Wake up, stand up, and let your business ideas start taking a practical, tangible form. This article gives you five factors you must consider if you want to become an entrepreneur and succeed at it.

The Idea
Have you ever wondered whether the ideas that you are passionate about are too small and can’t be developed into a thriving business? Based on my personal experience, please allow me to mention that there is nothing in entrepreneurship or politics or any other field for that matter called “small idea”. Former Prime Minister of Britain, Winston Churchill, once said: “No idea is so outlandish that it should not be considered with a searching but at the same time, a steady eye.” You need a steady eye to get your evolving idea on the path to a successful business. For example, one of the world’s renowned businessman, Richard Branson started Virgin Airlines after he was stuck at an airport in Puerto Rico on his way to the Virgin Islands. With fewer passengers going to that destination, the flight was cancelled. This inconvenience birthed a business idea in Richard Branson’s mind. He saw an opportunity to start an airline that would also fly to the Virgin Islands. Thus the birth of Virgin Airlines. So, never underestimate the power of your ideas, especially when inspired by life experiences/problems. Any well-thought-out business idea that addresses societal issues, fine-tuned value proposition, clearly stated unique selling points and spiced up with focus and determination could produce impressive results.

The Starting Point
Just imagine: after she gives birth, a new mother has no parenting manual. How does she begin taking care of her child? She starts by trying, fumbling, and learning along the way. The same goes for starting a business. The best way is not to shun the emerging idea but to start, fall, rise, and from the lessons learned, become better. Your aim should be to establish a venture even when you don’t have all the components at a go. The best way to start is by selling your idea to people that you trust to support you. Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, had no cash and no clients when he established Apple. What he did next is a beautiful example you can learn from:

a) He persuaded a local computer shop with payment on delivery to order his non-existent Apple computers.
b) Using the order he just got as evidence that he could pay, Steve jobs persuaded a dealer in computer parts to sell him the components he required to start his work.
c) Jobs and a small team worked on building the first Apple PCs in their garage, delivering them on time and making a smooth profit.
d) Apple had been born out of nothing.

One could contend that the complex, volatile, and ambiguous socioeconomic environment in Nigeria may make it almost impossible for a Steve Job to succeed in Nigeria. Nevertheless, there are still many Femis, Ngozis and Razaqs today who are doing well in their business in the nation.

Scale the Heights
Keep in mind that no business can develop on an indefinite basis. Most companies are more effective in different sizes and stages of the firm. For example, if you desire to establish a big food business, you may realize that starting a four-person restaurant is relatively easier. However, building a large-scale catering business may be more difficult. If your long-term goal is to be big, your strategy could be to start small, then expand later.

Seek help
Build a team even if it means having freelance accountant, human resource advisors, sales personnel and IT consultants, some of whom may come free from peers, friends and family. Get an advisory board-This would be a group of experienced non-competing professionals who can help with; ideas, challenging assumptions and make you accountable, shape strategy, motivate and share contacts.

… And Finally
Skill and tenacity are significant factors that will help you drive safely on the journey of entrepreneurship. To build the requisite skills, you need to come up with a continuous personal development plan. This personal development plan would entail an honest assessment of your strengths and weaknesses as well as how to leverage your strengths to address your limitations. A development plan of how to improve, for example, your conceptual, digital, communication or networking skills should have a timeline, say six months, and a to-do list. For instance, in the next six months, you may need to read more, watch more relevant videos, attend some training and look for a mentor. Here are eleven areas that you could consider setting up a business: 1. Telemedicine 2. IT 3. Health care, 4. Education 5. Renewable energy 6. Supply chain 7. Arts & Entertainment 8. Security 9. Fashion 10. Agricultural value chain 11.Fin Tech. Good luck!

2020 UTME: Southeast states lead in malpractices as JAMB indicts 195 candidates

Suspended cbt centres

Southeastern states have topped the list of 195 candidates indicted for exam malpractice across the country during the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exams (UTME).

On Monday, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had published the names of the indicted candidates on its weekly bulletin as well as their infractions and the states wherein they sat for exams.

While a total of 1,945,983 candidates wrote the UTME in the year under review, JAMB stated that cases of misconduct were reported across 30 states of the federation including Abuja.

An analysis of the publication showed that states in Southeastern Nigeria, including Anambra and Imo topped JAMB’s misconduct list with 16 and 28 indicted candidates respectively.

Other enlisted states in the zone are Enugu, where a total of 15 candidates accused of misconduct had written their exams; Abia, with nine reported cases; and Eboyin with three recorded culprits.

These figures leave the southeast geopolitical zone accounting for a combined 71 candidates, a figure which represents 36.4 percent of the total 195 indicted by JAMB for the year 2020.

With Gombe, Sokoto, Adamawa, and Yobe state reporting only one case each, JAMB’s report also shows that malpractices were more predominant in the south than northern Nigeria.

While northwest and north-central accounted for 36 (18.5%) and 30 cases (15.4 %), the south-south, southwest, and northeast had 26 (13.3 %), 23 (11.8 %), and 9 cases (4.6 %) respectively.

However, worthy of note is that Katsina, Bayelsa, Kebbi, Niger, Zamfara, and Taraba were said to have reported no cases at all as Benue, Delta and Kogi states recorded two culprits each.

JAMB’s report also shows that the offenses for which the said candidates were found culpable span exam by proxy, connivance to cheat, smuggling of electronic devices including smartphones.

Others are unruly behaviour, double registration, tampering with examination documents, forceful entrance into exam halls as well as the faking of vital credentials required to sit for UTME.

Of these infractions, candidates who indulged in taking their UTME by proxy appeared to have dominated the list, with 89 candidates out of the 195 found wanting for this alone.

Closely following is connivance to cheat, which contributed to 26 of the indicted candidates; attempting to cheat, for which 24 were nabbed; and smuggling of mobile phones, which scored 23 candidates.

JAMB had initially stated that it handed 180 UTME candidates to police authorities for prosecution over alleged malpractices but the figure would later increase after investigations.

The board also suspended 47 registration centres across the country and threatened to prosecute 38 owners of accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) centres in a bid to fight various malpractices.

The PDP is Igbo surest way to the presidency
The other party is a party of tribal Lords, ethnic and religious bigotry,a and godfatherism
But it's better they stick and fight for self determination and federalism
The Yorubas have had, obasanjo twice, shonekan, and VP osinbajo, how has it made the Yorubas to fared better
The north has always been in power, does it reflects on the ordinary masses in the North, the answer is no
So agitating for presidency to come from a region is just working for the ambition of someone, someone who may not care about you
Best option is working for a political arrangement that will compel the leaders to work for the people,as it was during the first republic because of the healthy competition amongst the federating units
After 24 years? PDP is Igbo surest way to the Presidency? When will it be Igbo turn in PDP? 100 years? 150 yrs? Well if Igbos group and so many Igbos are not agitating for the presidency, no one will be talking about it. Moreso we have so many other ethnic groups like Nupe, Igala, Benin etc and nobody is discussing Presidency about them. Yes Presidency may not attract much to your zone, but yet people aspire to lead.

I swear, this write up has no relevance or value to our present day situation period. This kid of thinking is the prime reason why the Yorubas have remained the brown roof republic.

Can you imagine, if the Singaporeans dwell on writing ancient history about Malaysia, where will they be today?.

The Koreans fought a civil war in the late 50s, got divided between North & South, but there is no single brown roof today in that modern country. I can go on and on with other examples.

Yoruba, please leave ancient history & seek to transform yourself into a modern society through any kind of restructuring away from the past or seek total freedom through Your own Oduduwa and encourage others around you who are backward and untransforming to seek the same.

"Same Tory from generation to generation".
Some of the brown roofs were actually people's heritage. The children of the owners have gone ahead to build new and modern houses in new parts of the city. They can afford it because they have large expanse of land.
