Politics › Re: Sagay To Senate: You Are The Real Enemy Of Democracy, Not IGP by deomelo: 1:03am On May 10, 2018 |
hush15: Why do you post ignorantly? The way you encourage this level of impunity and gross disobedience to constituted authority like that stupid mofo called Sagay is the very reason why this country is in disarray.
Mind you afterall, Mr President has proven time and time again that he doesnt need the budget to work, so why the fuss about thebudget when it can be passed any time! If passing of budget was that pertinent, that incompetent old man that calls himself president wont be galavanting round the globe making uncalled for comments about his own country. Atleast, he has been nigerian's money, not his personal one.
Itse Sagat or whatever he is called is a very careless man who makes careless and reckless statements because he feels he has the presidency on his side. Statements that would still come and haunt him. He encouraged Ali and many others to disregard the other arms of government and fowls the rule of law and complete disregard to constituted authorities out of personal grudge. He will be on the receiving end very soon, all na time.
And that you think like him is a very sad one Nigeria is not in disarray even though it's what many of pray, hope and wish for Nigeria and Nigerians. 1. The IG's action is in line with the constitution and he's yet to violate any law or disobey any part of the Nigerian constitution and if he did, shouldn't you at least show us the part of the law he broke or the constitution he violated. 2. The Senate is free to charge the IG for contempt of the Senate, but they know they can not because the law and the constitution are on the side of the IG. 3. Disobedience is a reflection of your own flawed sentiments and emotion because the Senate is not a supreme body, it's just another arm of the government and they function and must function under the same Nigerian constitution the IG quoted. They are not God even though many ignorant and high school dropouts on NL with zero civic education think they are. 4. In one breath, you are cone public official for not appearing before some useless and incompetent senators while at the same time supporting the same useless and incompetent senators for not doing their job by passing the National budget. 5. Do you know the meaning and consequences per not passing the budget? It means many projects and programs the average Nigerians benefit from are either going to be abandoned or not even started. It means many businesses and entities can not plan, can not forecast growth and dangerously cannot hire workers or create jobs. 6. The Nigerian senate cares less about the law, the constitution or even you the average Nigerian, they only look out for their pockets and their criminal members on trial. 7. They summon people for stupid reasons, they unlawfully interfere in criminal proceedings and abandon their duties to form solidarity delegation to visit their fellow criminals on trial or faking sickness. Again, if you are going to castigate the IG, common sense dictates that you show us the par5 of the law or the Nigerian constitution he violated. Fact is, many of you spew rubbish based on ignorance, tribalism, bigotry, politics and lack of basic civic education about your own country. |

SBG04: Oga pls read and educate yourself. Nigeria is a country of laws! It's Saraki and his clan that are the most lawless people in this country.
the functions, duties and responsibilities of the IGP as listed in Section 215 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria can also be carried out as mentioned in section 312 (1) of the Police Act and Regulation by a senior officer of the Force of the Rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police and Assistant Inspector General of Police who if permitted by the Inspector General of Police to act on his behalf or represent him in official capacity at any function, event or programme within and outside Nigeria and can do so in consonant with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulation.
He said it is on the basis of the above that while the Inspector General of Police is on an official assignment in Bauchi State that he delegated the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Operations to represent him and honour the invitation of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria in respect of the felonious offenses for which Sen. Dino Melaye was taken into Police custody, investigated and to be arraigned in the Federal High Court, Lokoja without further delay.
He added that, "Consequently, the general public are hereby implored to note that the Inspector General of Police acted rightly in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Police Act and Regulation and other extant laws by delegating the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Operations to represent him at the Senate, National Assembly on 26th April, 2018 to present the Police report, actions and findings in a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Firearms and other sundry offenses indicting Senator Dino Melaye." Well said. Sadly, we are saddled with ignorant and lawless lawmakers running around and calling themselves lawmakers. All they do is form delegation to do solidarity with criminals and lawbreakers on trial, illegally interfere in law enforcement criminal proceedings or issue illegal and unconstitutional summons. |

Yusman316: Young woman, the fbi and justice department re investigating President Donald Trump for collusion with Russia during his presidential campaign. Yet the U.S legislators did not summon anyone for explanation. Why re things always different in Nigeria and with Nigerians? Always summoning anyone that doesn't see things their way. The legislators re the ones playing dictator in this government and not the executive Nigeria copied democracy from America, but they practice their own democracy backward in Nigeria. In America where they practice real democracy, the Senate president or any member cannot be on trial and still keep their Senate seat or be involved in any confirmation proceedings of the FBI director or any law enforcement agency prosecuting their criminal cases, but i Nigeria, the Senate leader himself, his deputy and several members under him are under criminal trials and must confirm the appointment of the same man in charge of the prosecuting agency. You see this kind of nonsense only in a lawless country and warped democracy like Nigeria. The Nigerian Senate is a den for lawbreakers and institutional parasites and financial burden on Nigerians. In fact, how many bills have they passed to benefit Nigerians and move Nigeria forward? |

It's almost the middle of the year, but the worthless and incompetent senators aka National parasites are yet to pass our budget, but they won't hesitate to form delegation to visit their fellow criminals under criminal trials as if this is what their constituents sent them to the Senate to do in the name of democracy.
These clowns serve themselves, not Nigeria or any kind of democracy. |

[s] Bishopsgate: Dear deomelo
I am back home now so I have your time.
I was aware of the write up as far back as February so that's nothing new to me. The thread is doing exactly what I wanted to see.
I state once again that this deal was bloated and a bad one for Nigeria on the basis of comparative analysis.
This Brazilian aircraft was sold to other Third World countries in the past so we were not the first. Did you take time to compare the costs for Nigeria to the other countries?
Are you aware that this deal was not done directly between the two governments but between Nigeria and a private contractor in the US? The government is only involved as a matter of law that requires govt approval for weapons deals of this nature to ensure that the US doesn't arm the wrong people or governments (even though we all know that their weapons end up in terrorists' hands all over the world).
I will like to negate this write up on which you have purportedly placed your conviction that the deal is adequately priced and not inflated with the following arguments:-
1.That a deal is confirmed by a US govt agency doesn't necessarily mean the deal is not inflated. It simply means that the deal is confirmed okay in line with the laws governing arms sales by US firms.
2.That you attached the write up from that agency stating the proposed contract amount and what it covers does not mean that we Nigerians did not get the short end of the stick because the agency is not involved in the pricing. The is was agreed with the arms contractor, which is a private firm out to make profit. The company is called SIERRA NEVADA CORP which does slot of space and defence contracts for the US government and it's owned by a billionaire husband and wife.
Please read the write up below. I have s Displayed portions relevant to all to see.
SIERRA NEVADA CORP. AWARDED $172.5 MILLION TO PROVIDE SIX A-29 AIRCRAFT TO LEBANON US Department of Defense October 30, 2015 Sierra Nevada Corp., Mary Esther, Florida, has been awarded a $172,500,000 firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for six A-29 aircraft. Contractor will provide six A-29 aircraft with associated support and equipment. This contract also provides for spares, support equipment, alternate mission equipment, interim contractor support, and engineering technical services for the A-29 aircraft. Work will be performed at Mary Esther, Florida, and is expected to be complete by July 31, 2019. This contract is 100 percent foreign military sales for the republic of Lebanon"
This same aircraft was sold to Lebanon with all the so called extra stuff you quoted as being responsible for the additional $200m + on our bill at $172.5m for 6 pieces. This means each one comes to only $28.75m per plane, while the same shot sold to us with same extras comes to $41.3m each!! A difference of almost $12m per aircraft.
Please Oga can you explain this to me?
https://militaryedge.org/articles/sierra-nevada-corp-awarded-172-5-million-provide-a-29-aircraft-lebanon/
Meanwhile pease note that Nigerian youth and adults are not lazy and neither are they illiterates. I keep seeing posts where the term "illiterate" is used to describe people here on NL.
Illiteracy doe not connote stupidity nor foolishness, it's simply an inability to read and write due to a lack of modern education. Everyone on Nairaland is literate since they can read and write.
You would do better referring to the use of words like unenlightened or shallow to describe people you think are not smart but I must say that we all must be careful because even fools make sense once in a while.
First seek to understand and THEN to be understood... [/s] I can not be bother with another ignorant and unintelligent ipob rubbish.. |

An intelligent citizenry will ask:
How much did it cost to our state's coffers? Was the process of procurement transparent? Beyond environmental aesthetics, how many more jobs has a state government generated via its policies? How has tax generated from the increased economy temperature of the state affected on health care, education and basic infrastructure?
If we don't discuss the real issues, our as a society will remain bleak [/s] Lagos state is the second largest employer of labor in Nigeria and Lagos state has the lowest employment rate in Nigeria. Lagos state created N25 billion Lagos State Employment Trust Fund to create jobs and boost small-scale business activities. 1,400 Lagosians benefited from the scheme in 2017. Lagos state established 30 skills acquisition centers specifically designed to pass out job creating skills and thousands of graduates collecting small business loans to start their own businesses. Funny when ignorant people with zero knowledge about Lagos state try to sound smart but end up sounding clueless and ignorant. Even with environmental aesthetics, is it not job creation or you think they did not hire and pay people to beautify the environment and the people they hire didn't collect paychecks to feed their families with or to send their children to school or they didn't go to the market to spend the money and keep the money in circulation for other people to grow and create more jobs for other people.?
