berem: can't you be sincere with your comments for once? what has ACN got to do with the vandalism of PHCN transformers? Is Lagos the only state where vandalism takes place?I don't know where you are driving at but you should try and reduce this malicious attitude of yours towards non pdp states.
You still need to understand the complaint very well. You will agree that lagos, when compared with other states is where very high number of complaints of lack of improved power supply is. Going by the confession of vandals made by the district phcn man, especially considering the fact that lagos is not pdp state, he is right to accuse the acn since the confession is from acn state. lagos is clearly against jona, if the truth should be told. It is not just a matter of being partisian but the truth of it all.

SMH4U.... undecided
There are only few people whose comments can be regarded as jokes. People like el rufai etc. is known as those who talks from both sides of their mouth just for the fact that they are not offered appointment, for losing elections etc. Nothing should be regarded as jokes from this type of man. Take Bakare for instance, would you ever take whatever comes from him as joke? No way. These are people who can almost go any length to recover justice even if it is not morally right to do so, provided they have the means.

Why should government embark on an exercise and its monitoring will prove difficult? Isn't the @Op protesting with this thread and that of the Vanguard link I gave? Well, I am not surprised cos I know you to always fawn on GEJ.
I don't need GEJ to run my home for me other than doing what he was elected to do and getting it "right", only an harebrained schizo like you would!

PapaBrowne: I remember when GSM came to Nigeria. You call a number 20 times before it connects. But today you can call 100 times before it messes up.
I remember when internet first came to the world, checking mail was as slow as a snail. Today we watch live TV.
I remember when TVs first came to planet earth. They weren't flat screens but huge big boxes with black and white pictures.
I remember the first day I first saw a camera phone, it was like WOOOW. To think that it wasn't even a smartphone...
I remember the first day I tried to drive. I thought it was impossible. But today I probably can run a LORRY.

The moral is simple. The most important thing is to start. And then grow and grow and grow and grow!!
We have started. Slow and dastardly as it seems. We have started. Tommorow, or next year or a decade from now, we would have moved up the ladder and the trains would be faster. Our rail tracks that were ignored by all the past administrations have started moving again.
Even if the trains are slow for passengers, 21 hrs is not out of place for goods that previously ran on lorries.

Slowly and steadily, transformation is taking place... from Airports to Roads to Seaports to Railways... the evidence is made clearer by the fact that previous governments ignored all these things for decades!

I will end with the fact that while China is building SuperSonic railway systems, America and Europe that we love to reference are not able to do same because the cost requirements are enormous. Nigeria is not a rich country. Oil money is peanuts and would never build is speed trains.
There is a place and time for everything. We must start somewhere. If we dont start here, we will never start.
super. How i wish your types are many in nigerian! Wishing that you will continue to provide more of this. Keep educating the foolish ones (haters) among us. some days, they may change for the better. Highly educative and instructive.

Eko Ile: Goodluck Jonathan's Administration is now the most corrupt in the history of Nigeria. Look at this analysis:

ANALYSIS

Crude oil production per day 2.5 million

Current price per Barrel 113 US dollars

Daily oil revenue 2.5 x 113 = 282.5 million US dollars

Monthly Sales 282.5 million X 30 days = 8.475 billion

Yearly Sales 8.4475 billion X 12 = 101.7 billion US dollars

Naira equivalent 101.7 billion X 160 naira = 16.272 trillion naira per year

Nigeria's Budget for 2012 = 4.5 trillion naira

Surplus money 16.272

- 4.5

11.772 trillion naira

So, Goodluck Jonathan answers this question: Where is the surplus money of 11.772 trillion naira every year?

The question is: what is Goodluck Jonathan doing to stop this day light burglary of public trust and looting of public treasury by his cronies, allies, friends, and acquaintances? I rest my biro-pen for now.

You definitely requires more hard hits on your block head. I doubt if you understand what is known as Joint Venture in the oil business. Need not to explain since your level in this area is DAMN too low for proper understanding. Just ask others to explain and then further compare it to your workings above.
What is real wrong with people like you? The writer or contributor has it made simpler and has given you sites to visit, yet you just choose to look other side. What will it profit you to hate a hard working president such as jonah? Please bear in mind that there is another day after today. Jonah will leave after 2019, so whatever his administrations has cause you, probably by way of not offering you appointment, maybe your uncle, or your personal persons may have loose elections due to non acceptance by your poeple, whatever the issue is to you that you decided to misled majority of nigerians who like you upstairs with highly fabricated mathmatics or whoever you may call it. you are simply a wrong individual!
See what hate has turned you to. So because oil price is $113 per barrel, government gets $113 dollars for every barrel of crude mined? Have you subtracted the cost of production of a barrel of crude? Have you subtracted cost of sales? How many percent of the revenue so derived is due to the joint venture partners who operate the various mining leases? It is people like you that misinform the ill educated and ignorant ones.

In case you don't know, government only charges a percentage of the profit from sale of crude oil as tax from the oil companies operating in the upstream sector and the companies keep what is left.
How i wish it is possible to reach you. ypzilanti: Let me ask you this question: At what point did the people who voted for Jonathan become the people who hate Jonathan. I did not vote for him, but many of his critics on NL and those I know personally did. People are dissillusioned with his pace of work and his penchant for awarding frivolous sums to himself and his crew for rubbish. They are also not pleased with his hands off approach to corruption. Those are the issues. GEJ should address the issues to improve his popularity and stop chasing shadows. as things are, he already lost 50% of those who voted for him in 2011.
Your comments has indicated how low your reasoning level is. You are blaming and complaining about a persons you did not vote for. Now, what has come over you that you are complaining since you did not vote for him because you knew he will make a bad leader! Honestly you and your likes should attend some medical centre for proper brain examination. If you had voted in his favour, then it is different issue. taharqa: Just watched the programme Now and am DISGUSTED at the extremely 'bad Journalism' that she put together in that short clip.

She gathered just 3 persons in Lagos and asked them to say something about their power supply, and all of them said that power had not increased and that they had not had light for 3 weeks!!! Those are the views of an average Nigerian, right? *smh*.

I stay in Benin and Power has improved on my end for many many months now except for some few times when there are National issues, like last Friday till Wednesday this week when we had a terrible supply probably cos of the new Benin-Onitsha Transmission Line repairs. THIS IS FACT.

Amanpour just behaved as badly as that other CNN presenter (the Kenya Guy- I have forgotten his name) who presented an extremely wrong programme on the Niger Delta crisis some years ago, and just like this programme also gathered FAKE persons to conduct his interviews. Nigeria protested, He was SACKED and that ended his International career. She ought to know better.
bros., don't worry about nigeria issues. The level we are now is good for every nigerian. People are talking of an interview in lagos, where you can find majority of the haters and some people think any interview or whatever that is done in lagos will ever favour jonah! Never. It is no difference asking Bakare, obasanjo or any lagosian questions about this administration. it is like asking Atuku community about jona!
@Berem.Looking at the bolded part in your comment which is the primary reason for your hatred on GEJ, now i want to ask you how many of these Nigerians cared to speak out when our past leaders kept implementing policies that meant to demote igbos from main stream of Nigeria politics and other affairs? When shall we igbos stop acting to be the only detrabalized Nigerians? Are you saying you are not happy that GEJ is using his position to change most of the policies our past leaders had used to weak igbos from rising. Our forefathers have used this nonsensical method of one Nigeria mindset and it back fired on us, how long shall it take us to learn.GEJ is not the best, he is dull, slow, clueless or whatever you or anyone may say but GEJ is smarter than you all, he knows what he is doing.

I doubt if any yoruba person can criticize OBJ if his priorities was bent on righting the wrong melted against the yoruba nation, same thing applies to the northerners, it is only we igbos that never support ours at the end of the day this same Nigerians will say igbos are not united, yes they are right we are not united because many of us refused to bent our minds on tribalism just like them. But honestly that our attitude is not paying us hence we need to change it.

If your hatred on GEJ is because you care so much for other Nigerians then you can go on and hate him that is your view and opinion which you are entitle to,as for me i and my family will continue singing GEJ praises as long as he is able to change those policies that had been use as weapon against my people i am careless about other things he is not getting right.
But try not to open up too much. Sincere 9gerian: The truth is that federal govt projects are usually spread apart, such that except you look out for them you may think nothing is happening. This is unlike state govt who may become messiah after tarring 3 or more 2centimetre long inner city roads.

For want of time, let me quickly list the ones I can remember now.

In Anambra state:

1) re-construction and expansion of Bridge-head to upper Iweka section of the Enugu-Onitsha express road

2) completion of the Onitsha-Owerri road

3) building of Onitsha inland port (N4 billion worth project)

4) building of federal secretariat- still ongoing, to be completed this yr

5) building of Zik Mausoleum

6) Supporting the state govt all the way until the state became an all producing state. Definitely, an OBJ in Aso would have found a way of killing or delaying that project.

7) Provision of huge funds for infrastructural upgrade of the state university- Anambra state university. It was one of the 12 universities that recieved N25 billion intervention fund late last yr.

There's are some intra-state roads, erosion control sites, etc that are also ongoing. More may be added to the list later

The ones I can remember in Enugu state for now include:

1) The improved power supply. I'm a living testimony of this achievement. In fact na dis one sweet my belle pass

2) The Enugu-Abia-PH-North rail line: still ongoing

3) The Enugu-PH road is being made motorable. The section from Enugu down was already completed the last time I travelled on the road. The return section was still ongoing then. Many other FG roads recieved similar attention under "operation safe passage".

As I remember more projects, I'll them to the list
Some of these deviants you are bush educating does not even know the difference between Federal Government and family settings. All they want is jonah should perform miracle by turning himself to be director, chairman of shell, chevron and other multinationals, turn himself to Billgate and employ them, their children, their community members. infact, want them to be fed by buying them garrs, meat, fuel they vehicles.
