why did ambode became governor? Is not when Yoruba Christians cries out over been marginalized by Yoruba Muslims? So don't say what u don't know OK
The fact regardless the Christian/Muslim nonsense you are talking about, we still a Christian governor which clearly shows that at the end of the day, religion doesn't define us and you can become a governor or attain any public office regardless of your religion which can never happen in your village religious hatred, bigotry and discrimination what you eat, breath and live by.

I don't see you as a people electing a Muslim or folks from other tribes outside your land into any political office simply because you are not socially matured and developed to do that.

You people even gave Rochas, a Christian-Muslim, Hausa and derogatory name simply because he is in the same political party with Muslims and people outside your land.

We are politically and socially matured than you people and lack of social and communal development is really what's holding you back, you are just not socially developed enouh to function and interact successfully in any society.

Politics › Re: Igbos Need To Stop Acting Like Minorities And Play Nigerian Politics by deomelo:

.

1. Okorocha was already a governor under APGA before he joined APC, he didn't need APC to be or remain Imo governor, APC needed him to have a foothold in Igboland.
So, he just ran under the APC without the APC sanctioning his candidacy.

If he did not need APC, then why bother joining the APC instead of remaining with AGPA and whatever foothold you are talking about.

He obviously joined the APC because he say good future and opportunities that AGPA and PDP doesn't offer.

You need to leave sentiments alone and deal with realities and facts.

2. This discussion was all about Ethnic politics, not about party politics, it was you who derailed it to party politics. An Igbo man was Buhari VP twice before a Yoruba became twice, so this your narrative of Igbos not playing party politics was BID.
3. Yes, considering the votes APC got in Imo state at state level, Imo has been treated same as every other SE state, how dare you demand for more votes from Ndiigbo?
SE only got appointments that the constitution made impossible for her to be deprived of, even the proposed infrastructural loan had SE totally bypassed, not even Imo was included, same with SME loans. https://www.nairaland.com/3434857/federal-government-leaves-out-south
4. APC has proven itself to be an anti Igbo party that is totally out to marginalize Ndiigbo, even mallam Okorocha acknowledged this, https://www.google.com.ng/amp/www.vanguardngr.com/2017/02/despite-efforts-nothing-show-seast-part-nigeria-okorocha/amp/

So, the people were right in rejecting APC from the start, APC had proven us right.
Sorry, I don't recognize that newspaper as a credible news media.

Even calling the man mallam is another example of the insults, hatred and bigotry you people throw at each other in that region.

Very sad.

5.Exactly, at least we agree on this. PDP or APC, Ndiigbo would continue to be marginalized by Nigerians and denied of big sensitive posts, presidency included, this has nothing to do with party or Igbos not building bridges, cos no Nigerian group had built more political bridge since the return of democracy in 1999.

Telling us to leave PDP for APC, is silly, as APC is no different from PDP.
The only bridge you built and have been building is with the PDP and you are still crying even though you've gained nothing from the PDP.

I don't even get your PDP/APC excuse. Shebi AGPA is your own local and regional political party? Please tell us why you did not present any candidate for president and instead outsourced it to the PDP.

Fact is, you are PDP from top to bottom.

ACN was SW regional party, but they formed alliance with groups and parties outside their region to win the presidency.

What political party or groups outside the SE have you joined to achieve your goals? None, I mean none. All you do is sit right there in your region and cry marginalization when in fact you are the one marginalizing yourself.

6.2nd Niger bridge and Igboland roads werent built by Yoruba ( OBJ) , Arewa ( Yaradua), SS minority ( GEJ) presidents under PDP, and as we have seen, it's still not going to be built by an Arewa ( Buhari) president under APC. The issue is beyond party politics.
You really should be ashamed if after 16 years of following and give almost 100% your votes to a political party and still end up with nothing.

And you have no reasonable or any moral right to opine that a barely 2 year old government won't do what your 16 years worthless PDP couldn't do.

We know about the past and you can not tell us anything about the future and besides, there is money on the table for the bridge so you miss road on that one.

7. No group had worked more than Ndiigbo in building bridges with Nigerian groups, Okorocha is currently a pariah in the East for reaching out to APC, where is the reward for him and Imo state? Totally schemed out in key appointments and infrastructures/ developmental grants. You have no point.
The only bridge you build is called hatred and bigotry, same you are displaying in this thread even against your own people.

Last I checked, Fashola just commissioned 100 unit housing estate in Imo.

Abeg show us the one the PDP commissioned.

8. SE governors are commissioning projects too, we are not just into propaganda like some people
Stop spewing what you can not prove with facts. Show us the projects of lay off that claim because we know it's all lies.

[s]
Enugu was slowly built up into a standard city rated higher than all cities in SW by Resilient city international, despite Awolowo hijacking the funds meant for Eastern region rehabilitation after the war, and diverting it to SW, yet no one noticed when those developmental strides took place, because we are silent achievers.
[/s]

Empty and shallow chest beating bore me.

All you people do is lie and boast with rubbish that you can not show us. Are they starting and commissioning the projects on MARS?

FG had sited little or no major project in the past in SE, and Buhari continued in the pattern when he attempted to totally lock SE out in the proposed infrastructural loans, other regions can't be enjoying FG patronage, and you inspect SE not to demand such because you ignorantly believe our local leaders are not doing enough , you would be a demonic for pursuing such line of thought, as there is nothing on ground to show that SW or any other Nigeria region leaders are outdoing those of SE in infrastructural development.

What we do with our allocations is known of your business, it's no justification for you to think you can conviniently starve us of our entitlements.
Just another ignorant babbles. Stay in your region with your PDP and tribal politics while the rest of the world carry on with progress and development,

Op, we Yoruba's don't hate the Igbo people, I'm not sure of others though. The problem of Igbo's within the Nigerian context is inferiority complex. The Igboman thinks if his kinsmen are not heading the Federal Government, he is a second class citizen. He also believe that if his kinsman is not elected a governor in states other than their own, he is therefore a second d class citizen. This line of the thinking should stop.

Igbo's don't pay enough attention to the developments of their home states like other Nigerians are doing. The resulting underdevelopment of the Southeast region as a result of general neglect by southeasters is a major reason why they are not proud to be Nigerians.

Unfortunately, Igbo's blame everybody else except themselves for the par!ous state of things over there.

No one in Nigeria loves Igbos than Yorubas; immediately after the civil just like before it, Yorubas opened their land, farms, markets, towns, businesses, houses, free education, hospitals, etc. to Igbos so as to prosper and recover their losses during the war. Gains from their businesses and properties during the war were also returned to them. Many of them made millions and started developing East. There was a time in Ondo State that Igbo made up a very large number of Bursars, etc in the public institutions, You would never heard of them being sacked. God in His infinite mercies has been prospering Yorubas because of their good hearts. Awolowo did all he could to stop the catastrophe of the civil war but he was still being blamed by Igbos till today due to lies and their hatred that can't hold water.
The greatest Igbo man to me now is Nnamani; he was abused for charging his people to acquire education and be where decisions that would affect them are being made. Take for example, a single government policy or Hausa person below level 15 cader may bankrupt an Igbo billionaire importer when decisions not favouring him is made because his own people are not where decisions are being made.
Well said jare. They say people hate them when in fact they breath and eat hate and bitterness everyday.

Adding to your point.

Look at the case of abandon property. Every property and every kobo in Yorubaland was kept and returned to them after the war, but such is not the case elsewhere in Nigeria, even in the SS their own backyard.

Is it even possible to peacefully accommodate millions your people, give your sons and daughters government appointments and positions an still hate you at the same time?

It beats me why they love to demand from people what they themselves can not offer other people.

How is Okorocha being a governor of Imo state a reward from APC, are you well at all?

No. It's up to APC to prove to us their credentials by providing equal appointments and allocations to Igboland states already under APC in the East, the onus is on them to prove to us how supporting them will be different from us supporting PDP, and so far, considering Okorocha lamentations we already know the answer to that question.
You mentioned reward so exactly how do you reward if not by creating political opportunities for them to run under the party banner, get elected, build political structures to allow them to even aim higher all the way to presidential level.

Would you have preferred the APC saying vote for us, but we won't allow any of your sons and daughters run under our banner for any political office because that goes with your narrative that other people hate you and doesn't give you opportunities

How dare you to even utter the phrase peripheral appointments when even after not voting for the party, APC still rightfully so gave the region federal appointments from Ministerial to agency directors, ambassadors and so on.

Saying APC should credential candidates from the region is you talking from both sides of your mouth and I/m not even sure if you yourself really understand your own pointless argument because APC credentialed candidates in the region to run under their banner, but the hateful and bigoted people in that region refused to vote for them.

All you do is demand and demand without putting your own skin in the game hence the OP's assertions. Nothing comes easy or handed to you for free. Do your own job before demanding same from other people.

.They credentialed Ngige right?...but what did you do, instead of voting for him, you refused to and even abused him and his part, but the party did not take any offence and they made him a federal minister regardless of your own ibo on ibo treachery.

Again, stop being an hypocrite and stop talking from both sides of your mouth.

And talking about allocation and how to prove they are different from the PDP. No, it is up to you to prove to yourself that you can be objective and not shortsighted when you vote for candidates. Was the PDP any different from the PDP you voted for since 1999? What have they done for you? Nothing.

IS 2nd NB built after decades of false promises by the PDP including jona swearing to send himself into exile if he did not build that bridge, but you still give the same PDP all your votes even though they failed you time after time, no bridge, no federal roads for any kind of presence.

...but today, federal roads in that region are under construction or rehabilitation, there is money on the table for 2nd NB.

If it's about immediate appointments to party men, no matter how peripheral the appointment might be and not meaningfula infrastructural development and representation of Ndiigbo in relevant appointments and federal government schemes, then APC is no different from PDP, I'd even say that PDP was better, as Igbo party men there got juicier portfolios than APC is currently offering Igbos in their midst.
Your problem is shortsightedness.

How do you gain maximum benefits from anything in life? You work for it, you put your skin in the game. You want to eat, but you don't want to work. It's called laziness and lazy mentality.

You want everything to be handed to you on a platter of gold while abusing and disrespecting the same person holding the platter of gold?

You have governors collecting taxes and allocations so ask them for infrastructures. Your local and elected officials are responsible for your basic welfare and infrastructures. Other states outside that region are commissioning projects everyday and not sitting around for the FG for anything thing, but not you people, you want daddy to brush your teeth for you, you want them to tie your shoes for you.

Face your governors and when election times comes, vote for APC candidates instead of denying them your votes, abusing or acting as if they are your enemies because even the ones they credentialed for you to vote for, you did not vote for them, instead you spewed ignorance and bigotry against them.

Fashola's work is enough to fill more than 10 pages on NL, but Ambode's work can not fill 1 single page.

Fashola's work goes beyond overhead bridge and basic roads which so far is Ambode's preoccupation which is very basic and non ground breaking per Lagos standard, but no governor in Nigeria past or present can overtake Fashola's achievements because his body of work was very comprehensive and across the board.

It's not only up to APC to select and support any man or woman for any position, it's also up to you to support and campaign for them, unlike the hate, bigotry and bitterness you threw at Ngige , your own brother just because he ran under APC.

And talking about reward, APC did not leave him hanging because he was rewarded with federal position, a Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.

Afam, this your thread is ill thought and totally unnecessary, I for one don't know what you wanted to achieve with it.
Create a fertile ground for Igbo bashing from chronic Igbophobic beings or pity party seeking for poor hapless Igbo people from Nigerians? Afam, nawa for you o!
Ike gwuru.
Igbos voted for Obj, a Yoruba man in 1999,2003.
Many Igbo people were prominent in Obj government and were loyal to him, yet Ndiigbo couldn't even get VP post from PDP and OBJ in 2007, even Igbos in denial of their Igbo identities like Odilli were schemed out of the VP post because he was considered not non Igbo enough.

Igbos still voted for Yaradua and we had prominent Igbos in his government. Yet this is not bridge building, right?

We still voted for GEJ, yet another non Igbo in 2011 and 2015, and because of this Arewa-Oduanistans have been convulsing, telling all who cared to listen how Ibis are naive politically, but they had no problem when we were voting for OBJ and Yaradua.

Afam, you are simply a victim of Yoruba propaganda, I can't believe you are this gullible.
No Nigerian group since the return of democracy had built more bridges than Ndiigbo, we had voted massively for a Yoruba candidate( 1999,2003), Northern candidate(2007), South South candidate ( 2011,2015), we owe no Nigerian group nada as it stands, they are the ones who are yet to return favours we extended to them, we have built enough bridges.

The Igbo issue is not about bridge building, as we had already established from political historical antecedents of Nigerian nascent democracy, it's much deeper than that and it sure had nothing to do with the support we gave to a minority called GEJ, as we had earlier given same support to OBJ and Yaradua and the result wasn't different.
OBJ and all the people you listed are members of the same PDP which ibo people massively vote for regardless who is at the top.

You even gave all your votes to the PDP full of the same hausa people instead of your own home grown hero, ojukwu.

And you voted for OBJ based on his political party and not because he was a Yoruba man, the same reason Yoruba people did not vote for him based on his political party

If you are going to use that excuse, start by voting for a different poitical party apart from the same PDP you and your people are still tied to.

Vote for a Yoruba man from a different party, then we'll take you seriously.

If all this gibberish is to make igbos accept APC, you just wasted space here. Okoroawusa is the most hated politician in igboland today, not only because of his association with a fulani supremacist organisation like the APC, but also because of his all-round failure in governance as he sees Imo state as another avenue to continue his 419 business he began in Jos.
This is the kind of hate you people spew all over the place, even against your own fellow ibo simply because he's part of a different political party.

If APC is Hausa party, then what is the PDP the SE sold out to and gave 99% of their votes? Do they not have hausa people and even hausa president that you voted for instead of your own home grown AGPA?

Did you not even voted for the PDP/hausa man instead of AGPA/Ojukwu, your own Hero?

Was Ekwueme not VP to hausa man? So we should just go ahead and call Ekwueme, Ekwuemehusa right?
