I'm doing pretty well typing from my phone, non? Please excuse the typo and grammatical errors. |
tpia@:Yet you are on that same site exposing your chronic state of lunacy in which the wind blows you in all direction and display all your deranged wares for all to see on whichever thread has the misfortune of receiving you. I am yet to see a thread in which you have made a coherent response to the topic at hand. I hold my breath. |
DeLaRue: London is not centrally placed.By that reasoning then, you should be advocating for Lagos as the capital. |
DeLaRue: Sorry, I did not cover the second part of your response.I have Ondos, Akure in my family and as friends and to be honest, this is the first I've ever come to the knowledge of Ondo/ Akure wanting to distinguish itself/Themselves from other Yorubas. I'm afraid you are a lone ranger on that path. Well, the Ibadan dialect or dare I say Osun dialect is the standard Yoruba dialect if the Yoruba films and theatre are also anything to go by. I know that I understand that dialect better than any other dialect aside mainstream Lagos and Ijebu dialects. As per Ibadan being to large to develop, I beg to differ. Awolowo proved that it can be done and has the unitary system not cut the life of our regional prowess short, I doubt you will be singing that tune today. Akure is a beautiful city, visited for my secondary school admission back then. Stayed in a lovely hotel and enjoyed every bit of it. In as much as I didn't get to see much of the city then? It left a very good print on my psyche. However, my vote still goes to Ibadan for its history, size and strategic location. If that idea seem to incomprehensible to you, you can start a campaign against joining the new Yoruba nation. I must warn you though, that alone you shall stand. |
Ibrahim mr fish: So,Kogi is now part of south ?I will really like to see what on earth, can make us joined the oduwa republic.U have to kill all able body men in Kogi for that to happen.Kogi, kwara and Benue are all north, accept that or put your region in hundred year war.We will never give up,what belong to us.But there are Yorubas in those states. Are you happy for them to be with you? |
shymexx: Interesting thread.Ni kukuru(in short), you are substantiating his observation. Hmmm...all these Ijebu waterside people gan sef. |
tpia@:Oh, now I get it, you got some ibo dingadingaling earlier today! So happy for you snookums. Old hags need some love too even if it's from ibos. That you are almost at menopause doesn't mean it should gather cobwebs if Yoruba men are not checking it out ojare. Sis, I can't hate your game jo! After all Yoruba men dey pot ibo girls too. 2 ge 4! Jaye ori e, ko sarugbo n'ghana jo! |
tpia@:Is this an avenue to settle scores abi what? Moreover, what has okoro madu got to do with this now? Are you ovulating or pmsing or better still suffering from the effects of menopause? Because I no just understand this cattiness tonight o. If you are not careful, I will b1tch slap and defang you tonight. Who died and made you statistician for ijebu a supposed inter marriages? Oponu ayirada |
DeLaRue: Sorry everyone, I started the thread and appeared to disappear. I didn't mean to be rude. I ran out of juice on my laptop and was hoping it would be back but up till now, nothing. I had someone over to fix my gen, but when I got home it still didn't work. As a final act of desperation, I thought to try a DIY on it, and presto, it worked! Why didn't you make a case for Akure being the capital city with grounds for your demands; from the onset? Rather, you came out baring your biceps showing your tiny muscle and asking for anyone to come and see if they measure up. Your approach was very wrong indeed. I am a Lagosian, but I make for Ibadan to stay as the capital because of not rich heritage and accomplishments. Now, this is not saying that Akure hasn't achieved similar feat but it does not boast of similar size and diversity as Ibadan. More so, Ibadan's dialect is standard and easier to understand. |
CyberG: Kare joo, ignore him, ayaba! We know your punches are strong enough to knock 7 out at once but reserve that strength for when we will need it on the other side!Sure thang! ![]() |
boay: Contribute to the topic instead of frustrating the effectiveness of the post. Please try to understand, no offence ma'amIs this your other moniker? Epic fail. My mission here is to rile nitwits. If you fall into that category, please be a good spot and suck it up! The more you respond with your mundane comments the more you frustrate the flow so put a sock in it; Shake Baka and vamoose! |
CyberG: Nonetheless, be civil or all your posts will be hidden if you keep being aggressive. If you are Yoruba, behave, if not be civil and show some respect to your commentators (as they have also tolerated something you said which they disagree with) because if you were the only one here, you would not be talking to yourself alone! His aim is to rile me enough to say something untoward so as to have me removed. I know his game. |

Contribute at/ to what exactly? |
CyberG: Knock it off man! Stop pursuing our sister, just talk to her properly and I am sure you can both disagree and still hug each other. If you are a Yoruba, you interest is her interest : TO BOTH PROTECT YOU COLLECTIVE INTERESTS! So you see there's no need for unnecessary harsh words! That one? He is lightweight. He has Oam4j to thank for my decorum. He must think I'm ibo. Me! I no look uche face o. Maa ti won fun loju Pali. |
0monnakoda: Thanks for your comments. Any person who is truly "Yoruba" knows that Kwara State is the homeland of "Yoruba" which to me means Oyo and "Old Oyo". Just like the word Gay has changed its meaning "Yoruba" has now come to mean something entirely different from what it meant 200 years agoItan abalaye from the stables of Nairaland's armchair historian. Muhehehe... |
Pukkah: What a laughable, baseless and unsubstantiated claim. It is true! Tilapia? Sorry, Tpia confirmed it. She is an authority as she has carried out an empirical research all over Yorubaland most especially Ogun state, even though she hails from Ondo. |
tpia@:Muhehe... Oro na dun, o fe ke! ![]() Is your picnic finally complete? Found those missing sandwiches yet! |
tpia@:Muhehe... Oro na dun, o fe ke! ![]() |
0monnakoda: That is nearly wittyAs long as you know it! |
0monnakoda: We were having a debate until some attention seeking ...let us be polite and say person came here with their insecurities.I know! When they told me it was you, I wasn't surprised. |
So glad Jarus is here. |
funshint: Generally 4rm my observation; ilorin pple are a confused bunch because:Thank you ojare, Eyan iyi! |

No thanks. I don't want boko to haram mi. |
Jarus: chei, yarinya dan iskaEnemy within |
jahrule: If Ibadan is the administrative head of Yoruba, Ekiti / Ondo as Academic/ research Headquarters, Ife Osun is spiritual home and Lagos been Economic Headquarters. I think Kwara can be the Military Headquaters since they are more like that or what do you think about this. And when Aboki says rankadede to them, they turn back and stab their Yoruba brother. Otio o. Say rankadede or Salam alaikum to kwarans and they forget Yoruba sharp sharp. |
Jarus: omo Yoruba ni mo joor. Emi Iyeru okin omo olofa mojo, omo abisujooko, omo laare buureOlofa mojo ko, olojojo ni. Aboki feeling funky. |
hercules07: Offa people see themselves more as Yorubas than Northerners, you might have not lost anything by not being a South Westerner, but, if this nation should collapse and everybody goes his way, my brother, it will be better you go with those who speak your language o.Lie! As an Eko chick, I will go with Egun before going with Aboki kwarans. Although I do not share a language with Eguns, I am accustomed to their way of life. Kwarans should better go with those they share customs and practises not forgetting religion. Ni kukuru, let Aboki take the assimilated Yorubas. Kachifo! |

I might be the first, who knows?
However, Ijebu's do have unconditional love for Egba's and Awori's - and the bond is very strong.
