olawalebab: Thanks for that innocent response. Am a full blooded yoruba man, to the core. Going by Nigeria political configuration, kwara falls in the north(dominated by the hausa). Yoruba Kwara has not benefits from all the goodies Awo give the yoruba south west rather they benefits from Sar'dauna largess. That's why my comment tend to be of hausa, we are not sell out. As per if Nigeria break up, where do we belong, that is very clear, where our heart lies is where we are. Thank you where do your hearts lie? |

You guys are sell outs and it hurts me that you still call yourselves Yorubas! When Nigeria breaks up today, it kills me to know that you will align with the abokis or that if ever you come to our side, you'd be stooges! |

IG: @KnowAll, as a Northerner, let me tell you that Northerners have never rejected Illorin people. Illorin has been culturally part of the North for hundreds of years while still remaining Yoruba. The cap you are talking about is not a Hausa cap. It's a cap worn across the North. In fact the best makers of that cap are found in Borno and not in Hausaland.
Another thing you may find difficult to comprehend is that for Muslims, faith brotherhood comes before ethnic brotherhood. Being too ethnocentric is frowned at in Islam. It is considered a sign of ignorance. Logically it is wrong to hate somebody for his ethnicity because he didn't chose which ethnic group to be born into. Unadulterated OPATA!!! See what these kwarans have caused now. Aboki sef dey put mouth calling them aboki. |

Bloody hypocrites! The same arsewipes who shout tribalism are the same morasuc.kers who would say Nigeria is superior to Ghana but when you say Yoruba trumps all other ethnic groups in Nigeria, they raise the red flag. Awon oniyeye!

Lets not delude ourselves now and have a factual posterior. Nigeria as it stand is severely divided along ethnic and religious lines and for that reason, any elections, from now onward; for the remainder of its existence shall be governed along ethnic lines.
In as far as the ethnic groups that constitute Nigeria today did not come together in agreement to live together as one, we would never have an unbiased, non partisan government.
Perhaps when we start to see each other as one but that would be a tall order as the last election and the betrayal of the North has made cork sure that this country would never be truly one. |

ak47mann: Yoruba's are carwords look they will never accept it,always find igbos threatening, look as Nigeria stands now they lose more in the union than any group.
awolowo quickly use biafran money for free education in the west but still their so call paddy paddy wanted to jail him for second time which lead to him committing suicide now tell me is that life?no wonder IBB treated them unfairly politically cos he have seen that they are just carword simple. nothing will happen. look at the situation in the north little wonder that they lost a lot the same people they always suck up to,and still they get the worst treatment from them.
Chief Toye Ogunsuyi, President of the Yoruba Community in Plateau State, has declared that the race lost 156 lives and property worth N2.5 billion to the ethno-religious crisis in Jos, the state capital, between 2008 and last January, many yoruba including offsprings, youth corps members and students, as well mothers and children were killed, " --- Nigerian Tribune Newspapers. Saturday February 27, 2010. Don't be silly! What is representation in the centre when it is only for money sharing between politicians. Your sons and daughters are occupying significant positions now so tell me how that has directly translated to development in your region? On a personal note, the marginalisation of Yoruba thieves at the centre is a very welcomed development as it allows the government in Yorubaland(ACN) to look inwardly and galvanize for regional co-operation. Leave talk, despite our shadowy representation at the top, aren't we working in our region? That really is what matters. Governance that directly relates to the existence of the people and not just a mere chest beating exercise that we are represented in looting which would not be apportioned to us. Your mentality shows the mind of an average ibo man, it's all about "see me na me dey hia" with absolute zilch! Lastly, may I advise you to abandon your futile effort at stroking the flames of emotional blackmail to gain validation or support for your hatred of the north. You lot are just getting pathetic by the second. If you feel that the north is marginalising you, take up arms and fight them, afterall you have done so and lost gallantly in the past so you at least have practical experience. Do it again, there is a shortage of 'sharwama'. Like I say always, yes, some northerners are barbarians but their barbaric nature is mostly due to ignorance and subjugation by their elites. That leaves little to be said about half educated ibos who still carry the spirit of hatred and doom toward the west. As far as i'm concerned, in Nigeria of today; ibos are the enemies. |
Politics › Re: Letter From Lt.col. Ojukwu To Lt. Col.banjo by Desola(f): 1:00pm On Nov 20, 2011 |
I smile when this letter is posted and I frankly think that it should either be made a sticky or be re-posted at intervals to remind the westerners and mid westerners of the evil that is called the ibos. It is clear from the message of this letter that Oju iku had nothing else in mind but domination and I rejoice at the fact that it was a Yoruba man who put him in his place and sent him scampering to Ivory Coast.
Yorubas must never forget the evil that is ibo and for the remainder of Nigeria's existence, desist in voting anything ibo. Moreso, we should strive to get these thorns in our flesh back to their ramshackles and free Yorubaland of impending doom which they are planning to unleash. |

If you can be proud to say you are Nigerian, so should I be proud to say i'm 'Yoruban'. The chicken came before the egg. My ethnic group existed before Nigeria, which makes my ethnic group more relevant to me than sharing a fake country with my enemies.
If you don't see the wrong in Nationalism, you shouldn't see the wrong in tribalism.

OAM4J: Could have bet u have more jeans trousers and short pants in your wardrobe than skirts and iro. You can still get to like football, but do you roll more with guys than ladies? More female friends than male but would share intimate information with the males. I'm a skirt, blouse and 5inch stiletoes chick o, forget! Football? Well, I was a mad fan of the Super Eagles till they gave me high blood pressure and basically swore off football ever since. Personally, I don't understand the craze over the premiership, it's just crazy, most especially from Africans! Its colonialism part 2. |

Politics › Re: Why Do Ladies Shy Away From Politics & Political Discussions? by Desola(f): 9:15pm On Nov 12, 2011 |
Hahaha. . .this is very funny. Some truths, but nevertheless funny and devoid of facts but hypothesis for the most part PStylish: @OP,All I think its genetic. Its just in their make up.I read an article sometime back on women and
testosterone levels.Testosterone is the male hormone. All women are entitled to at least 10%
of this male hormone (testosterone) by right. However, for some reason I(we) cant explain some women (a good number) have higher levels -
15,20,25% etc. This explains the Tomboy syndrome. You find these kind of women getting interested in
masculine affairs more often than not. They are the ones who always want to be with the guys
without fear of being laid.Check out their other masculine interests below:
1. They are interested in politics and political discussions. They will go any length to
contest and win an election including sacrificing their marriage and family life.
2. They enjoy football and are passionate about it. They are the 3,4 or 5 ladies in the midst
of 100 guys or so watching an EPL match in a viewing centre.
3. They enjoy playing such brain-tasking games as Chess, Scrabble,Monopoly e.t.c as against
Snake & Ladder, Ludo and the like which majority of ladies enjoy playing.
4. They prefer Movie Magic, MNET Movies e.t.c to Africa Magic
5. You find them in the armed forces, police and other paramilitary outfits.
6. They study male dominated courses like engineering, architecture, estate management, etc.
7. Medically, they have been observed to produce more male than female children. Most end up
with only 1 daughter or none irrespective of the number of children they bear.
8. Physically, they grow beards and moustache like guys. 9. They are found on online forums such as this. The truth is most of the ladies on this forum
are tomboys. An average home based Nigerian lady doesnt have any business coming to an online
forum. To discuss what? with whom? They'd rather hang out with fellow ladies and
discuss(gossip) their issues or watch Africa Magic rather than stay put reading on a PC and
typing responses. Most of the ladies and even guys I have met dont fancy NL like you foreign
ones thats if they have ever heard of it. The reason Nigerians in diaspora like and flock to
this forum is that your immediate environment is hostile and there is absence of
neighbourhoodliness which this forum provides for you guys. Most home based guys on NL like
myself came here for runs(business) and then got interested in the topics on the
frontpage.Infact, the person that told me about this forum is not a Nairalander. Most of the
guys who read and contribute to threads on this forum are not home based and the sex ratio of
this forum is say 7:1 in favour of guys with most of the ladies being foreign based.
Hence, leave the normal ladies with normal testosterone levels alone to mind all their
feminine things/affairs - things that are in tandem with their nature and build up as God
created them. |
