PoliticsRe: Government Rejects US Military Base In Nigeria by denex: 12:38pm On Nov 23, 2007
@I-man

you have started spreading complete and utter fallacies this early again? What goes on in your head when you spit these lies?

1) Africa's share of global trade is 2%. Do you forget that trade between African nations also exists? Have you all of a sudden forgotten the claim that Africa spends billions fighting wars annually? Is all that too not part of global trade? Do you not remember that Nigeria and most other African countries import almost all the finished goods they consume? Do you realise how many brand new automobiles were imported to Nigeria in 2007 by Toyota alone? Please get your facts straight and stop vomiting figures of ignorance.

2) China runs a dictatorship. Where do you get this kind of talk from? Must the Chinese Government build a Statue Of Liberty before you agree that they are under a democracy? I'm sure you have a very myopic definition of the word democracy, so let's hear it.

I say let's deport the guy too to Benin Republic or Togo and they will in turn deport him to Somalia.

When the guy gets entangled in a web of deportations and counter deportations, he will confess his true identity.
PoliticsRe: End Of US-dollars? by denex: 11:05am On Nov 23, 2007
Yes, very true. Since we are not a major exporter of manufactured goods, then the fall of the dollar is very much to our benefit and so we should rejoice.
PoliticsRe: Senate Rejects Transfer Of Bakassi To Cameroun by denex: 10:54am On Nov 23, 2007
You people, including the Senators calling for the annexing of Bakassi are all mad. You think the USA, UK and France are interested in what happens to Bakassi? They just want to see a war so that they can sell billions of dollars worth of weapons.

What is wrong with you all. The Ceding of Bakassi to Cameroun was one of the best things OBJ did. At least he showed that Africans can solve problems without barbarism. Now you all want to turn all that around and take the usual route of violence. "something dey worry una O!"
PoliticsRe: University Prof Is A Sea Dog Capone by denex: 10:46am On Nov 23, 2007
Well, I really don't know what to say. Considering the fact that just yesterday, some friends of mine who are members of such a brotherhood, the Buccaneers Association of Nigeria, though they were all graduates, were discussing how they billed a student N70,000 to join and since he couldn't pay, they were planning to re-enlighten him with as many slaps as possible. So for now, I still don't know what to say about these "associations".

Intentions may be pure, but then, corrupt elements get inculcated. Afterall, the OPC was supposed to be a liberty seeking group, all of a sudden, they started killing citizens, extorting money and hijacking election ballot boxes.
PoliticsRe: State House Spends 1.34 Million Per Week On Food by denex: 9:12am On Nov 22, 2007
This topic is just pointless. A Time For Revolution? Just because presidential staff chop belle-full? Abeg, I think N1.3million is very modest. Have you considered the number of presidential guards and staff?

What needs to be done is to divide the total amount by 7 days and you will find out that N200,000 is spent daily. Then you divide that by the total number of people working and living in Aso Rock. If it amounts to about N5000 per person per day, which is the cost of a plate of food in some fancy restaurants, then I think that is fair. But if it amounts to about N50,000 per person per day, then something is definitely wrong somewhere.

Please you people should not attempt to use hunger or malnutrition to assassinate our dear President O!
PoliticsRe: Government Rejects US Military Base In Nigeria by denex: 8:53am On Nov 22, 2007
A group of USA warships carrying as many as 8,000 military personnell has been blocked from docking in China's Hong Kong harbour.

The USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier, with one nuclear fast attack submarine and 3 other military ships arrived around the China's deep water without previous notice and expected to be let to anchor with their Weapons of Mass Destruction just because it was Thanksgiving day.

If the Chinese would not make such a mistake, I wonder why we should. Or is there anyone in this forum who believes that the USA would let 5 Chinese warships with 8000 military officers and a submarine laden with nuclear weapons to dock at Hawaii just because it was Chinese New Year?

Or maybe we're assuming that the USA will allow 8000 Nigerian soldiers to show up unexpectedly at Florida Bay with Nuclear Weapons just because it's Egungu Festival.

Africa, it's about time you people start growing new brains and stop thinking like black people. Any continent that cannot allow us build a military command of equivalent size on their land cannot build one on our motherland.
PoliticsRe: Chavez And Ahmedinejad: World Political Comedians by denex: 8:36am On Nov 22, 2007
@I-man

you have come again with you inane ideas. You're telling me that a country that has not helped it's own people as much as it should can now go to another country and start giving them aid.

I see that your madness has broken loose again and you have chosen Nairaland as your preferred location to go on rampage this morning.

You posted a link which said that about $122 billion has been approved by the USA congress for spending. Has the money been used to do anything? The same link you posted showed that of the already released was being misappropriated. So what exactly are you saying?

You I-man sir, are daft. So much so that you would post a link debunking your own claims.

Your link also talks of USA congressmen who are vehemently rejecting aid for the hurricane victims. So please U-man, what exactly does this prove? My dear sir, help me explain this your own self-styled imbecility.
PoliticsRe: Government Rejects US Military Base In Nigeria by denex: 6:53am On Nov 22, 2007
Oh so kobojunkie, so you don't know that the USA has long taken over Japan and is basically still running it?

Well, if the USA wants to set up their AFRICOM, then we will need to first set up our own AMERICOM in Washington DC first. Then we'll need to lobby China to deploy they own AMERICOM in Mexico too.

Military "Aid"? You mean the USA is arming Israel to the tune of $30 billion.
PoliticsRe: Senate: Need For The Creation Of Zaria, Apa And Owena State. by denex: 6:38am On Nov 22, 2007
@Bashali

I really don't know what you're talking about. I didn't read through the posts to see what state was for where. I know Zaria is to be in the North, Owena in the West and Apa, I really don't know.

I generally want all the new states to be merged back. I'm from Edo State and right at this moment, I'm in Benin City. I preferred when it was Bendel. That was what I was talking about. Abi during the time of the old Bendel State, did you ever hear of Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo wars?

So please mr. Bashali, I don't know where you're headed to with your post.
PoliticsRe: State House Spends 1.34 Million Per Week On Food by denex: 3:54pm On Nov 21, 2007
I don't see that as expensive at all. When I was staying with my family, we spent more than N20,000 on feeding daily and we had no animals, only one house-help and one security guard. Altogether, 7 members of the family and 2 staff expended N140,000 weekly. So if there's going to be any revolution, I suggest it is carried out against private citizens because they spend more on their feeding.
PoliticsRe: Government Rejects US Military Base In Nigeria by denex: 3:45pm On Nov 21, 2007
Anybody who actually believes that the USA wants to build their Command in Nigeria is just a clown. This is all just misdirection. It's like telling me that the USA will build a command in China.

The real African power that the USA may need to tackle in West Africa and indeed the whole of Africa is actually Nigeria. So the plan actually will be to build the command in a small country close to Nigeria. A country which preferably has Crude Oil too.

That country is Equatorial Guinea. So all this their abracadabra is just to see whether an AFRICAN COMMAND will be permitted at all anywhere on African soil.
PoliticsRe: Chavez And Ahmedinejad: World Political Comedians by denex: 10:35am On Nov 21, 2007
Hugo Chavez is currently signing a major deal which will see more than a doubling of chocolate exports from Venezuela to France, Venezuela currently has the largest refinery in the world and Chavez is striking various deals around the world including those with Iran and the USA to supply refined petroleum and you people are still finding all this comedic. Goodluck, have a good laugh.

As for the slowpoke that was praising the massive help the USA afforded Indonesia during and after the Tsunami, I think you should look at the Americans that suffered and are still suffering years after Katrina with no help. "Person wey never remove firewood from hin eye, e dey go Indonesia go commot hair from their eye". Continue to deceive yourselves. Do you even know that people were being giving mercy killings during the Hurricanes in government hospitals.

"Who no know go dey talk like say na him know pass."

Keep laughing at presidents that are going round the world lobbying for their countries' stake in world economics and politics. Let's see.
PoliticsRe: Senate: Need For The Creation Of Zaria, Apa And Owena State. by denex: 9:47am On Nov 21, 2007
@nigeria1

if IBB and Abacha were bias in the way and manner they went about creating states, don't you think the problem can be solved by merging the states back. Why should the problem be solved by creating more states.

I guess what I'm saying is that if a parent separates their daughter from a marriage and later find out that their actions were unfair, should they try to make a balance by making sure all their other daughters have dissolved marriages too, or they should rather find a way of getting things back to the way they were before.
PoliticsRe: An American Deported To Nigeria by denex: 8:08am On Nov 21, 2007
@davidylan

It is yourself who is exhibiting an extremely low level of intelligence here. When I say Nigeria is the largest African country, I didn't think it would require Einsteins to understand what I meant.

When Nigerians see a Korean, Cambodian, Taiwanese or Vietnamese in this part of the world, they immediately refer to them as Chinese or Chinks. Even in the USA they do the same. So I really don't see where your analogy is going.

@I-man

I cannot understand the personal attack on RichyBlack. Something must be wrong with you.

Well Africa is the motherland of all Africans and people of African descent. Nigeria is by far the largest African country and perhaps outsiders see us more as the custodians of everything African, so since they didn't know where exactly to send the man, they just sent him to us. But what we should in turn do is find a befitting country to deport him to. I personally suggest Togo.

PoliticsRe: Senate: Need For The Creation Of Zaria, Apa And Owena State. by denex: 7:02am On Nov 21, 2007
Personally, I feel this state creation exercise breeds selfishness and strife between the separated peoples. Resource distribution problems, boundary conflicts and disproportionality in budget allocation.

During the old days when there were Kwara, Benue and Bendel states, I never heard about communal clashes along their borders, but since the creation of Kogi state, it's been one boundary clash after the other. The suprising thing is even that Kogi wasn't carved out of Bendel state so where is all the violence coming from? Well, as long as there are divisions "gbeghe" must follow. Simple. So let's start uniting instead.
PoliticsRe: End Of US-dollars? by denex: 9:50am On Nov 20, 2007
Well, for now, the Euro is the best international trading currency in the world. More countries use it as their national currency, it is very stable, the issuing countries have very strong economies and also has a high value. These are the features of a good currency. These were the features of the dollar when it became the preferred international trading currency of the world.

Since things have changed, we need to change to the Euro.

China has its more than $1 trillion worth of foreign reserves in various currencies, not just in dollars. It is only countries like Nigeria, with our magic Central Bank Governor, that has chosen to put all its eggs in one basket.

UTTER RUBBISH!

What we need right now is a program to gradually merge some of the states not to create more divisions.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Power Problem - Why Energy Conservation Is A Must by denex: 7:42pm On Nov 19, 2007
N12 is not too low O! That's about the price in most parts of the world. If it goes above international market price, people will prefer to import than manufacture in Nigeria. Because even though power will be available, it would become too expensive.
PoliticsRe: Chavez And Ahmedinejad: World Political Comedians by denex: 7:39pm On Nov 19, 2007
@dayokano

Are you telling me there is a funnier world politician than George Bush of the "more of America's imports are coming from abroad" fame?

When the petroleum minister of Saudi Arabia mentioned in 2003 that crude oil would reach and stay above $70, a lot of people laughed.
When Mandela said the war on Iraq couldn't be over in weeks, a lot of you laughed.

I think it's excess weed that people smoke these days that makes them find relevant information funny.

Crude Oil prices will only get higher and higher because reserves are depleting and demand is rising. What's so funny about that?

The value of the dollar has been declining over the past couple of years. Today it's more than $2 dollars to 1 British Pound. Yet people subconsciously continue to trade with the dollar without considering that the original virtues of the dollar which made it internationally accepted are virtually all lost. So what's so comedic about that?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Power Problem - Why Energy Conservation Is A Must by denex: 7:23pm On Nov 19, 2007
Don't worry about energy conservation. By the time pre-paid meters have been installed all over the country and PHCN starts charging the standard N10 or N12 per kiloWATT hour, nobody will need to advice Nigerians to conserve energy.

I'm actually speaking from personal experience.
