osystein: Hey dumbo.. Did u read the comment I was replying to? The guy claimed that South Africa didn't receive any support from the west which is totally not true, do you think if Nigeria had that level of support it wouldn't be more developed now?
Nigeria can receive help from God and still will not develop. South Africa developed to the extent it did due to a dominant culture which was European. If South Africa was left in an environment where cultures conflict and compete idiotically like in Nigeria, it would have been less desirable than Nigeria.
There was a documentary program in USA where Americans of all works of life discussed the “Superpower status of USA”, they all agreed that citizens of USA made it possible for such ideal status.

kaura5000: no mans land? what of the indigineos people that where part of niger state.. if nigeria divides the northwest, northeast, niger state, 50 percent of nassarawa state, 15 percent of plateau, parts of kogi, kwara will constitute arewa republic with our capital in abuja.. one north one destiny!
I guess northwest geoppolitical zone will constitute Arewa but I do not think entire northeast geopolitical zone will be part of Arewa. However, Islamic Republic of Arewa must look for another capital city because Abuja has already been taken.

Islamic Republic of Arewa can not have entire Niger State as you postulated in the above post.

You can say this again and again. I had my bet on Yoruba people for loud mouth. I am even surprise the Yoruba peeps have not claimed the European fraud named Nelson Mandela hailed from Ile Ife.

I think you are a confused fellow. In one stance, you are convinced there are Hausa and Fulani ethnicities in Nigeria and in another you seemed to believe there is "hausafulani" ethnicity. Please try to understand in order to be understood.

kel4soft: I also believe Late. Yaradua did not victimised or harass him. He stayed neutral and allow rule of law to take place. You can't deny dissolving Obio/Akpor council has long over due that's if you look at it on principles. How come, all state projects carry out in Port Harcourt are in Obio/Akpor most internal roads that was supposed to be constructed by this chairman has been ignored. The Governor actually does everything in Obio/Akpor while Nsirim and Wike shares the monthly receipt at the detriment of infra structural development. With the money Obio-Akpor council has (been the riches LGA after Apapa), they should be competing with the state on project but the revised is the case.
On the legality of dis solving the council, he has a right by the state laws as a Governor to dissolve a council as clueless as Nsirim and his cronies.

I wish to also say here that the Governor might be arrogant and controversial most times, but his revelation has helped one way or the other in the state.
Which state law trumps the federal law and empowered the governor to dissolve the council of elected members?
Politics › Re: Awolowo Was Greater Than Mandela by DerideGull(m): 12:29pm On Jan 02, 2014
@OP

This is the joke of the year. Anybody associated with Awolowo seems to be very delusional, shameless and loudmouthed. How could any reasonable fellow term Odia Ofeimun as a writer and poet? When certain punks want to show their crass social irresponsibility and political idiosyncrasy, they try to indulge in a silly comparative analysis of African personalities with diametrically opposed endeavors.

I have never considered Awolowo as a national leader. At best, Awolowo was a regional and sectional leader. It is even debatable because SL Akintola has much to say about such supposition.

As for Nkrumah, most Nigerians are known for their inferior complexity. There are certain Nigerians who would easily deny their birth right in order to denigrate the personality of person from a particular ethnicity in Nigeria. Nkrumeh was shipping desk clerk when Azikwe came back to Gold Coast. The same Azikwe vouched for Nkrumeh before Dr. Danquah to be given a position in Gold Coast. Suddenly, Nkrumeh became a greater messiah to Nigerians than Ghanaians.
Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by DerideGull(m): 11:23pm On Jan 01, 2014
Abagworo: You seem to mistake my defence of truth as a support for Rochas. People claim there are no industries in Imo State and as a true Imo son, I came to defence of my State by providing just one evidence of a large multinational industry in my State which has been there for long. I'm never a supporter of Government building industries and I don't expect Rochas to do that. I only believe that me and other wealthy Imolites outside our State are being lured back to invest because of what we are witnessing each time we visit. There is obvious improvement in the State and it took such a short period of time.

Now compare these two pictures and understand why its not good to term an unfinished road as substandard. I hope you can notice the difference between when there were errors in alignment and the obvious corrections before finishing.
I cannot stop laughing when you put up the pictures of Wetheral Road as one of the achievements of Mallam Rochas Okorocha. I use to make 55mph from Okigwe/Wetheral circle to Wetheral/School Road in the 80s. The same thing goes to Owerri/Aba highway and Bank Road. I guess you remembered when the driver’s licensing office and driver trainees grounds were situated adjacent former Central Bank office, hence the bank road.

You can credit Mallam Rochas Okorocha with building Mosques, silly gates and idiotic structures such as the one in above post.

When the brand "33" came into business in Igbo land, Mallam Rochas Okorocha was hustling to make ends meet on the streets of Jos, Plateau State. It is real helrious you are willing to credit the Mallam with everything in Igbo land.

Uyi Iredia: More ignorance. Tony One Week is a member of the Anambra state House of rep. He reps the Obosi community (who couldn't vote in Anambra's recent sham election) which I used as an example of how your people shoot themselves in the foot.
Who gives a ratazz about the disenfranchisement of one knucklehead named Tony One Week? I guess Nigerians seem to enjoy hilarious err of personalities.

Why are we such cry babies, always whining, forever complaining instead of working hard and making the necessary sacrifices huh
Bros this is the reason I have stopped to engage certain Nigerians in live debate. They shout upon their lungs and do not realize their logic is against the premise of their plank. Just like the confused dude that seems to blame South Korea for embracing the USA and its allies policies while attempting to absolve Nigeria’s stupidity in embracing NAM as cornerstone of its foreign policy.

Uyi Iredia: Your head will fly off that rotten corpse you call a body before I shut up. An allegation was brought with a supporting document which was enough to cause an outcry. Two BMW series 7 bulletproof cars at highly inflated prices almost in excess of 200%. Look the zombie ask what she contravened ? Whether it was Yoruba (note Okupe has been roundly criticized), Hausa or Igbo is hardly of note, it's whether she was culpable, and she was, no investigation, nothing and the matter was closed. You and your fellow anuofias think you are protecting your own. You lie. It is your children's future you throw to the birds; because it is precisely nonsense like yours is why Abacha is said to be good, why an Akala walks scot free, or a Bode George hailed when frees, or a charade called 'free and fair' was done in Anambra to the detriment of YOUR own people (case in point being Tony One-Week whose entire county couldn't vote).
It is beyond reasonable doubt, like all ill-educated Nigerians, that a dumbass fool such as you does not understand the nuances of corruptible practices. If the government had a control price on the BMW car and a seller sold the car to buyer on inflated price, the burden of explanation is on the seller, olodo.

Most Nigerians are irredeemable basement fools. I guess they have uncontrollable fun in stupidity. Please I suggest you read up on corruption and stop making a moronic dingbat out of your silly self, ode. There is no doubt that hiccup could sound as a corruption to you. You are one of reasons I stop frowning at the nefarious activities of certain members of Nigerian Police Force, agbaya.

What has “Tony One Week” got to do with this discourse? Do you really know what you are talking about or you have just redeemed yourself as an imbecilic numskull?

cramjones: As I write this. OBJ is in a close door meeting with Sokoto state governor, while FFK and other APC members are meeting with Gov Kwankwanso in Kano, which is now an APC strong hold. The road to 2015 will be an interesting one, we are not loosing sleep. Jonathan will be very very surprised at what is up for him. OBJ has shared some of the evidence with me on Jonathan's alleged plot to snipe out opposition. Now that it has been revealed, Jonathan will surely back track.

JONATHAN WILL SURELY BE SWEPT AWAY BY A WHIRL WIND COME 2015 If Nigeria continues on the path Jonathan and his handlers are taking us, we are bound to self destruct. I am sure none you of you want that. Let's vote them out....We need a progressive Nigeria not a battered corrupt-ridden, crime-ridden, kidnap-ridden, terrorist-ridden, poor-ridden Nigeria!!! God bless Nigeria!
The above tabulated scenario reminds me the deceitful undertakings by Awolowo, Akintola and Rosiji in yesteryears.

ckkris: In the last promotion exams for Police Sergeants to Inspectors, pass mark for Northern candidates was 23%. For Southern candidates, it was over 50%.
What do you expect from a society where an Igbo lady with better qualification (Law Degree) and superior in rank (DIG) was forced to retire in order to make way for the current IGP, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar, a Fulani with two year diploma certificate as well as incompetent and nepotistic gull from northern region of Nigeria?

Now I suggest you desist from claiming NAM and unfounded threats of WWIII as a stumbling block on Nigeria’s path to progress. If you do not have it, you will never have it period. Nigeria, as currently configured, does not have it and will never have it.

Uyi Iredia: Could you please shut up ?! Igbos supported Oduah in a noxious show of tribal support and u bring that $hit again. Must they cry all over the place because of tribalism: or is it that you are bptheredh because Igbos aren't represented. So are other minority tribes Mr, so they are.
You should summarily shut up your putrid mouth. What form(s) of corruption did Stella Oduah contravene? The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar could not only be relieved of his position as IGP for brazen incompetency, also on the alleged embezzlement, cronyism and nepotism as the post clearly indicated.

jason123: I have stopped bothering myself with igbos ( although mostly on nairaland) they can be very disgusting. You know, as long as it doesn't affect a fellow igbo its none of my business. 2years ago, the nation embacked on a revolution, just for the ibos to tribalise the whole affair. Awolowo is very silly for allowing these people to remain in Nigeria. They are the most self righteous people ever. Take a look at Nigeria and her history. Up till now they defend stella odua the thief!

Nigeria is messed up!
Orlando Olodo,

I remembered the tribally biased craps you vomited during a mere and unproven allegation against one Mrs. Uzoma that she has flooded Immigration services with Ndigbo. The regions that know for their tribal idiosyncrasy in Nigeria jumped onto the allegation like flies on a poo. Unfortunately, Mrs Uzoma was retired because she is Igbo and the unfounded allegations loudly came from Hausa, Fulani and Yoruba along with idiotic minorities in southern Nigeria.

abubaka101: See this guy oo!
You mean to tell me that our local politics was what made us join the NAM! If I hear!!
They say "when two elephants fight, the grass suffers." In order for us to avoid being the grass, we chose to simply avoid the fate of the grass, by being on the safer side!
So you believe local politics like, NPC faults Census results, AG decries not having majority in the House, NCNC fear that they would be the minorities, Awolowo and Akintola are in conflict, etc, could cause Nigeria to simply join the NAM?! Guy you funny ooo!!
If not local politics, what was it then? Or do you mean to tell me that local politics did not factor into national politics that gave rise to the idiology, if any, adopted by the national government? Or are you insinuating Nigeria ran national governemnt without a defined political idiology on the international platform. When WWII ended, there was no Nigeria as independent republic. However, after it gained independence, Nigeria established its ministry of external affairs, was admitted into UN and ran its foreign policy. NAM was/is idiological movement which Nigeria adopted as part of its foreign policy.
Politics › Re: South Korea In 1964 .a Few Years After Nigeria's Independence by DerideGull(m):
ROSSIKE: Sorry...You don't KNOW that. You terribly underestimate the power of unrestricted western market access, such as was granted the 4 Asian Tigers in the 50s. Look, even today, despite Ghana being the world's largest cocoa producer, she is still subject to massive tarriffs and market restrictions in trying to sell mere CHOCOLATE to the west. CHOCOLATE! Why do you think Ghana is not making billions a year from exporting manufactured chocolate which by right she should be doing? Why are Cadbury and Nestle chocolate giants and not some Ghana firm? Answer: Western protectionism. So is it when Ghana uses her minerals to manufacture electronics and cars that the west will open their markets? Historically, the minute you start to add real value to your raw materials as an African nation and seek to export to the west, all sorts of barriers come up. Add this to the economic pressure instituted on African governments to 'liberalise' their economies by permitting imports of items like textiles, rice etc... and it's not hard to see how local industries will simply not become replicas of 'South Korea' and 'Singapore' in a couple of decades like those states. I can guarantee you that if the barriers of western protectionism were removed for even SOMALIA, you would see that nation selling home built cars, trucks, and electronics to Europe and the west in 5-10 years. There is no magic to development. If a rich nation tells a poor nation ''we will buy all your wares at 600% of your costs'' the poor nation will stop its wars and division same day and start producing for export, because it is virtual free money! Afterall South Korea was locked in brutal dictatorship and corruption in the 50s before the west 'adopted' her. The west had even fought for her creation, protecting her against attacks from communist North Korea, Russia and China.

All Africa can hope for now is that the growing internal trade within the continent - which in itself is a function of rising incomes - is sustained long enough for big consumer markets to develop within the continent to help boost exports of African nations to one another. For instance the new Nissan plant being established in Nigeria could be a launch pad for exporting cars to the rest of Africa and the Middle East perhaps, and not least the Nigerian market itself. Seeking to do a ''South Korea'' today - by getting rich through exporting finished products to the west - is economically unfeasible, with western markets not only cornered by the Asian Tigers, but with slowing economic growth in the west making it a less and less attractive market for emerging economies.
Any Nigerian who had studied the regional governmental era in Nigeria before the Gowon’s blunders of 1967 will agree that regions had developmental pace within their capacity. Granted the power of unrestricted western market access is vital to Africa’s economy, it is imperative for the Africans to understand the power of internal diversity.

Please embark on exploratory research on Nestle because it has the largest cocoa farm in the world via Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast is the largest cocoa producer with Indonesia coming a distance second. Ghana remains a subsistent cocoa producer and has tropical clement and Cadbury partnership to thank for being mentioned in cocoa business in today's world. Cadbury is a typical British outfit and will continue the demonic practices of colonialism in Africa.

Africans have fundamental problem of always thinking that someone is responsible for their idiocy. I read there was a time Port Harcourt was a challenger to Lagos however certain group of Nigerians also made sure that Port Harcourt is politically destroyed by fanning ethnic enmity in the area.

abubaka101: I think you need to correct ur last paragraph..
But keep in mind that Nigeria and most other countries got independence after WW2, and in order for many of them to not engage in the ideological warfare between the Capitalist West and Communist East, that nearly caused WW3, they formed the Non-Aligned Movement. South Korea became an Capitalist holding, and North Korea became a Communist holding.
In other words, if a country had joined either bloc, it would benefit immensely from it, but could also lead the world to another war.
You can not eat your cake and have it. Nigerians foolishly chose to be part of “Non-Aligned Movement” primarily because of the political imbalance in the country. It is unfortunate people tend to use the threat of war to mask their political ingenuity. As currently configured, Nigeria has been a junk, is a junk and shall remain a junk unless something drastic is done.

That was some 10 years before the EFCC was established by OBJoke to do the same thing with a focus on his political enemies.
The current Head of EFCC, Lamorde was one of the pioneer police officers in the SFU.

Meanwhile, anyone who is aggrieved by REPORTS of inadequate funding for EFCC should petition his Senator and/or Representative to find out if/why there was not enough budget provision for the agency.
That is what civilised people do, innit huh

Pharoh: Same way they no longer have the right over all the people within Nigeria since the independence they granted us. There was never a treaty so if you have any evidence of a treaty then present it here on this thread.

The British parliament joined southern and northern Nigeria together and the British parliament also gave us independence. They no longer have sovereignty over Nigeria to enforce any so called treaty. Nigeria can only be broken into different parts whenever Nigerians decide so and not a fathom treaty that never existed.
Most Nigerians were willing to go their separate ways in 1967 however the British advisers to Gowon said no.

Please which Amaraku is under construction? The moronic Mallam Rochas Okorocha defied the cardinal rule of highway by attempting to erect a circle at Amaraku on the Owerre/ Okigwe trunk "A" road. He has rendered Orie Amaraku useless as well as people who earn daily meals through the activities in market. My in law's lockup shop was destroyed. As of this post, there is no compensation or work on the circle. It is sheer madness to think of building a circle in the middle of truck "A" road.
