I felt like life would end at that point. Treated other women like dirt, lots of passing on the heartbreak etc. But I finally got over it and forgave her. Then I could really date again - and shortly after that, I met the most perfect girl in the world for me - miss RIGHT I think

I once had a lady who had some serious toasters on fb. I wasn't comfortable with them and I let her know. She will raise tantrums that I dont like her being friends with guys which wasn't the case. My opinion is friends should have limits. It went on for a while and there was one dude in particular that was offering real support. Guess what happened? I broke up with her one day and they started officially dating two weeks later.

I am a bit traditional myself, in that I believe there are different roles for the man and the woman. As long as she doesn't neglect her roles, she can make all she wants. I will just be proud of her.

BTW, try to face your relationship with a girl squarely first b4 you become totally entwined with her family. Your expectations are too high. You contribute to her finances and you think you own her. Stop the financial aspect too. I do not think you love each other. You are looking for a lady to take care of you like a wife, and she needs your money. I can see why you feel shortchanged.

Being friends with someone is not the same thing as dating the person. Things get deeper when you are dating, the microscope gets more minute on issues. A lot of things that can be swept under the rug as a friend starts becoming important. Jealousy kicks in ( or the right to show your jealousy lol). Different kinds of secrets come into play. You become responsible for each other, and cannot act as you would without considering their feelings.
No you can't tell a woman fully by being friends with her. Even after many years!
Dating gives you that inside look into her life that makes you know how she ticks.

Who says it's a waste of time. The experience counts too. At least I learn to deal with women and improve bedmatic skills too.
