one day will be one day......'wonderment' on wheels.... |
aguiyi: 500k cash |
the rio is cheaper (for the same features). they share the same chassis and engine platform....most parts to except the 'coverings'. In Nigeria, the Rio has only the 1.4L versions while the accent has an option for the 1.6L. the rio looks more masculine and its a newer introduction to the market....the accent is already gettin 'old'. |
the information is on the website of the nigeria vehicle standard management authority....the only issue is that the agency is still a pipeline dream........ |
He, however, added that if she re-married, the land should be taken away from her.what happens if wise Bianca sells the land and then marries? |
there should be age and mental restrictions on Nairaland to prevent certain posters from derailing threads. |
Had my wedding recently. I simply could not invite all because I have such a large network base. I did an sms band bbm broadcast, facebook calendar invites and sent out over 200 invitation cards to my clients and other big wigs. Surprisingly, I still met some guys who said though they saw my bc, they won't come if they don't get the colorful IV. I polietly told them not to come. Not all will come, not all are expected and if you don't have the heart to embrace the possibility of your friend actually forgetting to invite you or not having the capacity to distribute physical IVs, you are not a real friend |
lets review on logical points only. emotional, tribalistic, political affiliations are on hold ceteris paribus. ACN is currently and evidently under the reign of Tinubu. this is the common man's perception and its a negative attribute. ACN lost in ondo state mainly because people saw the candidate as a stooge. the party's image was dented further with Tinubu's statements on funding mimiko with millions of pounds....this did not help at all. The recent LGA election in Tinubu's own LGA is a clear example of the pattern to expect in 2015. Fashola's policy whilst favouring the elite in delivery of a cosmopolitan lagos DOES NOT favour the lower income earners. The bulk of the elites and middle class in Nigeria's polity do not vote on election days. they sit back and watch events from their 42 inch LCD screens and munch fried chicken. the premium youths will be on twitter and facebook and Nairaland debating away.....its always the okada men and NURTW guys, the teachers, civil servants and the other bunch that vote en masse.....and they are really pissed with Fashola at the moment.....any alternative will be on point. ACN will have to fight hard to win even marginally this time around |
who is the lady clutching her hand purse as if all Nigeria's foreign reserve was stored therein ?then there is this other guy (in the first picture, first on the right)that seems he is just six inches taller than the cake but his tummy seems like there is enough space to contain all the cakes and drinks ![]() Nice ceremony |
We have a lot of hatred going on within the minds of Nigeria's youths. The average nairalander was not around in 1967 yet they loathe other ethnic groups and slander insults on issues that happened almost half a century ago. How can a country grow when the 'next generation' thrives only on european football, beer and ethnic based tantrums. Sides to arguments are taken, not based on which is viewed as right, but on whether the argument supports our tribe or not-the classic thought process of lower animals. How many of those against Ojukuwu, Gowon, Obasanjo, Adekunle, Ejoor and others can achieve the bits these guys achieved before they turn forty? These guys were young and had no experience whatsoever yet they made decisions that we all can learn from decades after. Ojukwu found himself in a complex situation and took a decision to save his people. These same attackers would still abuse him if he made contrary decisions. Same with Gowon et al. Unfortunately, the problems of the past still haunt us and we fail to learn from history. We still engage in tribal warfare like savages of the old africa. Apart from the cotton clothes and internet access we currently enjoy, there is little to diffrentiate the current crop of humans living here from their twin-killing, human-eating, idol-worshipping ancestors that roamed this side of the earth centuries ago |
since the unmentionable was bitten off, i can only say the unsayable. pouring water has now turned unthinkable. since pus is coming out of the unmentionable, unmentionable has turned undrinkable. however, the plantiff is lucky as she has two unmetionable. this implies that only one is unsuckable and the other unmentionable is unharmed. i rest my unrepentant case. |
what is unmentionable? |
usmanyaro17: As far as I am concern,GEJ remains the best candidate,he is the child of necessity tha t we have for I now,I have not seen any better candidate for the mean time Walahi...ok. thank God you have only one vote. |
No disrespect to the SS but I hardly come across people from these areas that think logistically. They all behave like their insane. Look at Sarowiwa,he died for is people not even a park or street to remember him by. But they remembered Abacha for creating a state those people have a bad inferior way of thinking so I'm not amazed at all.
i beg to differ from your premise. the fact that a few people from a region (remember texas and the secession threat) take certain positions on a matter; positions that go contrary to ours doesnt mean the whole group/region is to be blamed. this is what fans tribalistic fires of hatred. i think we should look review opinions made by individuals and not assume they are made by the region they come from...every region of the world has imbeciles, idiots, intellectuals, literates, illiterates, comuter gurus, armed robbers, pastors, imams, blessed, cursed etc and any sub set you can think of. |
Ournaija: Omo you don write sotay you know know wetin you dey write again.yea the irony of 'the nigerian situation'. the core issue we have as a country is premised on the fact that we don't learn from history. Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it-George Santayana |
this implies an urgent call to set up a committee whose core duty will be to set up another committee made up of 100 members each from the six geo political zones. this new committee will then discuss on how to beg the erstwhile president jonathan and him wife to consider the plight of the masses and re-contest in 2015. the committee's report and findings is to be reviewed by another committee in all 36 state houses of assembly (another committee will oversee all the bulky reports) and a recommendation will be made to NASS and INEC on that matter.....another committee to be set up to review all the gibberish i just typed to determine if we should still continue with english language as our official means of communication or adopt mandarin since china is reputably having more than 70% input in the average nigerian consumption. |
kia rio 2012....economical for lagos city traffic.... key driving point.....the vehicle does not like to be hurried and acts like a lady applying make up.....easy on the throttle at start ups then she comes to orgasm from 80km/h. 1.4L engine too small though....my first 1 point anything engine (i have always pushed 6 cylinders minimum and once pushed a V Boot E430 V8) AC was designed by eskimos. large boot....can contain almost all your shopping....all! comes with a triptronic gear lever and the fun of 'auto-manual' driving in a budget kia. am saving for the Optima... |
Ask4delaw: Mine happened on Ibadan-abeokuta road, the road is a single carriage way and narrow, we were going to ibadan from abeokuta and there was this particular trailer driving at a speed say 60km/h and every driver was ancious to overtake the trailer whenever there is a little chance to do so, there was somuch tailback, you know when overtaking on that kind of road, you have to be sure no vehicle coming from the opposite lane b4 pulling out from the behind of the trailer.when it was almost my turn,(we were approaching a bend)i was actually second car behind the trailer, all of the sudden, the trailer left is lane to the other and the car right in front of me followed the trailer, lo and behold !!! another trailer that was coming from Ibadan also left is lane and was directly driving towards me.(the two trailers swapped lanes)I didnt know when i turned my steering and ran into the bush to my right, the trailer was just few meters away from me,the action was so reflex, i couldnt control it.Luckily for me,there was no trees or big stones on my path when i was driving through the bushes. When the car finally came to rest, i was shaking. As the Lord would have it, none of my occupants sustained any injury and the car was in order.the vehicles coming behind me had to park and come to our rescue.{Reason for the swap> at the bent, a bus broke down on the lane of vehicles coming from ibadan,so the trailer coming from ibadan had to use our lane to avoid the bus on it lane, before the driver could finish the overtaking and go back to his lane,he was already close to the trailer in front of us,so the trailer in front of us had to use the other lane to avoid head-on collision}. All these happened within 5 to 10seconds.its like one of those clips in JAMES BOND movie.I thank God today am still alive.I also thank God for you too.Lesson from above: Don't overtake at bends or hill brows. |
I am an ex mitusbushi owner. - a montero sports 1998 model. I really over pimped that beast-subwoofers, bluetooth audio (back then it was the in thing), tinted windows, brand new original tyres etc. Despite all, the car turned snoop with its white smoke after idling in the afternoons. I noticed most monteros were having the same symptom on lagos roads. I remembered one morning after clubbing on akin adesola and we were returning to the mainland, I had a drag race with my friend's honda accord (EOD) on 3MB. My truck kept pushing the speedo till I could only see the EOD headlights in my rearview mirror.--around 4am. That was the last time i toyed with my soul though..... ![]() Mits are good japs but I don't trust their engine longevity in nigeria. It must have something to do with our fluids. |
So Dino can donate a whole N10m at a movie premiere. Is the naira that devalued? |
This car will turn heads in Nigeria. Reasons: People would be surprised a rio can be this pretty The vehicle is not yet as common as its cousin....the hyundai accent The automatic is more scarce....(Dana just got delivery of less than 100 last week for the whole country) Head-turning attributes of vehicles can vary and depend on individual differences of the 'head-owner'so no perfomance sport tuned fanatic should ridicule my choice of a 1.6 litre 138HP kitten in the midst of his hungry lions. Apart from this metro car, I melt easily for the high end germans.....I am always tripped by the possibility of implanting a V8 from the heart of an X5 to a coupe E46. That's the definition of being born again. A scruffy 4.0 L beast with professionally modified exhausts mated to a 6 speed manual tranny. Yellow on a BMW doesn't make it a taxi.....it makes it stand out

2012/2013 kia rio. A masculine beauty.
That is just 11 days for China. Nigeria has 15 days. http://publicholiday.org/calendar/public-holidays-nigeria-2012/
nah...you are wrong even from the sites you quoted. first you included june 12 for Nigeria and its not a national holiday. secondly, you forgot the two 'golden weeks' holiday in China that lasts for a full week each... in addition, you did not add the national holiday for china which is for three solid days (specificaly tuesday, wednesday and thursday of 1st, second and third October 2013) when it comes to holidays, nigeria is not even near China and they are more developed. there's something called work-life-balance which we really need in this country. how many people go on vacations? how many employers approve complete annual leave for their staff? the first time i got a complete 4-week leave was when i resigned from my past job.... |
OYINBOGOJU: The developed countries of the world never had holiday like Nigeria.if you hear about the frequency of holidays in China, you would be surprised ref http://www.travelchinaguide.com/essential/public-holiday.htm |
Dear op We have different badges under the nissan name. Can you be more specific? If to compare cars on the same level, the rio can be compared to the nissan versa. Me personally, I don't think the guys in nissan budget car units mix with their counterparts in the high end car departments. The versa is the most crappy looking jap budget car I have seen on nigerian roads.... I prefer the rio. And for guys that would say korean cars are poorly built cars, please note that their recent designs have come of age.honda and toyota were in d same mockery league when they first came out |
What about J-turns? The ability to make a complete turn at an avg of 40km/h. It involves the use of the hand brake and a sharp twist of the steering wheel. It is also called the bootlegger turn. It enables you to face where you were coming from without losing speed. |
sold..... thanks all |
