Dede1, I honestly owe you a carton of Odeku. I have followed this thread for while. I must say your logical approach to the historical facts about Nigeria despite mud slings at you is commendable. |
@pyguru "Umu Igbo obi dim utoo nke ugwu nghi mgbali unu tinyere n’asusu Igbo Nke ka nke, Eze Promoe udo dirighi Igbo language is one of the most difficult subject to master because of the unyielding instances of Igbo dialects." Why would anybody with, at least, pin-size of brain ban Dede1 for the above post in Cultural Section? The silly acts of ban on this forum are becoming viral in nature. Attached is the notice from the moderator pyguru banned Dede1 for https://www.nairaland.com/1098993/igbo-learning-thread-translator/20#13804091. Ban expires at Today at 10:17:12 PM. |
Afam4eva Or OAM4J If you are involved in the censorship of Dede1 on this forum, I strongly suggest you desist from such act. Moderators should bear in mind that forum sites and WebPages such as Nairaland are being shutdown because of irresponsible censorship. Inspectors from NCAC are visiting this site. If you really want to stamp out tribalism in Nigeria, I suggest you start with doing away with Nigeria which is epitome of tribalism and strive to stop institutionalized policies such as state of origin, federal character, quota system and sectional zoning. It is silly naïve on the part of any moderator to censor any contributor because such person responded in kind to a disguised thread laden with tribal baits such as the forged and falsified letter allegedly written by Ojukwu to Banjo. I have not read reposted craps such the alleged nonsensical prose credited to Lt Col Francis Fajuyi begging the July 29, 1966 coup plotters to kill him along with Ironsi. Anybody with a pin-size of brain knows that even if Col Fajuyi had time to compose such crap, the coup plotters did not have such time to listen to such nonsense talk less of consideration. |
Gowon is true personification of the saying that “a fool at 40 is a fool forever”. |
I shall state unequivocally that any Nigerian who honestly thinks of Nigeria in the shade of the so-called One-Nigeria is patented jackass. Nigeria is a gambling house. |
It is funny Nigerians will engage one another in a lengthy debate of words about Nigeria without looking at the main issue. I have never seen people so disingenuous in behavior like Nigerians. The problem of Nigeria is the house called Nigeria. Nigerians must undertake a serious examination of the house called Nigeria and make sure the foundation is enough to ensure the structure can provide livable shelter. It is very common sight that the uneasy rests the person who lives in a shaky house. The people who continuously want Nigeria linger in its shaky state knew the benefit they derive from a dysfunctional household such as Nigeria. There is no amount of constitutional amendment, electoral reform or Harvard education that can buy the tonic of unity in a house such as Nigeria. We can continue to desperately hang onto a dilapidated structure as Nigeria but should bear in mind that such structure is bound to fall catastrophically. |
ilugunboy: I will decisively reply you all after the charade going on here....Who gives a ratazz about what Olodoboy says pertaining to any topic possibly? Fact remains it takes the son of Ashawoo to recognize a woman he branded as Ashawoo, period. |
Demdem: Is it a must that the Eze of NL must be a Ojukwu worshiper? That to me is sttupid if trueNo, Eze of NL must not be Ojukwu's worshoper. Howvever, I guess Mazi Okija_juju contravened the foremost cardinal rule in politics, thus, all politics are local. Ojukwu had been placed on my crosshair for a blunder commiited while handling certain aspect of civil war but never for standing against the aggressors who wanted easterners annihilated. The scathing diatribes leveled against Ojukwu when few offspring of the aforementioned aggressors wanted the image of Ikemba tarnished did not sit well with most Biafrans. Ndigbo are not praise singers as evidenced during certain senatorial election in Nigeria where Ojukwu was soundly defeated by an out-of-town physician. |
I have been reading with interest the seemingly act of omission or plain idiocy in the spelling of UMUOKIRI, ALUU RIVERS STATE. Is it a matter of illiteracy or patented act of denial which had permeated the physic of certain Igbo peeps? Or is the apparent misspelling of UMUOKIRI spurred by inherent machination by non-Igbo peeps to continue the propagation of disunity among Ndigbo? I know that people of UMUOKIRI, ALUU RIVERS STATE are faced with more unfortunate trepidation than to worry about moronic ninnies that misspelled the name of the ancestral home. Also, I sympathize with UMUOKIRI people who had no hand in the atrocity committed in Aluu and would have been happier if the name of a place they called home is associated with fun and good things than “ALuu 4”. I do not feel comfortable in demanding death penalty for the accused persons in Aluu 4. It is not because of the weight of their crime or lack thereof. But for the fact jungle justice is daily occurrence in Nigeria. Fortunately or should I say unfortunately, Aluu 4 were sons of well placed Nigerians and the atrocity was videotaped, thanks to technology. |
Neversaydie: Bauchi State Acting chairman of Northern Brotherhood Movement (NBM), Aminu Danmaliki lamented that after 36 years of spearheading the affairs of the country, the Northern Nigeria has little or nothing to show. The above show of shame is nothing but a well calculated and deceitful shenanigan akin to the trolling of July 29. 1966. Granted the Bauchi State Acting chairman of Northern Brotherhood Movement (NBM), Aminu Danmaliki allegedly lamented the 36 years misrule of Nigeria by the individuals from northern region of Nigeria, he did not find it fit to pronounce that individuals from southern region of Nigeria should be given chance to stay on power for 36 years. Rather he deceitfully played the trump card of 1966 by calling for a northerner who happens to be Christine like Gowon to assume the leadership of the northern regional political fronts. I am thrilled Danmaliki noticed there has never being a sense of unity in the northern region talk less of Nigeria. The truth remains Nigeria lacks any form of unity and the simplest solution is for nation states in Nigeria to sue for separation. Both USSR and Yugoslavia do not exist in the form we used to know them. The most irony of the story remains USSR was an undisputable major arms supplier to Nigeria during the war of secession. |
Please Messrs Seun, OAM4J and Jaru I urge you to use your good office to look into what had compromised DEDE1’s right to post on Nairaland. |
shymmex: The spam bot banned me before but I'm back now. Bayelsea state produces less than 10% of Nigeria's oil wealth. What was posted on the Bayelsea state website is pure fallacy. Most Nigerians are inherent mor0ns and denials of intensive tribalism. I suggest you go back to the map that depicts the activities of crude oil exploration in southern Nigeria, Mr. Detribalized. The map clearly shows the distance from last crude oil in Abia State to Uyo, not to mention the majority of acreage of state, which is capital of Akwa Ibom state, is vast land of no crude oil activity. The map also shows that Imo State and almost Abia State were completely overshadowed with the sketch of crude oil activities in southern Nigeria. Baring the erroneous inclusion of offshore crude oil production to certain states, Rivers, Delta, Imo and Abia are largest crude oil producing states in Nigeria. I guess the fear of Ndigbo is driving many Nigerians into the hall of irredeemable stupidity. |
phreakabit:This map is a practical joke. If the concerned people chose Biafra as one of the nation states to survive Nigeria, the boundary limit with any country north of Biafra shall start at River Benue. The south-eastern part of Kogi state, north and south-eastern part of Edo State and southern part of Taraba State shall be flash spots |
Onlytruth:Bros, the thought about lack of coordinated efforts and absent of sustained think-tank apparatus among Ndigbo in case of sudden disintegration of Nigeria buys me long nights without a nap. MASSOB is a borderline useless organization which can not defend its members talk less formulating a stratagem. It is even worse when you go beyond the layer of MASSOB and sample the state of mind of many Igbo people. You could be shock to notice people who have totally forgotten where they started and seemed marooned to guess their destination. The worst group of Ndigbo are the so-called leaders, ex-this, ex-that, stakeholder, idiotic chiefs and high chiefs, traditional rulers, academicians, politicians, civil servants and business people. You have to search very deep in Igbo society to uncover any retired commissioned military officer in Igbo land. Believe me, well coordinated efforts among Igbo people will uncover avenues that will be tremendous assistance to the curse of Igbo land. If south was north, Nigeria would have been history only taught in primary schools just for sake of history. |
If my relentless effort in calling for disintegration of cesspit called Nigeria makes me an ethnical bigot, I had worn it as badge of honor. I shall unconditionally support any group out of Nigeria that calls for breakup Nigeria into, at least, five nation states. |
Aigbofa:Let moronic moderators notice who started the insult game on this thread because I can make good living out of raining unconditional and uncontrollable insults on dullards. Since a regrettable dunce such as you had problems understanding or remembering some of the principal actors who were involved with January 15, and July 29, 1966 coups, in fact, few had written books while others had given elaborate interviews, I urge a drooling nitwit such as you to search out for the following names: Ben Gbulie, Ademoyega, William Wulbe, Andrew Nwanakwo, Hilary Njoku, Theo Damjuma, Sani Bello and Umar. If you are a sole representative of Yoruba’s intellectual class, I guess the information I have about Yoruba is quite impressive. |
alj harem:I did not need to respond to this nonsensical drivel but since you have chosen to flaunt your ignorance in public, let me oblige on the erroneous part of “Zik had 12 ministers and only 1 was Yoruba”. Again, there was no government of federal republic of Nigeria constituted with Zik as the head of the government. After 1959 federal election, NCNC won the both western and eastern regions while NPC won northern region. Due the showing of political strength of the parties during federal election, the victorious parties had to provide persons for ministerial appointment according to electoral victories. As result of NCNC victory both in western and eastern region, it got to provide 6 ministers with portfolio to federal executive council under the government of Tafawa Balewa. The 6 ministerial appointments were shared evenly between western and eastern regional NCNC members in the parliament. From western region were Adelabu Adegoke, Kola Balogun and Okotie Ebo. The minister in charge of FCT or Lagos was then Alhaji Musa Usaman Yar adua, the father of late president of Nigeria. As for the VC, there were four universities in Nigeria and it happened that two universities in western region were under the VCs who happened to Igbo and I believed it was not by design since the universities in the north and east were headed by expatriates, American and Saudi. Government in references was also Balewa’s but Zik’s. |
Aigbofa:I honestly suggest you read books written or interviews given by men who were involved in both January 15, 1966 and July 29, 1966 coups. The coup plotters of July 29, 1966 were human beings who knew where to direct their foods. They were not stark and irredeemable dunces. It would have been a military blunder of unimaginable proposition and martial hara-kiri if the coup plotters had decided to come to Enugu for such operation. I bet you the much fancied Ivory Coast in your dull memory should not have been in the equation. |
publisher:Bros, take a chill pill. I can not recall writing about the northern region winning any war Northern region of Nigeria did not win a war. Nigeria, baring Biafra, with military and diplomatic supports from Britain, USSR, Egypt, Australia, Arab League of Nations, Niger, Chad and Cameroon won the Nigeria/Baifra civil war. If you agree that some regions or region happened to manipulate others to retain power, why are you bending out of human form that elites from northern region have ability forge a united front in the north? In my post, I deduced that Ndigbo must think-tank about the welfare of Republic of Igbo land in case Nigeria disintegrates. Any country which has emerged out of any break off of a country must have such clandestine group or run over by other competing entities. |
alj harem:One of the problems I have with Yoruba is their attempt to eat their cake and have it. Yoruba claimed they saw Europeans half a century before Ndigbo had a handshake with the visitors. Yet one of the sons of Yoruba has the audacity to spew Igbo took advantage of uneducated Yoruba when, in fact, Yoruba had UPE. How did Igbo or Zik take adavantage of Yoruba land and its products when Lagos, Ibadan, Tv, Stadium, Ogbomosho, Ota etc were developed by cocoa fund under the watchful eyes of one of the Nigerians tribal icon in name of Obafami Awolowo? I remembered vividly the government that imprisoned Awolowo and later created Mid-western region out of old western region was Tafawa Balewa’s government. According to Commodore Wey, who was a Yoruba, Major Gen Everatt and IGP Edet, who was Efik, informed Zik that he, Zik, did not have constitutional powers to deploy a team of riot police. I deduce it is a fallacy born out of idiocy to accuse Zik of Awolowo’s imprisonment and division of western region. I can not join you into the slippery path of idiocy and propagation of absolute falsehood with respect to comment about Lt Col Francis Fajuiyi’s agreeing to die with Ironsi. It is only in the fo.ol’s world that coup plotters had ears to listen and then give options to a target. |
@POST Any southerner who takes this interview lightly as a mere exhibition of imagination is down for a serious rude awaking. Northerners are different breed and they do not believe in running their mouths. Elites both in the armed forces, police, business, polity and even those on the corridor of power in Abuja have well coordinated plans and rehearsals in case Nigeria sees a sudden disintegration. If you think this Abuja gathering is for mere a lip service, I urge you to study the progress of Boko Haram. The focused and well-coordinated engagement found among the northerners can not be seen among the southerners who have drawn indelible line of division among themselves through tribalism and the Nigeria/Biafra civil war coupled with loudmouthed indulgence while feeling good in a midst of idiocy – crude oil. I am seriously disturbed there may be no iota of think-tanking among Ndigbo in any eventualities such as disintegration of Nigeria and certainties of territorial stakes as alluded in the interview with special reference to Illorin and Offa. If Ndigbo can not be able to mount serious and attritional defensive and offensive foray, Igbo land could be subjugated. |
@DerideGull Yes I know biafra was an eastern region, what bothers me is that they don't mention other minorities, they talk about preserving Igbo culture but I haven't heard anything about the other little tribes, Do you know any MASSOB non- igbo leader?? THIS is what I'm talking about, I want them to commit 100% to the minorities and give them a voice or not to commit at all. So that when the new state is formed, People wouldn't have this argument about one tribe controlling everything.
Are Igbo also the keeper of other minorities in Biafra? Are you a true Nigerian? Since after the civil war, majority of minority ethnic groups in Biafra developed the tendency to deny Biafra and some Ikwerre decided to disassociate themselves from Igbo. Igbo shall not commit themselves for curse and also commit the minorities. The minority had to join the majority to give themselves a voice. You must know that political patronage is always determined by political support. Ndigbo are not funny people and will match on with or without non-believers. |
Also for everyone, I never said the anioma people weren't Ibo or delta (although wikipedia seems to think otherwise) but rather the land they occupy has always been for Delta state and so if they want to join Biafra, they will have to leave the land. if the republic of Biafra is formed do you think other main tribes e.g. yoruba people living there will be comfortable?? They will have to move as well. an example of this kind of situation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_citizens_of_Israel#Self-identification
Western region, Mid-western region, Bendel State and Delta States did and do not own any pieces of land belonging the ethic groups which found themselves under the governmental authorities of mentioned regions or sates. The essence of dividing Nigeria into regions, states, provinces and local government areas has absolutely nothing to doe with the ownership of the land or authoritative mainstay of ethnic groups. If Biafra shows up tomorrow and the Igbo people, thus, Anioma wished to join their kinsmen across the River Niger, they do not have to move from their present land of abode. The only thing that will change is the boundary line the between Biafra and the country other Delta State indigenes will wish to join. Be very careful with things you read from wikipedia. |
@Ngodigha1 Either you haven't been reading my posts carefully or you are just biased. True I made a mistake mentioning Edo and I'm sorry for that. But I've read the manifesto and I even posted some links so that everyone could read it as well. Go back to this website :http://www./ and read it. Not once did they mention other tribes, the only tribe mentioned there is Igbo. I hoped for an intelligent conversion but since that is not possible I'll just leave the thread.
I know it will not take three posts before you realized the depth of your stupidity on this thread and head for exit lane. Please be advised that Biafra was eastern region and not mainly Igbo land. However, Anioma was in mid-western region and such instance did not make Anioma non-Igbo. I hope you need to apologize generally to Igbo people and particularly to Anioma peeps for such derogatory statement that land which housed Anioma belongs to Edo, Ishan, Itsekiri, Ijo and Urhobo of Delta State. What an arrant nonsense. There are many instances where people of the same ethnicity are found in two neighboring countries. For example, Burundi and Rwanda or Germany with it neighbors. If Biafra had been allowed to exist peacefully or survived the onslaught of Nigeria and its allies, there could have been an instance of Igbo in Biafra and Nigeria. Unfortunately, it was not meant to happen. This time around, every Igbo person in Delta, Edo, Kogi,Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Taraba and Cross River States must be a citizen of the Republic of Igbo land or any alternative. |
@PROUD-IGBO Think before you type, the Anioma people are of mixed race between deltans and igbo people, but the land it self belongs to the deltans. If they Biafra Republic is finally free and they decide to join, they have to leave and make way for other citizens who will be kicked out of Igbo land. Also from wikipedia: "Ethnic identity crisis In recent times, the Anioma people have become piqued with the Igbo of the southeast on whether the Anioma are of Igbo ethnic group or not. The diverse history of origin of the people have made it quite difficult to classify the people and continues to set the people against the Igbo of the southeast so that while the Igbo are of historical views that the people are part of the large Igbo community, the Anioma have discredited this argument maintaining that only a fragment of its people such as Igbuzo (Ibusa), part of Ogwashi-Uku, Ejeme Kingdom, the Isseles, and Oko are of Igbo ancestry. An argument that the Igbo continually debunk, though the anioma people speak a language that is very close to igbo, most of the communities can still trace their origin to the ancient benin kingdom." Once again read my post before you reply, I'm also for the Republic of Biafra, but I don't want it through dishonest means. Let them do what their manifesto says.
Please without any hurt feelings, I would like it if you could state your ethnicity. I hate the idea when moronic dingbats hide behind zones or region and throw wild and ethnical comments. |
@Manny_01 I have one advice for you, thus, go read your atlas and inquire oral history of your native domain. The manners in which you have written seemed to suggest you are lost on intellectual scheme of the issue in discuss. |
alj harem:It is very ironical issues such as this non-starter have to be deliberated on this forum. I guess some folks are criminally slow. The geographical entity later known as Nigeria was trading colony of Royal Niger Company. Great Britain turned it into provinces of south and north. Later the provinces became Protectorates of British Empire. There were northern region of Nigeria, western region of Nigeria and eastern region of Nigeria. Later, about 1963, there was additional region known as Midwestern region of Nigeria. I guess a lamb dung such as you meant politics was localizied. Only a fatuous knucklehead such as you would assume time existed when Nigeria was three different countries. What a ninny for human. |
There are real nincompoops on this forum that should be forgiven for having silly thoughts that Igbo and other egalitarian groups in Biafra are mirror images of dumb-ass groups that populated Nigeria. It is foolhardy to insinuate Ojukwu would have ruled . It is very good to know that many loudmouths are still oblivious to socio-political content of Ndigbo. The same Ojukwu lost Nnewi senatorial election to an obscure medical practitioner who resided at Owerri. |
Chukwuemeka Ojukwu Jr is not the first son of his father. He can not even inherit his father’s house in Umudim Nnewi talk less of be crowned Ikemba II of Nnewi. |
alj harem: can you shut it,You have refused to make people believe you have few gray matters above your idiotic shoulders. It is either you are ignorant of the meaning of the word – nation or you are redundant dunce. When such asinine statements were uttered by the imbecilic scoundrels, Nigeria was a country and governmentally organized into three regions. Sometimes I wonder if few Nigerians have cell brains at all. In fact, I get twisted out of human form when people born with the blood of a tribal icon accuse others of tribal bias. Again you have shown your foolishness by the insane undertaken to defend an ethnical begot such as SL Akintola. Why did he not question the positions of two VC in other regions? I guess SL Akintola moronically forgot the schools did not belong to western region of Nigeria but Nigeria where qualification and merit determine who sits on the position of VC. I am really amazed at the depth of idiocy to which some Nigerians had fallen. There was never a time Nigerian cabinet ministers was Zik’s. It was Tafawa Balewa’s cabinet and the appointments were determined by the strength of each political party after federal election. |
