Politics › Re: President Jonathan Live In Enugu by DerideGull(m): 1:04pm On May 18, 2013
ZUBY77: Check out good things about Enugu state. There was no nedia hype about this visit. No signs anywhere in Enugu. No hastening of contracts, no stopping of market traders from doing their busines.. NO NOISE.
He will come, commission his things, wine and dine etc and return home..

I remember when he visited Anambra last august. The advert and publicity started in august of the previous year. Markets were closed. Two million police and army in the streets. everything stood still just to commission a beer factory...

The environment of enugu metropolis is so serene that there will be no need to change anything..
We love Enugu, we love Gej and we love Nigeria with three NE states.
Have you ever heard that one man’s meat is another person’s poison? It is good Enugu State chose to approach president’s state visit to the state differently from that of Amambra State.
Politics › Re: Yoruba Unity Forum To Host Southern Nigerian Peoples Confab by DerideGull(m): 12:53pm On May 18, 2013
I guess Alex Ekwueme and any Igbo peep that would contemplate to attend the so-called Southern Nigeria People Assembly hosted by Yoruba Unity Forum are uselessly drunk. It is a taboo to hear that Igbo person is thinking of any form of congregation of southern Nigerians with the likes of Yoruba, Awolowo and Edwin Clark. God forbids the bad thing.
Politics › Re: Eliminating Bigotry From The Politics Section. by DerideGull(m): 12:17pm On May 18, 2013
Malawian: once again, i say there is no point in banning anyone. you dont even know who is behind the moniker. if 1 were to open a new moniker and claim to be DK or Queen bigot "ojare", will you then ban the same innocent monikers? can you tell me what i look like?
I have once written nairaland is a replica of the cesspit called Nigeria. Everything done in Nigeria has no logical reasons. It is all about ban, ban and ban. Most policies out of Nigeria are as a result of vendetta or personal vexation. Believe it or not, Nigeria is home of tribalism and there is nothing anybody could do about it until inhabitants of the geographical expression embrace disintegration.
Politics › Re: Achebe: Community, Church, Family Fight Over Body by DerideGull(m): 12:03pm On May 18, 2013
Abagworo: Guess he was an Nze n'Ozo then. Don't you think this rich culture should be retained whether we are Christians or not?
It is unfortunate certain goons tend to abuse the anonymity provided by the Internet.
Politics › Re: Achebe: Community, Church, Family Fight Over Body by DerideGull(m): 12:02pm On May 18, 2013
berem: Of course it should be retained. My grandfather was an Nze n'Ozo and a Pagan during his lifetime. When he was about to die, he repented and became a Christian at the dying minute. He was given holy communion few hours to his death. So you see, our culture should be retained but Christianity comes first.
With this heavy load of brainwash, one wonders how you could develop.
Nairaland General › Re: Sexkillz Inherits Ikenna351's Anti-Tribalism War by DerideGull(m): 1:59pm On May 17, 2013
sexkillz: I'm a Nigerian born to igbo speaking parents and completely raised in a yoruba speaking land. If I meet foreigners, I tell them I am Nigerian cos they do not understand what igbo or yoruba means.

Remove the language barrier, the culture barrier and the food barrier and what you have left is a fellow human with flesh and blood, prone to the same diseases and afflictions, Prone to pain and suffering and heartbreak and everything common to man.

Until we start seeing one another as Nigerians, every effort made is in absolute futility.

The ministry of the politics section must keep moving to the permanent site. . .

You could agree with me that nairaland political section does not need any form of illogicality. For example, if you remove the language barrier, the culture barrier and food barrier what you have left is a dunce with flesh and blood prone to affliction of kinds of diseases.
Nairaland General › Re: Sexkillz Inherits Ikenna351's Anti-Tribalism War by DerideGull(m): 1:33pm On May 17, 2013
Nairaland has really gone to the dogs. No wonder people with gray matters are bailing out on the forum.
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by DerideGull(m): 12:22pm On May 17, 2013
PointB: Hold brief for Ikenna? No brother, you mistake my intent.

Ikenna failed to listen to reasons, articulated by those who have seen the hair in his father's anus (metaphorical speaking); he dug his own grave when he clamped down on his kinsmen with ferociousness to make a point. Now the folly of his actions is glaring as he unable to exercise same ferocity on the other tribe, yet he is accused of favoring his folk. A sad irony, if you ask me.

That said, I would not like to see him treated shabbily by Mukina2 of all people, who herself is the Queen of Tribalism in Nairaland, responsible for many anti-Igbo thread in Nairaland frontpage!
I sensed you are rushing into war you never envisaged. Ironsi stood by as his kinsmen were ruthlessly murdered in northern region without batting an eye. Yet Ironis was furiously accused of favoring his kinsmen and was shamefully killed for his stupidity. Nairaland is a complete replica of Nigeria except the ownership. In fact, I am not going to vouch for ownership of nairaland since I do not have details.
Politics › Re: Speaker Of Rivers Assembly Stripped Of Security Personnel by DerideGull(m): 12:12pm On May 17, 2013
I am completely flabbergasted that a moronic speaker of state assembly is whining because Police escort is withdrawn from him. What security protection has the idiotic speaker ever proffered for the citizens of Rivers State? Does this fool think his safety is more important than the safety of millions of people in River State?

The citizens of Rivers State live under the treats of hoodlums every minute of day in Rivers State without ordinary paddle to protect themselves and this idio.t from hell is whining about withdrawal of Police details.

In fact, Nigeria needs to be destroyed so that surviving people could chart their different ways of associations.
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by DerideGull(m): 11:54am On May 17, 2013
PointB: I understand you.

I have commented on his method and pointed out the need for him to co-operate with established norms and unwritten codes; well, judging from the plethora of complaints, it is fair enough to say, Ikenna hasn't changed, at least not much. But I cannot say categorically if his method is working or not. But if he doesn't get the support of Seun/super MODs, I think the reasonable thing for him to do is to resign. Tribalism is easy to fight, especially in a country where ethnic affiliation is stronger than national one. Nigeria is intrinsically a tribalistic country, Ikenna chose a tough course to pursue -ending tribalism, and then he chose to do so in yet tougher way. Tough!

As for Mukina2, well, I stand by my earlier comments!
Bros, I can not believe you are attempting to hold brief for the moniker called Ikenna351 on nairaland. It is true that water flows to the channel it is once selected. I never thought to see any Nigerian afflicted with Ironsi syndrome. This is the reason I laugh my tooth off when confused southerners cry about northerners dominating everything in Nigeria. The northerners learnt a great lesson from the foolery of the drunk called Ironsi. If you play fool rest assured you will treated like a fool. History is not made a subject for nothing.

Nigerians and tactless display of stupidity are regrettable. What has USA or its embassy got to do with corruption in Nigeria? Please, these moronic nitwits must learn how to confront their problems without disturbing the cherished quietness of other people. What a bunch of fools.

Politics › Re: 2015:Nigerdelta Oil Belong To The North, We Will fight for it -- Farouk Aliyu by DerideGull(m): 1:12am On May 16, 2013
Nashville: I thought we practised Federalism. Nigeria can only exist as a country if we practiced Federalism. Nigeria's foundation was on the premise of federalism and that is what can restore peace. That was the agreement between the founding fathers.

I believe states and regions should control 60% of their resources and send only 40% to the Federal government. It will force each region to become hard working and not depend on Oil money. You can imagine this man who has done nothing to develop his own state laying claim to Niger Delta Oil. Just sad.
It is unfortunate Nigerians tend to debate issues based on ridiculous assumptions. Nigeria is practicing unitary government. So it is baseless talking about federalism when issue about Nigerian government shows up for discussion.

In addition, Niger Delta is an inconsequential geographical expression and does not hold any water in intellectual debate. Crude oil struck in Nigeria belongs to the government at the center period. There is no amount of idiotic noise that will change the picture very soon.

The crude oil in Nigeria is commonwealth.

Politics › Re: Murtala Muhammed - Things You Never Knew by DerideGull(m): 1:51am On May 15, 2013
babyosisi: An interview by the late Chief Enahoro in 1998 as he addressed a group of Igbos who questioned him on the war

One of the most contradictory facts to demonstrate the inaccuracy of Gowon’s assertion comes from Gowon’s own wartime Federal Information Commissioner and foremost Nigerian war propagandist during the civil war, Chief Anthony Enahoro. In the first few months of 1998, one Jumoke Ogunkeyede, head of the "United Committee to Save Nigeria" organized a kind of reconciliation meeting between Chief Anthony Enahoro and some Igbos in New Jersey, USA. In that meeting, and in answer to one of the questions posed to Chief Enahoro about his anti-Biafran role during the civil war, Chief Enahoro, who thankfully, is alive and well today, said in part:

"Do you really know anything about what happened during that war? I was the one that stopped late Gen. Murtala Mohammed from further massacre of innocent children and mothers. At a point when Britain refused to sell further arms to Nigeria because they had ample evidence from the Red Cross of the federal forces killing innocent civilians, I confronted Gowon with the fact and that the only way I can get Britain through my contact with their High Commissioner to resume a supply of weapon to Nigeria was that Murtala had to leave that war sector. Either Murtala leaves or I will have to leave his cabinet. Gowon told me that he is willing to call a meeting and on the condition I will be the one to confront Murtala. If there was anybody that Gowon feared so much it was Murtala Mohammed. At the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, I confronted Mohammed with elaborate evidence complete with photographs. He was livid. He could not refute them so he resorted to calling me all sorts of names prompting me to observe before the council that if he was a fine officer as he claims to be, he should not be acting the way he was acting. Needless to say that I was instrumental to his withdrawal from that sector and subsequent appointment as a minister". (See "The Nigerian and Africa" magazine, March 1998, page 10)

From this uncoerced and uninduced testimony of Chief Enahoro, who incidentally is still alive today, one can make the following observations:

That Murtala’s genocidal campaign against the Midwestern Igbos was well known and documented by the Red Cross
That the genocide imperiled Nigerian’s ability to secure arms supply from Britain.
That in attempt to maintain British arms supply to Nigeria, Chief Enahoro confronted Gowon with this reality widely documented by the Red Cross.
That Gowon was reluctant to confront Murtala with the allegation and indeed would not confront Murtala with it unless Enahoro would do it by himself, which he did, and
That it took a threat from Enahoro to Gowon "to leave his cabinet", for Gowon to eventually address the issue and remove Murtala and commander of the 2nd infantry Division.
I must say that Enahoro’s sincerity in his testimony is commendable. Enahoro admitted that his quest to stop Murtala’s murderous campaign among the Midwestern Igbos was to save the British arms supply to Nigeria and not out of sympathy or concern for the lives of those Igbos for whatever they were worth (at least not on the record). I think that Gowon should emulate this Enahoro’s sincerity and not come 34 years later to claim that he didn’t know something he abundantly knew.
I urge every Igbo person not to take above sawdust allegedly spewed by Anthony Enahoro seriously. Anthony Enahoro was one of the irredeemable co.cksuckers that bit the fingers that fed them.
Politics › Re: Murtala Muhammed - Things You Never Knew by DerideGull(m): 8:12pm On May 14, 2013
Murtala Muhammed was not a good soldier or leader. He would probably not attained the rank of Brigadier if Gowon did not play to the gallery in order to win the war. Also, I wonder if he would have made the rank Major sooner than he did without his uncle as a defense minister.

Nigerians are always homely with their foolery. The appropriate phrase should be “President Jonathan to address the country tonight”. Nigeria is not a nation and it will be nice if Nigerians should quit idiotic imitation.

Nairaland management is a miniature replica of Nigeria and its government. It is a laughable to watch. Why do you think Nigerians perceive erections of concrete structures as development?
Politics › Re: South-East Governors Meet Over 2015 by DerideGull(m):
If voting for GEJ in 2015 means the end of jungle called Nigeria, I will even encourage double voting to see it come through. It is a display of crass idiocy for fickle-minded dunces to expect GEJ to work miracle during his first term in office in a jungle such as Nigeria left in a state of furlough for 45 years.

mikeansy: when will the Governors meet to discuss how to pull resources together and create an economic hub in the East?

We can make progress regardless of what is happening in aso rock

all we seem to have are meetings about the next election, nothing about development!
Do you expect the governors to publicly announce a meeting of substance such as strategy for economic development? Bros, you know better than the above post.

The only issues publicly announced are irrelevant stuffs to occupy the press media and the fickle minds. However the gathering indicated what every person had known by now.
