larrymilla:Actually, these professions excel in the Western world. The problem we have in Nigeria though is that most people do not require/use licences to practice. They learn their trades from experience and that's it. In this part of the world, you go to school, become an apprentice and after a few thousand hours of apprenticeship, you get a license whice is upgraded on a regular basis till you meet all the requirement to be on top of your game. With regards your pal, if he does not have formal education, you may have to look for other means to immigrate or perhaps stay in Nigeria unless he wants to forget his trade and work as a factory worker or go back to school and get his licenses formally. |
Actually "ola olabiy", the spam bot on this forum is a joke. It bans the wrong people and I do not know what the admins/mods are doing to fix it. This problem has been on for now. I do not think the mods work hand-in-hand with these scammers. |
Today is cut off. Please, after today, all applications will be ignored till the next phase of the project. Thanks again for your applications. We'd be contacting y'all soon. |

larrymilla:Please do not listen to that clown. He's just on NL to drive traffic to his sites. See www.cic.gc.ca and click on Immigrate/Federal Skilled Worker, etc. There are tests you can take to see if you qualify. Goodluck. |
Keep the resumes coming. Where are the Abuja applicants? We have only a few compared to Lagos. |

A sucker is truly born every minute. The mentality of making quick money is really killing Nigeria (and Nigerians). Back to the topic, the earlier she tells her husband the better. Regardless of how the husband may take the news, she has to deal with the consequences of her actions; that's just how life is, the more she tries to mitigate the consequences of her foolishness, the deeper she digs the hole. |
Imeobong:Again, you have to disclose everything; it's for your own benefits. You need to take sometime to go thru the CIC website and application guide; you'd get answers to most of your question from there. |
justwise:Not necessary tho; I know I do knock agencies but there are some agencies that will give you your money's worth. They work side by side with employment agencies. However, with the recession, it's hard getting jobs via proxy unless you possess skills that are really really in shortage and those professions are highly regulated. Not impossible, but in today's climate, quite improbable. P.S. I dunno why this is even an issue. Under the Skilled Worker Category and some other provincial nominee programs, Arranged Employment is not a pre-requisite. I'd rather gloss over it and make my application stronger in other areas than pay someone to waste my time. Just my 2 cents. |
justwise:Obviously, if you make several applications a year, you'd have more experience over someone who has not. The guides and forms are as explicit as they can be; You state your name, youir occupation, your history, etc with documents to back your claims up; Do you need to pay a 3rd party to state them for you? Well, maybe if you are looking for someone to "cook up" your credentials. ![]() |
Imeobong:The only advantage is that you'd be paying someone for a job you can do. |
symbian03:All Canadian institutions are listed here: http://www.aucc.ca/can_uni/our_universities/index_e.html The fees defer for each program/duration. So your question is quite vague. However, one of the cheapest institutions in the country is Memorial University in Newfoundland. |
mirakle:Thanks. |
Nneomaj:Actually, the selected individuals are not getting info from people. They are getting info from established businesses. Just to clear any misconception, we'd rather prefer individuals in the 11 cities listed. This is because this project has a tight budget and we cannot afford to pay someone to travel from PH to Abuja (hotels, feeding, etc) for a just info-gathering. It does not make sense. If you are based in Warri, for instance, we would rather you cover Warri why we get someone to cover Benin, etc. However, if you know your way around and you feel you are able to cover proxy cities, we'd gladly welcome such individuals. P.S. For those that have sent in their applications, we thank you for the interest. We'd be contacting individuals soon. Keep the applications coming. |
Again, we are recruiting folks in the cities listed above for a project. We are an IT firm operating from Canada with a few personnels based in Nigeria and we need "foot soldiers" to get information from major cities in Nigeria. You get the info, you send it, we verify it is your work and very authentic and we pay you promptly; no stories; if it's not your work, we do not pay you; that does not mean you cannot employ someone else (your brother, cousin, etc) to do the job; it just means you cannot lift the info off the internet or steal other people's info. You have to own it so that when we pay you, the info becomes ours. If you want to continue with us, you move to other cities that we have no info about; etc. The more info you get, the more money you are paid. |
buzzme:Buzzme, I'd appreciate if you take your nonsense to another thread. |
Fraba:See my first paragraph: If you are looking for a job or extra cash, then this job is for you. We are looking for individuals in the cities listed below to get info for us. If one individual can do it all, fine but I doubt it; perhaps an individual may be able to cover "Warri, Port Hartcourt, Asaba and Benin" because of the proximity and timelin. This job involves collecting data (pictorial and other information) from various cities. Please only serious minded individuals based in the cities listed below should apply. |
Individuals in: - Enugu - Owerri can also apply. |
naijacutee: Thanks Naijacutee. And we will not be asking anyone for money or to buy Red Mercury (or anything of that nature) from us. calabaman:Pls stop being overly paranoid. No one is asking you to pay any money. We are looking for individuals to carry out a few tasks and they'd be promptly paid. Feel free to check my posts on this forum and see if anyone has accused me or "Jonitive Computers" of any Fraud. Quite frankly, some of you on this forum need brain transplant to be able to think properly. |
knice:Thanks. We are not looking for "non-interested" folks. |

aieromon:All Accredited Universities in Canada are recognised. There are obviously a few that are rated higher. One thing I always advice Nigerians moving to Canada to study is to look at the costs, city (location) and prospects after graduation to make their decisions. Alot of Nigerians are not used to a slow pace of life, so they find it difficult adjusting to smaller communities/city. The weather in some of these cities are almost extreme in the winter; that you have to factor. In the end, it depends on what you want and how much you can afford. For instance, Memorial University in Newfoundland offers probably the cheapest fees and it's quite a good university. Infact, most of their post grad students end up with funding compared to other universities. Due to it's low population, the province (along with Manitoba and Saskatwan) probably have one of the easiest provincial nominee program that enables one to get a permanent residence status. However, the city of St. Johns is small and the weather is extreme in the winter. The job prospects there is quite poor but that does not mean one cannot get jobs. So if I was a Masters student for instance and I got good funding/grants from Memorial Uni, I may have to overlook the fact that it's a snow mine in St Johns and the pace of life is slow as well. My point is, you have to weigh the pros and cons of what these universities have to offer and decide what you can live with, and what you cannot based on what you have and what you want. All the info you need is online for free. So, I cannot really tell you if you should apply to Uni of Sask. There are a few Nigerians in Sask. If you apply and the institution gives you good funding, you may want to overlook the weather; it's a trade off sometimes. Goodluck. |
pcmecom:There's a difference between "Temporal Work Permit" and "Federal skilled Worker". The "Temporal work Permit" as the name suggests, is a scheme where you get a Work permit on a temporary basis if you qualify; this just means when the permit expires, you'd have to leave the country unless you are approved for a renewal or you change your status. In most cases, you do not need any minimum amount. The common denominator is that you would need an employer, based on your current status. On the other hand, the Federal Skilled Worker program is a scheme where you can become a permanent resident based on your skills and work experience, amongst other requirements. It's a points based system and you do not need to be necessarily employed or guaranteed a job to apply; as far as you meet the requirements, you are fine. Based on your marital status, you'd need to prove that you have at least $10,000 or more. That's a requirement. Go to www.cic.gc.ca for all your info. |
pcmecom:Ok; lemme give you an advice for free before I charge you. There are a few ways you can immigrate to Canada.1. Apply for a job and get the company to sponsor your application to get a Visa. This is the easiest and fastest; However, the odds of that happening in today's economy is pretty slim. Most firms will rather hire people that are legally in Canada instead of wasting their resources trying to relocate someone from outside the country. Infact, in an economy where there are lots of unemployed due to the recession, this is a tough sell. Alot of them do not know what it entails and could actually care less unless you work with them and try to push them. Some are quite hesitant as they would rather not " commit" to an unknown quantity. If you pass the stage of getting a work permit, depending on your province and years of experience, you may be able to get a Permanent Resident (PR) status after a year. 2. Apply for PR status from outside Canada. You can apply for your PR status from outside Canada. The embassy you use depends on your status. If you have a long stay and legal status in the UK, you can apply thru the Consultate in London, otherwise you'd have to apply thru the Consulate in Accra, Ghana. The Accra Consulate obviously takes alot longer; could take from 2 - 6yrs or even more, depending on your case. The London Consulate, you can probably get it if you qualify within a year. 3. Apply to study in Canada and get a Study permit. If you are able to obtain a study permit to further your studies, you can move to Canada with the intent of studying and apply for a PR status. If your PR status is not approved before you complete you study, you are eligible for a 3yr Open Work Visa, which gives you another 3yrs to apply for a PR status, in the event the first one gets rejected. Also, it also means you can get a job without any conditions of your employer sponsoring you, as in point 1. One thing I'd not advice you to do is relocate on a Visitor's Visa and try to find a job right away. The job market all over the globe (including Canada) is in a "wowo" condition and you'd be extremely lucky to get a job WITH the right experience AND get the employer to prove to to Human Resources Canada that they made all efforts to recruit Canadians for the job and could not find someone more qualified for the position. You could use a Visitor's Visa and switch to a Study Visa (As in 3) but what's the point? You are better off just going for a study Visa in the first place. Goodluck! |
