Oh Gosh! Am so happy a thread for bimmer lovers is finally on nairaland. I love bmw so much I cruise around town in one. I was initially into jap autos but got 'born again' last year. I got my self a nice bmw 3 series, Bmw 323ci. - a wonderful coupe with a straight six that thunders on third mainland bridge. I pass all the jap suckers with their huge fibre toys and they won't understaand why with only 170hp, I can still cruise and jet off their sights without hesitation. Bmws are made for men with guts. The ASC system is excellent and I hug corners like am on a val date I use cars for only 12 months so I might have to let go of my coupe baby soon. But guess which car am buying next ? Bimmer of course. Bimmers for men

i am addicted to the BMW E46. this is a sweet clean ride. the dashbord is clean with no warning light on. a good omen. good ride, handling and performance. happy sales OP. on questions about reliablility, use approved synthetic oils (i use Mobil 1 0W40), alow only trained and experienced technicians, and this car would be more than faithful, am talking from experience- i use a 323CI E46 |
@kellyman it was not a location issue as i experienced the same issue on my BIS this morning. the service is however back on (like fifteen minutes ago) try it now |

first advice, try changing the topic to make readers understand the main issue to the issue raised, it is obvious improper installation of the engine can cause the problems raised for the transmission. torque converter, wiring etc should be checked. was enough ATF added after re-installation and hope its not the cheap N300 per bottle stuff that was dumped therein. black smoke simply means there is a problem with the combustion, too much fuel is being burnt. causes are vast ranging from faulty MAF systems, Injector issues, intake bla bla bla, it could even be a simple connection issue. a vehicle diagnostics might be required. |

before attempting an expensive change of transmission, pls review steps stated below. 1. does your transmission fluid smell burnt? is the colour brownish? 2. confirm that there is no leak, this should be noticeable minutes after parking, 3. scans conducted using cheap obd tools might not detect all manufacturer related DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Code). The same way you cant browse on your nokia 3310. Visit an advanced diagnostic shop with honda specific scanners or Universal scanners like the V30. 4. it is not advisable to push your transmission during this stress period as it may damage more components beyond repair. a simple sensor problem might later turn to total transmission overhaul very soon. please revert. |
