Okay....I know you know me, may I know you too?

Thanks.

grin Qc1, it was only a calculated guess but I am always right about these things. Clap for me.

Anyway being away since 1992 is no joke. If you must, go home and enjoy your retirement brother. My only worry is with this unserious present regime.

Home is the best. I love Nigeria of old.

I left Naija since 1992!

One day, you will reach a stage where money is nothing to you, and I'm not talking about being rich.

So....no joking here!

You also forgot to let us know that your popsy is a very rich man and well connected for Lagos so you can afford to take the risk of returning to naija with little or no consequences to you financially.

Poor man pickin will not even entertain such thought in the present day Nigeria. cheesy

"dullard" and "presidiot" are the only words you can use successfully because you borrowed it from others. I challenge you to give me the synonyms of the word dullard. Shouldn't be wasting my time with you, scallywag. Rant on!

You shouldn't be wasting time doing this back and forth. Spend more time educating yourself goat!

It's a shame you display your frustration, illiteracy and idiocy in public. If you are not ridden in wanton ignorance, you should know that this forum exists because it is able to accept diverse opinions. If you are looking for where your opinion alone would hold sway, you better relocate to your village so you can dine and wine with illiterates like you. I don't blame you because the proliferation of the social media has placed everyone on the same pedestal where even nonentities put your bags higher above the height of your hands.

I said it before and I will say it again. You are a dullard just like presidiot buhari. Kill yourself.

I still don't understand why PMB is retaining Godwin Emeifele as CBN Governor. What the CBN and his cohorts are doing to Nigeria economy is worst than coup. They are deliberately reeling out policies that will further impoverished Nigerians so that PMB will eventually become unpopular. The irony of the matter is that PMB does not know his true friends. His true friends are the so call wailers who are lamenting the fact that things are getting worst under his regime.
How do you explain the fact that CBN increased MPR to 14% when what we are presently experiencing is cost pushed inflation and not demand push inflation? It is quite obvious that the people PMB surrounded himself with are deliberately misadvising him
I will recommend that the president update his knowledge of Economics before it is too late!

No blame for the finance minister at all. Only the CBN governor should be sacked. Why do you have to make your tribalism so glaring?

About 60-70% of the things we use in Nigeria are made in China. From electronics to foot wears, clothing materials, phones and its accessories, and even foods like rice, spaghetti etc. China I think barely imports anything. Now, the question is, how did they get to this stage? However they got to this stage, the obvious is that it must have taken the enactment of a very strong economic policy by their leaders(which at that must have affected the living conditions of its populace) to make China what it is today. Am been forced to think that that is the same thing this present government gave in mind. But unfortunately, our people do not have the spirit and patience.

All I can say is that you are a dullard just like your presidiot buhari. Please go and educate yourself. You have no right to be on this forum.

Was a good job delivered eventually? You really need to ascertain that.

I honestly cannot say until I go for a visit. Most Nigerians don't have eyes for details and quality so I never take their word as the gospel. But them say "e dey good"

Ultimately, I just want a sound job done. Stealing money/materials and then topping it with bad workmanship is the pits.

Sometimes you just have to leave people to their destiny.

You'll finish your house one day and they can't rob you anymore.

Why complicating issue... Why not involve a trusted roofer, builder or engineer to do your work?

In fact I thought I had located a trusted roofer. Came highly recommended by the guy I trusted and helped financially once in a while. I even turned down roofers introduced by my family for this so called "trusted roofer".

Little did I know that they are a tag team only looking out for their own personal gain. I have learnt my lesson.

Sorry to hear this dude.

That's naija for una.

Egunmogaji, thank you sir. I guess no one can be trusted except oneself. Since one cannot be on two places at the same time we must decide if it is better to let family chop or stranger.

In this case, I choose family. cool
Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Demainman1: 5:06pm On Jul 27, 2016
Never involve family in your project. Keep family away from your build. Don't mix family and your house project. So most people here will say.

Guess what? I listened and decided to use a friend of a brother who I thought was on my side for my roofing. Alas, him and the roofer has just dealt with me seriously. sad

It's BACK to my family abeg. It's better family chop me than for an outsider to deal with me with no guilty conscience whatsoever.

I have just spent 3.5M on a twin 2-bedroom flat to roofing level. I was ripped off by the roofer and the guy that introduced him to me.

All the same I put it down to experience.

Chop me but don't RUIN me. This is my philosophy with building in Nigeria.

I may be able to help but I dont know how i can because i am not a builder, I may be able to give you prices for tiling per sqm which is widely available anyway, prices of electrical stuff and toilet fittings. Then again, taste can be different so might be better if one of the more experienced builders give you an idea.

Do you have an idea of the space area ?

Area is 16.5 x 7 =115sqm

I hope to share the final cost of the project.

2.5m for total finishing?

I am afraid..

Please tell me more. Will I spend more? It's only a BQ. I don't intend to do the compound with interlock yet.

Can somebody break down the cost for the stages listed pls. At least that is what this thread is supposed to be for until we had the derailment attempt.

Work remaining:

1. Plastering
2. Windows (12 big, 4 small)
3. Electrical and plumbing (4 toilets)
4. Tiling
5. Ceiling
6. Painting

Your budget will be determined by the level of sacrifices. Budget +/- N2m - N2.5m for basic yet good finishes.

Thank you.

Demainman1, for a twin 2 bed N1m is not going to get you anywhere but you can do it this way.

Plaster the whole house and concentrate on finishing one unit. No frills or thrills like (tiles, POP, kitchen cabinets etc.

Just simple and basic finish.

I've suggested how to to do it sometimes ago here https://www.nairaland.com/2816304/need-low-budget-cost-building#41226818 Though, it was a 4 bed bungalow then.

Well done!

Thanks. I will actually love to do both together instead of one at a time. I guess I will just continue with what I have and see where that takes me.

Like how much do you reckon? I am trying to prepare myself for the final stint.

why not place the plan here instead so others can give their inputs, you also need to be specific on the intended level of finishing, for example what types of ceiling boards do you need?

Thanks. The plan is a simple twin - 2 rooms and a parlour. Ideally I will like pop for the parlour, corridors and kitchen and PVC everywhere else.

Dimension is 16.5 x 7

Just a basic finish with sliding windows. Bathroom will be wet room and shower.

Guys, I have a twin 2-bedroom flat that is already roofed. It is a commercial type of house. Call it BQ.

My question is. Can 1 million complete the remaining work? If not how much would do? Just basic finish.

Hajj, Brabus your input will be appreciated.

Work remaining:

1. Plastering
2. Windows (12 big, 4 small)
3. Electrical and plumbing (4 toilets)
4. Tiling
5. Ceiling
6. Painting

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
