mosyb: O boy if u wan know who get 3rd class, ask of tony Elumelu, UBA CEO, what of Gani Fawehinmi etc,no b d class of degree u get , na the sense wey u get, most companies to day no care about class of degree, na wetin u get to offer na im them want
Every body knows that the calibre of graduates today are half baked, most of them "sort" in order to get a good class of degree, that is why companies like shell, still have to retrain the so called graduates in order for them to work,
Even you field of study does not matter, what does one who studied botany or zoology have to do with working in a bank ? na connection them all get, so no mind your degree, SHINE YOUR EYE ! companies dey wey go employ you, no b d class of degree matter Almost all companies in europe train graduates before throwing them into the work place. It is not necessarily because nigerian graduates are "half baked" |

Politics › Re: British Airways Regrets Maltreatment Of Nigerians by deor03(m): 4:14pm On May 03, 2008 |
Jakumo: Statistically, more Nigerians are arrested for crime outside their home country than most other nationalities combined, with a significant number of those arrests arising from drug trafficking offenses detected at airports.
This reality implies that international travellers with Nigerian passports can reasonably expect to attract the sort of law enforcement attention that would be focused on an air traveller dressed immaculately in a prison uniform. Common sense SHOULD thus dictate that Nigerian's outside their homeland need to strive to be on their very best behavior if they don't wish to wind up delivering those indignant "I know my rights" speeches for the bored amusement of fellow inmates in jail.
The ubiquitous "Don't you know who I am ?" attitude that Nigerians are accustomed to adopting in confrontations with their area-boy contemporaries in the squalid back-streets of Lagos simply WILL NOT WORK in Heathrow or Gatwick Airport, and will more than likely get cut short by the slamming of that paddy-wagon door after an inevitable arrest.
Bottom line : Mind your own business, shut up and keep your head down when on board a plane or in an airport building anywhere outside of Nigeria, and maybe, just maybe, you won't get roped in with the usual suspects when the chit falls after some Lagos Big Man opens his big mouth to try and show British or American policemen who is boss. @ One day it might just be you, or your relative. It is in our culture to stand for one another. I don't know how long you have stayed abroad, therefore some of this values might have eroded but for some of us that culture is still there. I will stand (reasonably though) for a fellow Nigerian maltreated anywhere in the world. |

Zimbabwe does not have Oil, so the US and UK want African leaders to mediate.
Why didn't they leave ASIAN leaders to mediate in IRAQ.

@ poster, There are some contracts that are not enforceable, just like the bond you are talking about. Before you sign any agreement there must be "meeting of the minds". Incase you are forced to sign a contract because you could loose your JOB, then your company does not have any case, just like i said above. Have a look at this link http://consumer-law.lawyers.com/Contesting-Contracts.html |

I use to work for a coy in in lagos that we sign 2 year bond after training in europe. It got to a stage where boyz use delay tactics, that is , we collect the form, hold on to it wait for the visa process to continue and keep telling them that you are looking for a guarantor.
Besides , Nobody can take you to court for a bond of over 1 year in Nigeria. But i commend your courage though. |
