You actually put Covenant University that just started engineering 3 years ago and still has no Masters or PHD in engineering. I have a feeling you graduated from Covenant university and that would explain your dumb choice of putting Covenant university on this list.
At degree level or at Msc/Phd level? I think OP clearly stated he was talking about degree level.

1. Character assassination? well I am not the one who have been found out to lie ceaselessly on NL, neither am I the only one to have accused you of lying. "Ida e lo pe ara re leru" - you simply showed true to type

2. Let me also address this your submission in bold.
a. So you now agree that investment in schools has any return at all. This classic from you who a while back saw and stated investment in schools is of negative effect
b. I once told you that I cannot help your comprehension deficit. If you do not see investment in schools as a fundamental input into the economic development of a state or country, then I am not interested in debating with a person with such low-level intellect
c. You put up lies in most of your submissions, when found out, you accuse people of twisting your posting. This was someone who accused Osun state of not paying teachers at all, yet when evidence put forward, you change story. Schools are built, you claim there was no IGR to pay the teachers, they showed you that Osun had a modest and decent IGR by all standards, you changed story.......and you tell me you have a credible character?

grin @ OP

1. The idea of increasing IGR and gradually growing our infrastructure is the best mode of running government.
2. Due to the kind of political system we run in Nigeria, every political party is judged based on performance.
3. If a political party is unable to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people due to low IGR, the masses will vote out such party.
4. Smart political parties will rather incure huge debts so as to fix the deficit in infrastructure, because the people only believe what they see and not the salaries that go into peoples pockets.
5. Since government is a continuum, successive governments are expected to build on the existing plan towards the development of their respective states.
6. I believe every state should have a short, mid, and long term development plan which political parties must fit into.

Wishing you a great day! grin
Great points. Your Point :The people want immediate result and the leaders give them, but I think we the people who understand things better should press for a balance between both.

1. You mean you needed to type the full meaning of IGR to demonstrate your knowledge of it? grin grin grin grin It's a pity you sunk your profile so low.
2. You commended Aregbe for starting out Garment Factory, yet derided him for building standard schools? Bros, is your head "paining" you or something? I mean how do you reason? You do not even know how a govt should balance its responsibilities. I keep asking myself why should any decent person engage you in argument with your penchant for "twist" and "turns"

Don't worry, I know your type. You are simply a liar, a non-starter and "self-overrated". You think Osun state's growth will be hinged on your myopia?
In the face of superior point, you quickly resort to character assassination, I commended Aregbe for the Garment Factory because it can yield returns in short term or medium term at most unlike Schools where the returns are long term and harder to guaranty. There are short term, medium term, and long term returns in economics ventures. You obviously don't understand this simple fact and kept categorizing all projects as just projects.
Politics › Should States Prioritize Increase Of IGR Or Infrastructures ? by Desyner(op):
Seeing the challenges that states are going through in the past 3 years since oil prices dipped and Federation Account Allocation FAA also followed suite, I noticed some states that aren't doing so well in basic obligations like salary, road maintenance are churning out projects at an alarming rate still. these states wouldn't be defaulting salary payment if they have a robust IGR (internally Generated Revenue).

This has lead me to ask the question of which should be prioritized above the other? Massive infrastructure and crippling loans to achieve infrastructural revolution at the expense of recurrent expenditure like salaries?

OR

Increase in IGR to help gradually grow infrastructures and moderate loans to maintain reasonable progress in infrastructural growth?

When I pointed out to him that his submission is turning logic on its head. I told him that you don't grow IGR simply by borrowing money (more like his thinking is that Aregbesola borrowed money and added to an account called IGR? grin grin grin), I explained to him that his borrowing is to address infrastructure deficit which stimulate the economy to attract more IGR........He then spun things around that I simply restarted what he earlier meant and that I was the one contradicting myself.

Now these were the realities
1. He did not understand IGR, how it is conceptualised and how it operates. I remeber I even explained to him once that IGR was not static and the aspiration of every govt is to grow IGR.
2. if his basis of argument was on IGR and he well understood it, then why the needless arguement that about how Osun supposedly "grew IGR"
How can you say I don't understand IGR (Internally Generated Revenue) ?
You are pathetic as a debater or political jobber or whatever you are. The way I see you right now is as someone who needs sleep to articulate his thoughts. Just re-read your own post and realize you need rest.

I even commended Aregbe for starting out with Garment Factory - a revenue generating outlet - but scolded him for not continuing in that direction to balance out recurrent expense like salary. Check my posts, I also suggested Aregbe should have prioritize an Industrial Estate with power, road access, secuirty etc. Remember? I did that on this same thread where you are trying to twist my words.

Your are pathetic. Keep changing monikers and I will keep taking you to the cleaners.

So we were having what I thought should have been a credible argument. Prior to this, @Desyner had been "Osun had no IGR", "Osun cannot raise the needed IGR" infact he made an accertion that Osun was not growing its IGR
Stop twisting my words. By saying "Osun state's IGR is left unattended to" It doesn't mean they N0.00 IGR. It means the IGR isn't growing proportionately with resources that are suppose to influence its growth - resource like Debt, staff/workforce strength.

In fact, let me address this illogical, ignorant and absurd comment.

1. Debt is a necessary tool for growth and development as long as it's used to promote the same growth and development and we can see in vivid colors what they are doing in Osun state with their debt, taxes and allocations. The state practically commission outstanding and world class projects every day and so far, we can not see what your own SE states did with their debts, taxes and allocations so your point was really silly, pointless, ignorant and redundant.

[s]2. All your SE states including Anambra have debts and we can not see what they did or are doing with their debts, taxes and allocation so your primary concern and headache should be your worthless states and corrupt and incompetent governors in the SE.

3. 4 out of your SE states collected salary bail out and on top of that, they have debts and we are yet to see anything meaningful they did with their debts, taxes and allocations.

So, if you are going to talk about debts, you should pay more attention to your worthless SE states with debt and ZERO to show, instead of Osun with debts and major and world class projects to show.[/s]

Keep quiet and seat somewhere with that rubbish..
In other places where they borrow for infrastructure, do they pay half salary and service the debt with salary of people who didn't consent to it?

That 166 billion debt is just too much for a state like Osun.
What da hell is that Aregbesola thinking? That guy is the worst governor in Yorubaland.
165 Billion is too fucckng much!!!
As we speak he is orchestrating another theft by building an intl airport - the MKO Intl Airport at N69B - that leads to nowhere. Osun has no conducive industrial estate with power, security, road access, etc but Aregbe is aggressive pursuing an Intl Airport.
The man's focus is on short term contracts or projects that can impress the gullible and give ample looting margin.
