Worthless and incompetent PDP clowns can not build or maintain anything apart, all they know how to do is steal and destroy.

The people of Osun will not destroy there beautiful PARK.

This alone means PDP is DOA in Osun state forever.

Nigeria wants to buy “10,000 tractors” from US – Aliko Dangote

Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote confirmed in an interview with NTA that Nigeria was looking to buy “about 10,000 tractors” from the United States.

According to Aliko Dangote, the tractors will help “small holder farmers” with “modern farming”. He also mentioned that Nigeria discussed about multiplying seeds “especially maize and also Soya Beans”.

He also mentioned that Nigeria will by September this year become the “highest, biggest African country in terms of export of fertilizer

Rumor mongering and ignorant ipobs, this is what Nigeria discussed and asked for, not the silly and ignorant rubbish about the US flooding Nigeria with agric produce.

which electricity has improved, as I type this I type in darkness. I doubt you are in Nigeria, which food is cheaper? Buying locally made rice with stones for almost twice the price of foreign made rice without impurities during GEJ's tenure. The only time I enjoyed almost 16hrs of power supply was wen the then minister of Power Bart nnaji was in office, the first ever to resign wen his name was abt being rubbished. I really can't understand y GEJ allowed such a good hand go.
...but they are not talking about ipobs, they are talking about Nigerians enjoying better power supply

When things are on the positive side for Nigeria, ipobs are sad and unhappy, but @ any negative news about Nigerian, ipobs are happy and excited.

...btw, Nigeria just sent fresh 500MW into the National grid with another 500MW to be ready by the end of the year.

Also, by this coming September, Nigeria is set to become the largest producer and exporter of Fertilizer.

Also by next year, largest producer and exporter of gas.

Also, the largest producer and exporter of petroleum products

We have a lot of positive news to make you perpetually sad and unhappy.

I see a lot of pain and heartache in your/ipob future...

Nelson Mandela Freedom Park: Emerging beauty for tourists, residents

Though it started small at the at the popular old garage in Osogbo, today, it is a long expanse of sprawling beauty, spanning a huge land mass from the old garage through old Ile Epo Olaiya to the old Fakunle in Osogbo, giving the sleepy town a new look expected of a city.

This long stretch beautifully sculpted and designed, encapsulates the culture, history and essence of what Osun stands for in a modern and standardized mode. Welcome to the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, a recreation spot that can be described as an unraveling profile in tourist beauty.

Today however, the recreational and aesthetic beauty of the park is a testimony of a huge turnaround in planning, beautification, aesthetics as well as cultural history and social facilities, making it a regular point of call for different classes of citizen and creating an opportunity for a night out in a safe environment among the people.

The dramatic change is so obvious and defining that people who aren’t familiar with the new layout may find it difficult to find their way around the city which is now looking completely different.

And one of the things that made a difference aside the new roads is the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, which has not only beautified but has changed the terrain and landscape of the city.

As beautiful as the park is at day, the sight at night is spectacular, making the sight and sounds of Osogbo at night an attractive experience. As expansive as the park is, the roads are well tarred and the garden has lush vegetation, landscaped to create a pretty picture of modernity, culture and history.

The whole Freedom Park is completely lit at night, giving an ambience of beyond average setting and novel euphoric experience. The park comes with a big hall for restaurants, events arena and a water fountain called the Atewogbeja Water Fountain which is surrounded with seats for people to sit, relax and enjoy the undiluted beauty of a serene environment.

And despite the movement of vehicles and human activities around, the park which is yet to be completed but is already being used by residents, stands aloof in contrast to activities going on around it, forcing anyone inside to slow down and forget the worries outside.

The emerging scenery is one of lush vegetation, landscaped to give the look of an environmentally friendly place with a garden and playground for residents and visitors while a section is constructed to serve as a venue for big events like political rallies, crusades and other social activities and a holding park for travelers who do not want to take their cars out of town, as there is a facility in place to take custody and secure their cars by the park management until they return at little cost.

The Mandela freedom park is constructed in a way that provides recreation for children and adults which features walking paths and decorative landscaping that has all the trappings of an urban infrastructure and is appropriate for physical activity for individuals and families while it can also cater for communities to gather and socialize or just relax.

The layout was planned with consideration to the needs of the physically challenged and the aged and at present, the park already playing a huge role in giving the city the shape required of a contemporary site.

When completed, the freedom park beyond adding beauty to the city, serve as recreation sites for tourists as well as residents and prove that the government is interested in urban renewal, will due to the attraction it holds for people of all classes, serve as a source of income generation for the government.

Speaking with Nigerian Tribune, one of the facility managers at the park, who declined to give his name, stated that the project is part of the beautification process of the government and a bid to upgrade the status of the ancient town to that of a city and a state capital, adding that what the government is doing is not strange as it is part of a long laid plan.

One of the people that came to relax at the park who identified himself as Mosun Adeola stated that she comes to the park most evenings after work just to unwind as the atmosphere is always calm.

“I don’t know when this became an habit but I found it so relaxing coming here to just sit and watch people and activities around; it is usually like I am watching a different world from mine and I like this. So many people come here regularly but I only come on weekdays because there are usually plenty of people here at weekends and I don’t like crowds.

“What the government did here is good, it’s like giving the people a new experience and we can proudly say we live in a city. I don’t know what motivated the government to do this but I believe it is a steep in the right direction. The town is looking so different and not as ancient as when we were growing up and coming back home to live is seriously looking like the best decision for me.

While Gov. Aregbesola deserves commendation for putting up Freedom Park it must be understood that governance is a continuum and focus must, across party lines, be on the person suited to replace him.
Well said, you are right about continuum across party lines, but the PDP as a political party and their ideology are totally the opposite of progress and development.

Look across and all over Nigeria, show us 1 single performing PDP state or governor with anything meaningful to show. None.

The lousiest and the most incompetent governor in the SW is a PDP governor/Fayose.

PDP as a political party and culture is all about incompetence and corruption.

Adeosun is one of the shining light of this administration. She was able to successfully manage the economy and finances of the country at time when crude oil revenue went as low as $25. Things can only get better as the economy of the country continues to improve. I wish her the best in her sojourn in APC.
..but when oil was selling for $80 in 2014, the lazy, clueless and incompetent world bank Okonjo surrendered, she declared and introduced austerity measures.

Just imagine useless okonjo's response with oil selling for $25.

Kemi Adeosun is a very smart, intelligent and competent woman and member of this administration.

You listed just 2, so, the PDP in Osun only delivered 2 projects before Aregbesola?

Is this what you are saying?

Where are the roads, bridges, waterworks, schools, healthcare facilities, parks and recreation and so on?

So, the PDP only managed to deliver just 2 projects before Aregbe?

the second school you posted here isn't Fakunle but unity high school, osogbo. all the names of the schools will be reversed back when the pdp governor take over from Ogbeni on September 22. Fakunle comprehensive high school will be rebuild back by pdp government.

The above thread is full of so many reasons why the PDP is and shall remain irrelevant and persona non grata in Osun state.

which standard has he set here. by not building historical Fakunle comprehensive high school that was pulled down by his government. please what's Ogbeni doing on that place again. the place is now den of thieves and professional smokers. so so pathetic. Ogbeni failed his people by not paying his workers salaries and pensioners. pensioners are been owed for months now. he didn't even promote them. I don't see any legacy he has laid. he only showcase his failures in the second term by not yielding to people's advice. do you know how many strikes that have been done among all the state tertiary institutions in the state. he only borrowed sukuk loans to build schools and roads that will take 3 decades for the incoming government to pay the sukuk loans.

New Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo

I remember back in 2014 when the school was pulled down. His excuse at that time was the motor park nature and the environment around the school which wasn't conducive for learning.

He moved the students to Unity High School near the stadium, but there's a new Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo which is a million times better than the one he pulled down

As you can see, he replaced the school with a new and better school.
nice question here. I will mention 10 here. you will count before you get tired. pdp under Oyinlola built gigantic uniosun, Oyinlola built center of black culture and international understanding in Abeere, UNESCO ranked it second in West Africa . pdp under Oyinlola built roads linking from okefia till NUT junction. pdp under Oyinlola government built road from old garage to Akoda junction. all of them are double lane. pdp under Oyinlola start free meal feeding starting from kindergarten level to primary four pupils. pdp under Oyinlola built road from olaiya junction to Ita olokan junction. pdp under Oyinlola built schools. pdp under Oyinlola equipped Lautech teaching hospital to world-class standard, where the first heart surgery was performed under his government. pdp under Oyinlola built road linking from osun capital hotel to aregbe campaign office.
Roads and schools that you can not even show us...

Unfortunately for you, Aregbesola did more and built more infrastructures in less than 8 years than all the previous governors combined since the creation of Osun state.

We can show you what Aregbesola built

I agree with you on governance of progress and development but with accountability and not exaggerated figures
Can you bring the debt profile on par and make comparison.
Borrowing to pay salary before the advent of APC in Osun?

I route for good administrator anyway and not party sentiment
To start with Osogbo was another old looking and ancient city before Aregbesola, but instead of sitting down to complain about lack of development and no money to do anything, he went to work, he borrowed money and transformed his state in less than 8 years.

Osogbo changed from the typical image of an old underdeveloped city into an emerging modern metropolis in a very short time.

The workers and the people of Osun saw what he did with their money and you can say whatever you want about that man, but you can not say he stole his people's money, he bought this and that mansion, stash money abroad or all the nonsense associated with the PDP and even crooked and corrupt Omisore the DASUKI/ATM money recipient.

Today, salaries are up to date, Osun state's IGR grew by 34%

Osun state is 2nd in lowest poverty rating in Nigeria

Osun state is the 2nd wealthiest state in Nigeria

Osun State Ranked 2nd In Human Capital Development

Osun is 2nd less miserable and poverty-ridden state in 2017

Osun is the most peaceful state in Nigeria

Osun state is 2nd in the lowest unemployment rate in Nigeria

Is there any positive positive rating or index Osun is not leading in?

It's not by accident, it's smart, credible and competent public administration

Wasn't really a criminal hideout but an eyesore.

Sawmills relocated
Rasco Cinema was a deserted building for many years back and still not part of the freedom Park.
Motorpark is still in that place.
Very more than enough reason to do something tangible and worthwhile with that location and the government did the right thing.

I still don't the meaning of the sawmill you keep bringing up, it's like saying you prefer the dirty old sawmill to still be there instead of the beautiful freedom park,

They tried to maintain a status quo to avoid indebtedness. They therefore had to look into the university, stadium etc. which was handed-over to the next governor. I'm not a politician though but at least salaries were paid. I am not disproving the fact that Aregbe also contributed his own quota
Governance is all about progress and development, not status quo, full stop or to remain stagnant, debt or no debt.

Sadly, this mentality did not stop the PDP from leaving us in debt and darkness with zero infrastructure, lack of progress and development even though they earned more oil money. They left office borrowing billions to pay salary till their last day in office.
