Out there lies political witch-hunting, blackmails, harassment etc yet the tough ones got to be heard and win political offices. Are you saying women are not that tough?

BTW, since I became a mod only one female has been banned from this section to the best of my knowledge and she was not banned for more than 24hrs.

Also what gave you the impression am based in Nigeria? Is it written on my location or what?

Go and read that article again. It says quite clearly that they are quoting "Nigerian media sources." They were either bribed or 419ed (bribed most likely, cos its a free newspaper).

So because they are a free newspaper they can publish falsehood? In that case, we should expect Madueke to sue them anytime soon or do you think there's no need for her to do so because she has far more important tasks before her?

The best person they had close to being a presido was that cross eyed woman - what's her name again o? The nafdac one that became a power junkie, someone please help me o,

I loved that woman in her days as the nafdac boss! As a matter of fact, I respected a lot of ibos during obj's tenure but somehow, they turned into werewolfs during Yaradua's dispensation.

Most Nigerians respected that woman as a woman of steel! Integrity! Honour but we all know the story now. She is so bad that you don't even want to remember her name.

what is it with Nigerians and their fixation with the south east. Any discussion will lead to the south east. if we hate them so much lets allow them leave. just saying. by the way this is the only Nigerian site that is filled morons who only argue emotionally without making sense.

Back to the topic, every region in Nigeria can stand on their own if they have visionary leaders that will lead unselfishly. the north can invest heavily on agriculture and can stand on their own very well. they can invest in education and change the way the average man on the street thinks. i served in maiduguri and i remember how we used to go from house to house begging parents to send their kids to school even providing school materials and bags for them and yet they refused.

If they are able to keep Islamist extremist at bay and the current northern elite are wiped out, the north ca be a shining example of self sustainability.

and for all my south western brothers that keep yapping their mouth on this site, you are not better than anyone. everybody is in the ethnic group is in the same boat until they prove otherwise.

I still believe Nigeria as a Nation will Triumph. God bless Nigeria
Its rather interesting that for your very first post, you've come here just for the purpose of elevating yourself above others and condescendingly call them 'morons'. You've read just a few posts and concluded that the westerners are bullying the southeasterners and always make them the focal point. Well, well. . .I say we indeed have a long way to go in our educational system because it appears that a lot go to university but somehow, they don't assimilate basic study skills like reading.

A white man once said that if you want to hide something from a black man, put it in a book - why? Because the black man does not read!!

See let me tell you, if Nigeria eventually breaks up,we will go back home but i can promise you reaping what you did not sow this time will be like swallowing a bid stone cos am sure those that have laboured and brought Lagos to what it is today will not watch you take their sweat.it will not happen this time, instead we turn Lagos to Somalia the shame of Africa which it is already becoming.
Darling, I know that common sense is alien to you but try, muster a little effort and get to the minute one in there somewhere and think.

If Nigeria breaks up, and said has you have that you will go back home, why would you want to fight? If your properties can be uprooted to your land, by all means do so, we would not stop you, it's yours, you should have it. However, since these structures cannot be physically moved, you either demolish it or you hand it to the government of the day in exchange for money or, you apply to become a citizen or resident of that country but living there illegally and wanting to carry on trading would be strongly frowned upon and be met by resistance.

How old are you? Thirteen?  huh huh huh undecided undecided sad
Darling, if there is anything you should remember in your life, it is this: You can't teach me anything, why? Because i am Yoruba and you ibo. By the mere distinguishing of our ethnic stock, it should sound a bell to you that i'm intellectually your superior in ever facet of life.

Now, with that cleared up, i'm not in any shape or for saying that you fold your arms and not put up a fight if trouble comes knocking at your door but for the few years i've spent on planet earth as a Yoruba ilk, I know that we wouldn't bring trouble to your doors(our doors by the way) if you leave in peace. If you decide to be stubborn and stay put, then of course the consequences can only be imagined.

As for the Lagos Ole; I have adviced my people to leave that city with their lifes dat is the most important. There is enough wealth in the east and with accountability, they will only find gain and no loss.

If OPC or any other Lagos Ole tries anything on our peace loving people going about their legitimate business then we will all choose death be prepared to either kill us all or we kill u all. Congo and Somalia will look like child's play in contrast to wat Nigeria becomes.

honeysnookums,

what would be the need for bloodshed when you have agreed that you will leave in peace? We are not vampires, you know?

Your people would continue to trade unhindered as you do presently until the dissolution of Nigeria. We would not cause you any grief, we would even assist in putting your belongings in the luxurious buses. It would be a win-win for both sides.

Yorubas don't really go on the offensive, we go on the defensive so if you don't bring sh.it, you won't get shiatsu.

LMAO, At some of the comments above. Some people are very quick to assume the Break up of Nigeria is a Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba affair. Very wrong.

The only way Nigeria will be broken is by War and where are wars often fought, in the key cities were everybody resides.

People are dreaming of reaping were dey did not sow, simply not going to happen and unlike the 1960s, the Majority of Lagosians are not yoruba so any aggression will back fire. We built lagos with our money and no thief will steal from us without a good fight.

Then we all go away separate ways. angry
Honey, booboo, come, let's yarn.

So, what exactly are you advocating? That you wish for Nigeria to remain an entity so that you can carry on trading in our land?

What brought you into Lagos in the first place? Were you invited? Or was it that you ventured out of your territory because of hunger and Lagos being the capital at the time your first port of call? So, after making all this money why didn't you return to your bush to develop it? Why did you get so comfortable in another's land?

You built Lagos? From when to when? Show us what exactly you have built, darling. Remember, it's not all talk. That you infiltrate another's land for a better life does not equate you building it, booboo. It means that you reduced the qualify of life of the original inhabitants because you didn't come to give to the society but to take. Your assertion totally flawed, sweet pumpkin.
PoliticsRe: Can The North Stand Alone? by Desola(f): 11:22am On Nov 09, 2011
Someone said that in the eventual dissolution of Nigeria, their traders would sell their shops to the Hausas who would sell less valuable merchandise thereby having an effect on the Yorubas IGR and I couldn't but laugh in mandarin.

Let's clear this up once and for all, shall we?

When Nigeria dissolves, Hausa would be asked to leave and so would ibos. No Hausa would be buying from ibos or vice versa because for them to do so, they would be required to have a residence permit or business permit to engage in any form of trading. In essence, when the ibos leave, out of the good nature of the oodua sovereign, we might decide to give them something for their properties and then hand those properties to indigenous traders and business goes on as usual. I am sure my ogbomoso kins known for their expertise in trade all over west Africa would be happy to return home to milk this.

So, please, quit this delusion that you will be missed because in actual fact, you will be the ones missing the land of milk and honey that takes you for you and your vices. There shall be no individual trading of your assets, you sell it all to our government or you apply to become citizens and kiss our gods!

Keep deluding yourself that ondo has more oil than the SE or that the SE has one of the lowest IGR. When Nigeria eventually breaks up and everybody answers their  father's name, that's  when it will ddawn on you that the you've been decieving yourself. I think the SW should just take Desola's advice and everything will be ok.
We are talking about fact and realities here, Afam and not some delusion of grandeur.

Isn't it a fact that oil is currently being drilled in Ondo at present? Isn't it a fact that ondo is bringing to the table? Does your SE bring the proceeds of this "presumed" oil to the table? Fact is NO! So, as a matter of fact, you have no argument!

If I wanted to be myopic like you, I would be adding the virtual oil in ogun, kwara and Lagos to bump up the Yoruba presumptuous igr too which in no doubt will blow the whole of your region out of the waters but I don't deal in paper assumptions, I deal in living facts!

Anyway, thanks for telling ekt to take my advise. So, who's advise would you follow? That of beaf telling you to follow them and he will make you fishers of oil because your livelihood depends on it?

Our nation cannot do without tribal sentiment because we are tribal in nature! How can you group 3 strong nations with their distinct identities together and expect there not to be tribal tension? It is just impossible!

The zoning arrangement was the only commonsensical thing the PDP ever did for a volatile nation like Nigeria but out of greed, they renegade leaving the electorates to pay the ultimate prize.

Obasanjo and his cohorts are the devils that befell Nigeria, not the Hausas!
PoliticsRe: Can The North Stand Alone? by Desola(f): 9:14am On Nov 09, 2011
The ND belongs to the elites and the western nations and the sooner Nigerians accept that fact, the better it would be for us.

Yorubas need to get back to basics and start some serious farming and cocoa production if they really are bent on having no relations with the Hausa or align with Ghana and neighbouring countries for food supply.

If they so wish, they can focus on their gas market and start to drill for oil in Lagos(offshore) by adding ogun to it also but that would be some costly shiatsu and take us back to aquare one as it were in Nigeria.

Right now, our main focus should be crop production and opening our borsers up to low income earning migrants from our non former Nigerian neighbours to replace the Hausas that would leave.

Ibos wouldn't be missed as we would get our own people to replace them, selling good quality products. We held that market firmly before we let them take over so, that should be a doddle. Technically, ibos make more off us than they contribute because they only employ their own and although their taxes come to the lgs government, the bulk of their money is spent in their own econmy. We need to put a stop to that shiatsu and make sure that thw slogan "owo eko, eko lo ngbe" is practised! We replace them with our people, employ our own people and/or low income workers from benin and togo and make sure the money stays in our region.

We already run industries and are second to none in administration so we should be good to go.
PoliticsRe: Can The North Stand Alone? by Desola(f): 9:01am On Nov 09, 2011
Yorubas would say: t'oju ba farabale, aa rimu = A patient and calm eye(s) would see the nose.

Ask yourself this: who is really the king in this union? Don't be so quick to discount the "uneducated ones". Ask: whose departure from this union would be immediately felt by you and I?

Is it the departure of the oil rich ND who provides our politicians a life of luxury or the departure of the man whom you interact with daily when you buy your food or get to the office and he opens the gates for you or cheerfully let's you into your own house? The one whom you call on to mend your shoes or sew that hole in your shirt?

The ND does not have an impact on ordinary Nigerians but on the likes who squander unimaginable amount of money on houses in Vienna.

With these very basic facts, ask yourselves: who truly is king? The North or the ND?

The ibos till today, lament that starvation was one of the factors that put them at the losing end in the civil war. Now take this case study, and run with it.

Some would say that I'm scared, but I say, that I'm being factual.

Just because the North does not blow their horns about these facts does not mean that they have nothing. As a matter of fact, they are far more clever than some of you southerners who only see the oil. You all need to think deep!

Right now, the ND means didly squat to me as an ordinary Nigerian!
