Look at lagos states revenue in his 8 years in office, whether Oil or IGR. look at what he delivered and tell me again where the money went. If it were Oyo state or ogun state I will understand, this is Lagos state....more money than the whole of Ghana!!!!

Now that he is in the Federal level what has he done? Anybody can look like a star when you are presiding over the revenue base of lagos and have uninformed gullible citizens.

How many MW has he added to the National grid? bear in mind he met about 5000MW, we need 40000Mw. What plan has he shown you to get there?

yeye SAN bamboozling the masses with Court English....I don't sign cheques!!!

Yeye dey smell!!!!

You don't know Lagos state or anything about Fashola hence your ignorant assertions.

The joker is even talking about Fashola adding MW to the national grid when in fact power in Nigeria was privatized years ago and totally out of his hands.

You ignorant people bore me for real.

fashola came in when oil was $120 a barrel, I have 1st hand knowledge of contracts were awarded under fashola. I can tell you Lagosians did not get value for money. if Fashola is such a genuis let us see his hand in electricity...abi?
What's the price of oil got to do with Lagos state? Was Fashola collecting revenue for oil on behalf of the FG and spending it all on Lagos state?

You people come up with the silliest and ignorant argument for real.

Fashola's 2nd year budget was N445.180 billion

Ambode's 2nd year budget is N813 billion. Almost doubled Fashola's budget.

...but in Fashola's 2nd year, he's already commissioned many schools, roads, bridges, hospitals, water works, power plants, housing estates, skill centers, drivers institutes, jetties, maternity centers and so on

While in Amobde's 2nd year, all we have so far are pedestrian bridge and flyover even though his budget doubles Fashola's budget.

All you people do is spew ignorant rubbish.

Many thanks for being civil....i appreciate that.

Kindly see my reasons below:

1) Deporting of Igbos and Hausas from Lagos.....i have never heard in my adult life that someone can be deported from his own country till fashola,a supposed lawyer did that.

2)Total neglect of all projects in Igbo dominated areas like festac, okota, amuwo odofin, satellite down to okoko...you need to see what Ambode has done in these areas in less than 2years.

Regards
Stop taking rubbish. Akpabio deported Lagosians from akwa ibom and Lagosians did not cry, Lagos deported people from yoruba states and they did not cry, but only tribalistic ipobs cry over everything.

Below is one of Fashola s projects in the areas you mentioned.

1. Lagos will have thee largest single oil refinery in the world.

2. Lagos will have the largest fertilizer plant in Africa

3. Lagos will have the largest petrochemical plant in Africa.

4. Lagos will have the largest gas plant in Africa

5. Lagos will move from the 5th largest economy in Africa to the 3rd largest in Africa

So Wats d actual benefit. Even ambode won't want other tribes to leave Lagos. So why d whole argument on dis trend?
Do they have to pay you to love and show pride in your own state and region?

And of what relevance it is to you what other people love and acknowledge?

The fact that you don't love your own state and you have nothing to show for your own state doesn't mean other people should not when it comes to their state and region so mind your own business and get over yourself.

If other states didn't think of it initially, they can still start their own. The sky is big enough.

The Lagos State House of Assembly later passed a bill on 12th of May, 2013 establishing Ibile Oil and Gas Corporation, which was subsequently signed into law on June 11 2013 by Governor Babatunde Fashola authorizing the state government to invest and engage in Oil and Gas activities in the state.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/lagos-long-walk-oil-wells/
While I welcome this move by Ambode, I just have to once again credit the visionary leader before him who with great foresight to not only sign Ibile Oil and gas bill into law, but also authorized to enter the oil business.

Predecessors sets the vision and agenda, and the incumbents pushes it to the next level.

You just have to love these Lagos governors.

That relocation was very painful. Ondo just lost billions worth of investment over land matter! That should tell you how un serious some of our governors are. He should have done everything to make it stay there.
Lagos gave away over 2 thousand acres of the most valuable/coastal land in Africa to Dangote, but all Mimiko and Ondo state had to give up was some less valuable bush land in Ondo state.

The general Psyche of leaders in Lagos is way too superior and un-Nigerian. They think more about state than self and politics.

When they say Eko o ni baje, they know what they are talking about.

...The best example is the relocation of dangote refinery from Ondo states to Lagos.LAGOS??.....LAGOS AGAIN.I was highly disappointed.

I latet learnt fashola/tinubu won him over taking advantage of mimiko lack of incentives and encouragement from him.
Fashola did everything under the sun to move that project from Ondo to Lagos state. Mimiko and his unintelligent PDP clowns thought it was politics, but Fashola was eyeing economics and monumental $15 billion investments and sustained and decades of IGR base for his state.

Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Prince Folusho Adefemi, yesterday criticised the alleged relocation of the proposed Dangote Refinery from Ondo state to another location in Lagos state.
According to him, the refinery project would have provided more than 500,000 skilled, semi-skilled and non-skilled labour force in the state.

Speaking after his tour of the 18 local government areas to mobilise delegates for next month’s primary election, Adefemi promised that the refinery would be relocated to the state as he would use his cordial relationship with Alhaji Aliko Dangote, if he eventually gets the mandate of the people as governor, to urge a rethink.

Some even said Tinubu is the reason why Ibaka seaport was abandoned under Jona

The kind bullocks yarns wey I dey read for here ehn grin
Despite the yearly allocation of several billions of naira for the construction of a proposed greenfield deep seaport at Ibaka in Akwa Ibom State by both the State Government and the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) since 2011, the project has remained elusive, with no evidence of a port being built at the proposed site.

The project is missing in the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan and in the list of similar projects planned in partnership between the federal government and state government, with expectations of private investors collaborations, investigations by LEADERSHIP have revealed.

The Ibaka Deep Seaport, a project for which the federal ministry of transport, the NPA and the Akwa Ibom State Government have held several workshops and taken commendations at several events is also missing in a maritime and air transport report prepared by Steer Davies Gleave for the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) hosted by

The African Development Bank.

The study, which was carried out to assess the potential for enhanced private participation in the maritime and air transport sectors in Africa however identified the Lekki Deep Seaport measuring 970m of container berths, 320m dry bulk berth, 1-2 oil berths and located 60km east of Lagos.

The Badagry greefield port, Koko Port and Olokola Port were also listed with their capacity and promoters.

The water at Ibaka is said to have a natural draft of 11 metres, without dredging, making it a huge potential for possible deep seaport construction.

Akwa Ibom State has continued to budget for the port, which Governor Godswill Akpabio said would create employment for 100,000 Nigerians.

The NPA had also told LEADERSHIP in Uyo at the PCC meeting that the deep seaport would be completed in 2015.

When LEADERSHIP visited the proposed site of the deep seaport at Ibaka, there was nothing to show that a seaport was being planned at coastal community.

A lonely dilapidated narrow road, better described as a colonial road leads to Ibaka, from Oron. As early as 2011, the Akwa Ibom State Governor told a Nigeria Ports Consultative Council (PCC) meeting in Uyo that his government had concluded plans to dualise the road.

http://allafrica.com/stories/201312160580.html
Akpabio budgeted billions for the same Ibaka every year while in office, but no ibaka seaport. Akpabio pocket every kobo grin

ODVanguard:
Exactly. The state doesn't even get to keep it's VAT, revenues generated via her ports, land and air borders which all go to the FG, yet she has managed to continue to look inwards, increase her IGR, and aim higher as a state. Honestly, IMO, even if it's just for administrative convenience, Nigeria should be restructured for the benefit of all.
With what Lagos is generating including from VAT, it's no brainer that what is good for Lagos is good for the rest of Nigeria because this is the internally generated funds that funds projects and developments in other states.

Look at IGR and the huge amount Lagos is collecting. Many people here still abuse Tinubu and call him names. When he was the governor, he met a state generating less than N500 million a month in a state with very huge population and un-taxed public, privat and informal sectors so he brought in Alpha Beta to handle the problem and even though many people complained and made a lot of noise that he owned the company and is milking Lagos state, but facts remain that Lagos state grew their IGR from measly N500 million per month to N33 billion per month today and many states in Nigeria are using the same Alpha Beta today for the same reason. Thanks to the same Tinubu for having that foresight and vision.

The fact that Lagos state is blessed with a huge tax base is not enough and you can not take that fact to the bank, you still have to work hard, put good tax collection system in place and go out there to collect that money while at the same time keep innovating and remain in good economic position to keep generating more funds.

Many states state leaders are not only lazy and incompetent, they are void of good ideas and not even mentally sophisticated so it's very hard for them to come up with anything to move their states forward.
