If it sure for you move and explore.
The black men saw the ocean and worshipped it as a God,
The white men saw the same ocean and thought of how to conquer it.
Today they have colonised all parts of the world by travelling on the high seas the black men worshipped.
Don't forget the saying, "No risk no ventures".

Petrol at #402.5 per litre.
Nigerians might not be able to afford the basics to survive again cos any increase in the price of petrol will lead to a resultant increase in other commodities.

Some people spent more than half of the years they lived in this world studying.
And that's a challenge.

I'll go with the school work since it is mentally tasking, but don't accept if their closing time extends beyond 4pm on weekdays and 2pm on Friday in order to have time for recuperation.
From there you could find better things to do.
Also confirm from the teachers there if they don't owe payment of salaries.
Programming / Re: Is C++ Still A Relevant Programming Language Today? by denvers: 4:00pm On May 08, 2021
C++ is used in system applications, gaming applications etc.
So it's influence and importance cannot be under estimated.
Most programmers in Nigeria are web developers and mobile application developers, so they tend not to use c++.

Try to continue and don't relent even in difficulty (cos times like that will surely come).

Learn HTML, then CSS, JavaScript and try to build projects along with learning.

Programming / Re: How Did You Make Your First Pay From Programming? by denvers: 3:28pm On May 07, 2021
Onahi95:
While some people go into programming for the love of it, most go into it as a hustle, I belong to the later group.

We all know how difficult it is to move from "hello word" to earning real cash from programming. So let us share our experiences on how we made our first cash from programming.

I will start with mine:

I've been learning web development for sometime now though it has been difficult combining it with academics, but its been fun though. I am almost through with frontend though I am stuck at react due to lack of time.

So our lecturer taking us on a software development course divided us into groups and mandated each group to develop different softwares within one week using java or php.

I proposed javascript but he insisted that javascript is not a programming language which got me confused. I opted for php since it was a language i intend learning after react, I downloaded php source codes and modified them to my taste since I know it is not possible to learn a new language in one week.

Most groups were struggling with their projects and soon word got out that I could do it. My phone rang like a customer care rep, I charged 1k per software and all I had to do was get source codes and modify. It was not easy cos I had to get familiar with php syntax.

I didnt sleep for two days cos I needed the money badly, my girlfriend complained that I am just doing 1k work and no longer giving her any time and wonders what will happen if I get a 100k job.

I ended up working for 12 groups, and together with the much needed cash came popularity and they started seeing me as a computer geek...lol.

Please share yours

That's the problem with most Nigerian University lecturers, they feel the opinion of students is not so important.
But kudos to you for trusting in Google.
You used your peers ignorance to cash out.
Programming / Re: I Created This Website To Teach Beginners How To Code, RATE PLS by denvers: 3:25pm On May 07, 2021
I'll rate it 8/10, cos it's responsive and straight forward. What remains is to fill in the site with contents that deals with the various programming languages that you listed.
Programming / Re: Working Long Hours by denvers: 3:21pm On May 07, 2021
It's all about removing any form of distraction such as social media, discussions with your peers, and anything you feel can distract you for that moment.

Then you can set a target of what you want to achieve for that period, even if you are not able to meet your target, it's still a win.

That's my two cents.
