@OYB Big man, I had several years working experience up my sleeves in 2005 when you were still queueing for 2 hours in the sun to be interviewed, .,, You sound/write like an empty barrel, just trying to get attention. "VMOBILE,was 'forcing' you to take a position, huawei was begging you " is more like a childish talk. It shows your level of professional experience and exposure. @Topic Back to the topic, whether you like it or NOT . Globacom as a brand has been able to survive the murky water of the Nigerian business environment. The invaluable experience form this would make business in other regions a moother ride. I praise the courage and tenacity of this BRAND, it is definitely going to rule your world |
This is a personal feeling oh!!! I think Al-gore is not a lucky person politically. ![]() |
zomby:@OYB Just like Zomby wrote, it's a personal thing between you and GLO. I can imagine where you would have been if GLO found you worthy to employ in 2005. Sad enough you did not meet their standard That means your opinion is based on your former experience with them |
@ OYB Yes Glo has it problems, just like shell, mtn, celtel, chevron, etc . But it is a dream company for most Nigerians. Apart from that, it is a total Nigerian brand in the IT/Telecoms sector. Apart from Churches,Banks we have not been a able to stamp our feet as a Nation on the Technology scene. NITEL could not do this despite their "professional HR" department. Give it up to GLO for being bold enough to take this giant step. Nigerian professionals who have participated in the bBeninproject will tell you that, for once , outside the shores of this country you are well respected. I am sure Ghana won't be any different. |
kay_pumpin:Yes i do, That is why i do want my fellow poor Nigerians to be running after your car endangering their lives to sell gala to you in your air-conditioned car. That is also why i don't want your kids to request for caprisone and you will just beckon on their AGE MATE to sell it , so that you can give your thirsty kids in your car. |
bluehorizo:Yes sir, in the process of creating a Mega City that we will all be proud of, Me , you and so many other people will have to sacrifice. |
maxsiollun:Sorry, I meant to write that the main casualties that it the Head of state, the chief of defense staff, the Brigade commanders etc |
I actually don't like any for of jewelery. I make conscious effort to remind myself to wear it but some of the time i forget to wear the ring |
nuzo:@ nuzo, With all due respect for your professional background, but it's obvious that you know very little about the telecommunications industry. For all you care to know, equipment are thesame all over the world. I am telling you this from personal professional experience. At the risk of boring you with some technical details, fibre is the one of the best ways of carring traffic ( voice, data and video). Therefore it is an important part of transmission. Bros, in African countries, like cote'd'ivore , burkina faso, Congo democratic republic etc, you don't have to settle anybody for land. Nobody disturbs your project. Just to let you appreciate the problem in Nigeria, GLOBACOM won licence in Benin republic september 2007, 6 month after Mubadala won licence in Nigeria. Glo has rolled out commercially and Mubadala is yet to roll out commercially till today. |
This coup would have lead to another repeat of aftermath of the 1966 coups. The causalities in the coup would have been mostly Northern elements. The infantry and the armoury corps at that time were mainly northern guys. |
bluehorizo:This is looking at things from the short term perspective. What we fail to realise is that, at the risk of sounding blunt, is that Lagos is not for everybody just like London, Johannesburg, New york. The woman you are talking about is better off in Sagamu ( which is less than 30 minutes drive from Lagos). How does she survive on selling roasted corn, if she sells 30 piece @ 20 Naira per day in Lagos. Imagine her having 4 sons, how many of them will at your age have access to internet. With rent at about 50,000 per year ( 100,000 + 20% for 2 years), what future do you think she and her kids have. At best they will end up as houseboys for you, or barber for you , or conductor/ danfo drivers or worse still end up as Armed robbers robbing you. There a lot the government has NOT done but by discouraging this, will make some sensible ones make right choices. |
Mustapha is just looking for attention, ,, ,, or probably suffering for the long detention. It not easy it over 8 years now!! |
@nuzo Permit me to give you an insight into the problems of telecoms and service delivery from an insiders perspective. All over the world, Equipment are thesame, technology is thesame, personnel are also thesame. But what are the challenges in Nigeria. 1. Power supply. average operator in Nigeria has over 7,000 generators. These generator power the radio( air interface) part of GSM. This is the heart of the network. As if this is not enough, These generators are stolen DAILY from site!!!!! 2. Vandalism: It only in Nigeria that people break into fibre laid underground; because they think the content can be sold in open market. Once you break a fibre, you can imagine what happens on your transmission network 3. Right of way: Community/Omo onile are a pin in the ass. Ask anybody in the roll-out department of the big 3 in Nigeria Permit me to stop with this three reasons. YOU can never have a good network sir. Instead of improvement, all you will be busy doing is repair after repair, optimisation to take care of service disruption; |
This is good news!! At least we are taking steps toward having a sane community. Those that are used to the former way of life should just brace up for what is ahead instead of complaining. |
So far, over 100 Nigerians are working DIRECTLY on Globacom project in Benin republic. This project is small compared to the one in GHANA. This is expected to send more than 150 Nigerians as expatriates into GHANA. Can't we try and see thing from the Optimistic and positive view? This is a appalling attitude to life, that is, seeing only the bad side of things. |
somze:You seems to be the only person reading this post before replying or its simply the other way round |
What was the result of the match?? |
Have you seen where a driver driving on one-way caused accidents, killing innocent people? Have you seen where an overspeeding driver killed people, senselessly? Do you have access to the number of people killed by wrong and careless driving? How much is 250,000 compared to a human life? Laws are meant to be deterrant. Not taking that one-way because of avoiding 250,000 fine could save someone's life. Funny enough that person could be you. |
@ poster, Nice one, refreshing lost memory. But are there signs that we are learning as a country? |
, |
ok. will reply you later today |
so did i |
ama27, you could contact me thru my profile. Probably in similar shoes as urs. Did you attend the GCC event? |
It's game over |
I think CAMERAS ( even if is mobile camera fixed on cars) should be used as allibi. Otherwise this USELESS, GOOD for Nothing Policemen, will use this to victimice Lagosians |
Wait for her to give birth, and the four of us ( myself, my wife, my former house boy, our child) will forever live in peace ![]() |
SourSex:No, This one was special. I used close-up and Maclean before now |
I also did it this morning, i can stop thinking about it. Guess what!. I brushed my teeth with colgate .,.,.,.,lol |
With all due respect , I totally disagree with with the topic. Corruption started in Nigerian politics during the time of okotiebo ( first finance minister). At that time, an average Nigerian was not corrupt up till when Babangida took over as the head of state. This spanned a period of over 2 decades, an when people saw their "rulers" ( they are not leaders as far as i am concerned) milking the treasury and making social security totally non-existent, people had to take care of themselves. Corruption started from there since you have to provide all the basics for yourself. So Nigerians became corrupt as a result of their corrupt rulers N.B: Please let us be careful of not confusing the word "ruler" and "Leader" |
