I think the Nigerian Military is being very careful about the Niger delta situation. There is a thin Line between what is going on there now and a full scale war. It is most difficult to fight war against your country men. A battalion of the Nigerian Army has representatives of all the regions of the country, including the south-south. How do you convince, a bayelsa infantry soldier to lead an assault in the Niger delta? As far back as 2003, a captain friend of mine told me that some of his soldiers of South-south origin disappeared when there was a confrontation with the millitants. Learning from our unfortunate history ( 1967-1970), I guess you will understand why the military is arm twisted about the present situation. @ Topic: A Nigerian soldier just like most Nigerians will not do anything solely based on patriotism. Just like A Nigerian Bankers that aids the transfer of loot to foreign Banks ( Or how did you think Abacha carried the loot to Swiss banks) A Nigerian Abroad, who just sits behind a computer and condemn the system without taking any constructive action A Nigerian Teacher , who tell students to settle before passing |

tope2000:I am very seriuos oh. very serious. It's more that the surface meaning oh. The stress of a Nigerian owanbe marriage might not make a man randy enough to want to engage the bridesmaid. It might be jazz oh. |
Also there could be good reasons for the incident 1. The guy might be testing his apparatus before commisioning for the main duties 2. It might be the devil at work , maybe the bride DID NOT pray enough. 3. The wedding might have be fixed for April 1st, maybe it's just an april fool |
ikamefa:It better unto a man to do all he wants to do before marriage. After marriage is more important. |
Templa:Rebuke the devil ( your bridesmaid) Marriable guys are scarce commodities, don't waste the opportunity oh ![]() |

@ seeklove I stand by you 100%. All these American/ UK apologist do not see anything good about Nigeria. We have problems just like but the media ( western controlled) blow it out of proportion. Have you ever wondered why CNN/BBC will show oshodi when reporting about Nigeria and yet show high streets in Johanesburg when reportingon SA. Crime rate in SA is far higher than what is obtainable in Nigeria but do you see a reflection of that in the media? We have the largest concentration of BLACK people in the world , so we shouldn't expect anything less. |
Is Nigeria a Nation? Is it possible for me to stay in Lagos for 10 years and claim to be a citizen of Lagos? Is it possible for me to pay tax to rivers state for 10 years and say i want to be a councillor? How come Nigerian with yoruba tribal marks carry British passport and they are accorded all the right given to other fellow citizen? For real, i am sick an tired of all this nepotism. Why can't we just clamour for the best set of people who can do the job irrespective of their tribe. Experience has shown that the fact that a Yoruba man rules Nigeria for 30 years will not make Yoruba land paradise. Look at Lagos, that state is doing better now under Yaradua than it was under Obasanjo. This generation of Nigerian should not be drawn into this mess called tribal politics. It has been practised for the past 50 years without any headway; it would never bring progress, NEVER!!!. |
Engr. Just to let you know that , power is generated as HV ( 330KV, 132 KV) to take care for power loss due to transmission. Mambilla is NOT entirely a Bad idea, since it can take care of the North Eastern part of the country. The is a 132KV transmission substation in Gombe that actually takes care of Yola Zone |

Nigerian rulers have been playing tribal politics for 48 years. Funny enough , we ,the masses do all the shouting; they continue to reap the benefit of our noises and punish us for being fools. They meet behind closed/open doors and wonder how foolish we are. They have started the game again and we are echoing at the top of our voices shouting the SAME English word "MARGINALISATION" As far as i am concerned , there are only two tribes in Nigeria. The rulers and the masses. I have vowed not to join tribalistic , myopic campaign in my life N.B When a man from my village was appointed into a Federal position years back, we thought finally we would have roads, water etc. To be honest with you there was rapid development but it was confined to his 4 plots of land in the village. So of what benefit is it to his people, his clan, his tribe, or Geo political region. |
My baby. I would not even bother myself, flaunting or exposing anything, who cares!! .,.,. There are millions of longer and bigger ones on the internet |
That bold of you. I love people that go for what they want. Put a picture on your profile, that would increase patronage |
nuzo:What you have done effectively is bringing in products that render Nigerian youths jobless. Tooth pick business use to keep food on the table of many Nigerians before people like you started importing from china. What Glo is doing is the other way round. They are empowering Nigerian professional both locally and lately internationally , projecting a product that is proudly Nigerian ( Not Chinese) |
@ somze I guess the issues of including the passangers is because most ' big ' men on Lagos roads are passagers in their cars. They are not just ordinary passangers, they are the ones controlling the innocent drivers. Laws are supposed to have a feel of the context in which it is being applied. How many people have drivers in UK? |
oyb:Bros , I hereby induct you to my fans club. With the way you are chasing me about nairaland, I think i need to help you out before you queue too long. N.B: I was lucky enough, not to have spent my pocket money on Shaving stick in the uni, despite the ASUU strikes. I know what it means to be on meal of 1-0-1. The problem with your arguments ( with all due respect, some are valid) is that you keep seeing things from your own personal views and experience. OYB: i will not reply to personal postings to you after this; don't let us kill this wonderful thread |
oyb:Thanks for going through my profile. It goes again to show how naive you are BIG MAN. I guess there is/was a law barring 22 years old Nigerian from working according to OYB version of the Nigerian constitution. Before i forget, Mr Genius you need to work on your mathematics. |
