It's wonderful that so many people are FIGHTING about our dear country

@

ima1 and beemex please sheathe the sword. I know it just different interpretation of your undying love for Nigeria

Let leave the fight for Oyinbos to fight. The battle line will be drawn in 12 years time grin
PoliticsRe: No Nigerian Citizenship For British By Marriage by deor03(m): 7:05pm On Jul 03, 2008
This is just the beginning.

People with obvious tribal marks ( 33, whiskers, etc) with ORANGE/BLUE ( or whatever the colour other than GREEN with eagle) will soon be denied entry visa into Nigeria; if they can't justify that they will return to their Cold.

Better seize the opportunity of this e-passport to try to get a Green passport because by year 2020, it might be easier for a camel to pass through a needle than for you to get a Nigerian green passport, visa

Abeg, let me go and check my Green pali under my bed before some Oyinbo boys steal it grin grin

PoliticsRe: Lagos To Use Cctv Units To Monitor Crime by deor03(m): 3:30pm On Jul 03, 2008
Very Good development. With the coming of the new ID card scheme project in December, creating a database for Nigerians, crime fighting will not be as hard as it is today.

Also CCTV tends to deter people from committing crime in the first place.

Assuming the Nuclear programme goes ahead and considering the appalling way projects are managed in our dear country.

Which region of Nigeria do you thin will offer it's land for the plant considering the HIGH possibility of environmental pollution?

North?

South East?

South West?

Definitely not Niger delta.

PoliticsRe: Do You Think FG Is Being Fair To Niger Delta? by deor03(m): 5:28pm On Jun 29, 2008

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How Shell Played On Our Intelligence by deor03(m): 4:07pm On Jun 29, 2008
With all due respect, i think Niger delta youth should not let their job search end at the door steps of Oil companies.

I have several Niger delta friends that would most likely turn down oil company offers because of what they are doing now.

Oil companies just like other companies recruit people to fill into roles, not just employ a number of guys to fill a quota.

Besides there are a couple of small companies paying heavily, giving international travels and training, opportunity to network and grow that even the like of shell, Mobil will not give.

PoliticsRe: Dont Waste Your Your Soldiers: Militants Tells The President by deor03(m): 9:27pm On Jun 28, 2008
These guys are not as determined and focused as the brave biafran soldiers. You need to read accounts of the Biafran war.

These are just a bunch of criminals seizing the opportunity of the neglect of the Niger delta to perform the acts of their criminality.

These militants are not freedom fighters, their morale will be dampened easily by heavy artillery fire.
How many of them have the type of courage Ken Saro Wiwa had or the courage of Ojukwu of the 60s or the Vietnamese heroes?

Is Asari Dokubo not an example of the depth of their struggle.
PoliticsRe: Dont Waste Your Your Soldiers: Militants Tells The President by deor03(m): 3:51pm On Jun 28, 2008
coolier:
What army? "A hungry man is an angry man"!!!
If you want to know which army my dear , i will recommend 2 books

1. Why we struck by Ademola Ademoyega
2. My Command by Olusegun Obasanjo

What the millitants are doing now is just propaganda and it is important in warfare. This was done doing the Biafra disaster. The millitants have no chance of survival in a full scale warefare.

Warfare is mostly won in the air, even as far back as 1967-1970 the airforce was very instrumental. Do you think they can survive the onslaught of the airforce, supported y the barricade of the Navy on the Sea. And then the the Army on the Bayelsa, and Abia Axis. If all their supplies are cut off( food, arms, crude bunkering), how long do you think a bunch of undisciplined thugs will last?

God forbid a full scale war, I am sure the millitants are praying silently against this, just as i am praying loudly against it; they will not survive more than 8 weeks of constant shelling.
By the grace of God it would never get to that
RomanceRe: Silly Things We Have Done For Love! Confession Time by deor03(m): 2:42am On Jun 28, 2008
MY own mumu almost cost  me my life

There was NO gsm, so i had to always travel to see her. All i  get for the effort was smooching.I didn't really care, i was in love

The stress of the trip was horrendous.  from my school in Ogbomosho to hers in Benin

From  School
Ogbomosho to Oshogbo (The type bus was usually filled with market women, farmers)
Oshogbo to Ore ( Rickety cars and full of illiterates, they don't even sell gala on the route. Akara was the only snacks)
Ore to Benin (I was almost kidnapped on this route, only to be rescued by Mobile police, i would have been history now!!)

Only for me to go visiting sometimes in may 2000 and met her in an uncompromising way with her male "friend". She had no remorse what happened and made me feel worthless. I was actually a broke ass, who was in love then,

As God would have it, SIX years later. Level had changed. I was in Benin to work on a project , I had an official car( which was a jeep), with a driver and mobile police attached to me. I was just talking to someone when her name was mentioned.
I just told the person to get her details for me, and eventually i got her number, ,.,., What did i do? oh la la la.  Made her the mumu. Did not feel bad about it anyway grin

Blue boy,
No point joining issues with you. You apparently don't understand the kind of Federal structure we have on ground here in Nigeria - or maybe you know, but you just want to be myopic! Good luck.

I dey wait for better people to respond.
@ Ono

You are probably running away from the obvious.

Can the Niger delta governors please tell US what they have done with the allocation they have been receiving?

What is the attitude of the citizens to development. Many of them have been brain washed to believe that destroying anything is equal to fighting for the Niger delta.
I was opportune to work on some private developmental telecommunications projects across Nigeria some years back, when we commission projects in some  places other that Niger delta, the people of the areas  showers praises, encomiums and gifts on us.

In the Niger delta, it is the opposite. We work with armed protection on project that are supposed to better the life of the people.

They kidnap contractors that are supposed to make roads for them. They kidnap Engineers that are supposed to work on electricity projects. So do you think Niger delta will ever be like Abuja with this uncouth attitude to life?

CultureRe: Can You Tell A Nigerian By Their Face? by deor03(m): 7:03pm On Jun 24, 2008
You  know an ibo by the shape of their head and pronounced feature, well built . especially the guys e.g http://jimbicentral.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/06/04/nigerianborn_movie_star_zach_orji.jpg

Also, akwa ibom  are usually short, round faced, e.g http://www.internationalreports.net/africa/nigeria/akwa%20ibom%202005/images/victor_attah.jpg

Northerners are quite easy, usually skinny, e.g http://www.unesco.org/delegates/nigeria/YaraduaAtUnitedNations.jpg

Yoruba ladies have usually loaded and beautiful e.g  https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=92853

Ibo girls are usually light skinned, of have gap tooth , beautiful e.g https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=81427

There are exeptions to this though, i personally fall into the category.    My tribal origin is not easy to know, because i don't have the usual features of my tribe

The Nigerian Armed Forces have explained that they are not at war with the militants in the Niger Delta who have been blowing up oil installations and kidnapping people in the region, saying that their presence in the area was to protect innocent Nigerians rather than fight the militants.

They also ruled out a full scale attack on the militants and said they cannot turn their weapons against their country men when the matter could be amicably settled.

Speaking in Abuja on Monday when he paid a courtesy visit on the Editor, Northern Operations of The Sun Newspapers, Mr. Eric Osagie, the Acting Defence Director of Information, Navy Captain Sinebi Hungiapuko said, “we don’t have the powers to automatically flush them out.”

He informed that as a military, they can only launch a flush out attack on those militants when they receive orders from the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, President Umaru Musa Yar Adua to do so.
