Next of kin doesn't have to be your wife or husband, it should be someone reliable and dependable that you trust enough to handle affairs smoothly and fairly in your absence. If your spouse is mean and wicked to your family or their family and you know that you would like a certain amount of help to be offered to those family members when you are gone, then it will be wise to pick someone reliable to give the role to.
People should think we'll before picking a next of kin.
The person should be a neutral person who will handle and care for the things you love just the same way it would have been when you were there.

I get your point. He would have done a better job if he organised the scholarship as a form of exam for kids in state secondary schools from poor homes. So they get the form for free write the exam and then hope to be picked. But, poor kids could get the form write the exams and if offered apply for scholarship that was why I was asking for how much it will cost to get their application form. If the form alone cost a ton of cash then this scholarship makes no sense like you rightly said.

Here's a more serious question: what's a woman's birthday and gender after marriage? A wife should adopt her husband's birthday and gender.

No be small thing. The woman's accademic qualification changes to her husbands own. After all he owns her now and she must become him.
