MrCover: A Nursing Mother has been electrocuted at her home in North Bank area of Makurdi, the Benue State capital, Reports.
The woman identified as Mishack Obera was killed while ironing her clothes shortly after power was restored in the area.
Her husband, Obera Emmanuel, a businessman from Olamaboro Local Government area of Kogi State, told journalists in Makurdi on Wednesday April 27, that the incident occurred on Sunday evening at their 8th Avenue, off Ter Guma Street apartment in North Bank, Makurdi.
He said his neighbours who were earlier alerted to the incident following a baby’s cry in the room drew his attention on telephone while they battled to save her life in vain before his return from an outing in another part of Makurdi.
"She was ironing the clothes when there was a power surge. Many people in my area said when the light was brought that evening, the current was very high and fluctuating. My neighbour who ate together with me earlier that day confirmed this and said he even experienced a shock that evening in his room," he explained.
"Imagine somebody (wife) who called me at 4:52pm only to be found dead in our room eight minutes later. In fact, she had arranged the bath tub to bathe our baby.
"I’m sure it was while she was arranging to bathe our baby that they restored the light and she tried to quickly use the opportunity to iron the clothes she was sewing and got killed in the process. Even the black soap she uses to bathe our baby was already opened and the bath water was already mixed."

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: What’s The Worst Salary You’ve Seen A Graduate Earn? by Deltatoto: 4:20pm On Apr 28, 2022 |
meedoLock: So, I've been thinking about this for a longer while now, then I came across a similar discussion on a platform. Hence I feel like I should share it with you guys.
As we all know there are a whole lot of insecurities going on in Nigeria now, just that we mostly narrow it down to life insecurity alone, which I believe our present predicament is way beyond.
Amongst them are food insecurity, life insecurity, marriage insecurity, properties insecurity, job insecurity and the list goes on and on.
But my area of interest is that of a job insecurity. As we all know how scholars, most especially graduates struggles to meet the end needs as a result of an increasing unemployment index from time to time at the expense of the commoners, the less connected individuals and the likes.
However, I have seen a graduate earned as low as 7k to 10k. And they held on to the job since their are no forthcoming opportunities to subtitute with.
So, what responsibility would that ridiculous salary cater for in this present economy? Or for how long would the person keep suffering and enduring the chain of time with 7 to 10k?. These are the questions I keep asking myself.
So, without streching this write up too far, I would like to ask this:
What’s the worst salary you’ve seen a graduate earn? I earned 7k as a post man |

Dmacqh: I’m sure you know why I reacted that way . For saying you “ bet that Amaechi will die before Tinubu “ . Trolling is part of politics . Amaechi dissed Tinubu, let Tinubu diss him back or keep mute.
Wether he’s mocking him or not , he said the truth and it’s always bitter.
Because death has not age grade , that’s why you are wishing for a 56years old to die before 70years old man, because he mocked ( truthfully) the man.
Both Amaechi and BAT are part of Buhari. If you want Amaechi to speak against Buhari ill health before speaking about BAT , I’m yet to see how many times BAT condemned herdsmen attack on his tribesmen.
You are right by saying , they should tell us how they will solve Nigeria problems not dissing each other. yes two of them are useless but the problem is I don’t even see any good person running for this office.Nigeria matter tire me. |

Dmacqh: I think you are evil to bet that Amaechi will die before Tinubu.
What did Tinubu do to you guys that you can’t think straight. Is Tinubu physically fit ? Yes physical fitness isn’t a criteria for good governance, but we can’t after suffering same fate with Buhari , and we will undergo same with Tinubu. I expected him to push either Fashola or Osibanjo for his SWAGA . But no , it’s his life ambition.
Your opinion has shown how crude you are . 56 years old man to die so that an assumed 70years old man will rule you. I wonder were we lost it in Nigeria. i did not lose anythg bro.in ur village is it only the oldest people that die.what has age got to do with death.Anybody can fall and that is where I’m angry that virtually all the aspirants are mocking tinubus health.it’s very uncalled for this is a sign that they will fail too.is their manifesto all about tinubus health?why can’t they be telling Nigerians their antecedents and what they plan to do for us.Why are you defending amaechi?is he not a major man in this failed govt? His man Buhari that is operating from sick bed all this 7yrs plus has he ever told Nigerians that Buhari is sick as incompetent?why now?we play politics too much.and pls bros I don’t know any of them their emergeance will not benefit me in anyway but I really hate when people mock sick ppl.from what I know about life anybody can fall sick at anytime.I have also seen sick people battling with health and strong people will slum and die.no one has the keys to all this thgs. |

Janetudeh: A few weeks ago, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo formally declared his intention to run for the 2023 Presidential election. He threw his hat into the ring to join other aspirants like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar amongst others.
Having watched closely the reactions that trailed VP Osinbajo’s declaration, it is clear that he is a strong contender among the aspirants. Over the years, Osinbajo is known for his brilliance, oratory prowess, and excellent delivery of projects committed to his hands.
During his time as acting President, he showed his full capacity and made giant strides that left every Nigerian in awe. This clearly shows that if he becomes President, Nigeria would be transited to another level of greatness.
Osinbajo has set the standard so high for the incoming Vice President that such a person would have to hold his head up high, and put in extra efforts to surpass the records set by him. Not only did he outperform in his constitutional duties, he also redefined that position that was before now, dormant.
Let us not also forget that he has since maintained a cordial relationship with his boss in the last seven years, this in itself, is highly commendable because we haven’t seen such between the President and Vice President since the inception of democracy.
The All Progressives Congress Party (APC) must realize that 2023 is a very crucial year, one shot at making the wrong choice of a presidential candidate would lead the party to retrogression. It will also be politically suicidal for APC not to give their ticket to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, he is not a regional or an ethnic person but a nationalist, who is welcome all over the country. There is no ethnic or religious bigotry found in him.
Nigeria needs capable hands, and Osinbajo fits that description. We cannot afford to miss this man who can unify us and take Nigeria to the Promised Land. NIGERIA NEEDS OSINBAJO your grave needs u.can u see how foolish u can be.I’m sure u can’t even feed 3 times a day.the poor ppl are the problem Nigeria is having.osibanjo has been heading the economic team for almost 8yrs now how good is the economy.he has been in the villa for almost 8yrs why do u think the things he didn’t do as vp will now be rocket science for him when he becomes president. It will not be well with u for this post |

Deadlytruth: I am still surprised how most Deltans here on NL now deride Obaseki, though correctly, as a failure in the class of Ikpeazu. But these were the same Deltans all defending Obaseki just two years ago here as being a victim of Oshiomhole's evil machinations because he wanted to work rather than hand over Edo State treasury to Oshiomhole even when it was clear that his first term was not anywhere near one twentieth of Oshiomhole's first term in terms of performance? So how come it is just dawning on Deltans now that Obaseki is actually a failure? Abi una been no know wetin really dey happen before for Edo State before now?
