Smart asss.

I remember all those volume correlations on this stock with Wapic. A disconnect happened sometime in late July/early August and Access carried on from there...

It is clear that the next decade will see an increase in the business of financial engineering and the floating of cash shells (in good time, some cash shells will even be listed on the NSE!)

Gird your loins peeps...a storm's coming!

*You may also interpret this to mean an upswing in the number of forward-looking paragraphs*

passwelle: On IEI, the 2012 results released in May 14 grin can be accessed here http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/6176_INTERNATIONAL_ENERGY__AUDITED_2012_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_MAY_2014.pdf
On page 72 there is a N1,7bn figure and in the notes it states:
This is an investment in IEI Investment Limited. IEI Investment Limited was the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for facilitating the Investment in Heritage Bank Limited. The Note issued to IEI Plc by IEI Investment Limited is redeemable or convertible on 31 December 2013.The Notes gives the holder a right to surrender 100% of the note certificate or part thereof for conversion into ordinary shares of Heritage Bank Limited, the post acquisition entity that emerged from Societe Generale Bank Ltd at the end of the tenor. The conversion of the Note is meant to be at 15% premium on the net asset value of Heritage Bank."
Anyone know what happened after the 31st of Dec?
This reminds me of forward looking things...

passwelle: Haba, trust me I did. As at 14:28:56 Access had traded 8,558,927 units. 1 second later there was a deluge of trades and it closed with a total of 29,991,653 units traded. I documented the stream of trades at 14:28:57, but thought to spare the house the screen dumps as I exited Access fully yesterday, and didnt jump in today. I am a bit risk averse, something to do with believing that lightning doesn't strike in the same place more than 3 times grin

omaojo1: Show me one 'gentlemanly' governed enterprise and I'll show you a million corporation governed by uncivilized men. Same was/is said of Steve Jobs, Dangote, Alex Fergusson, Adenuga, Rupert Murdoch, and so on.

Plus, that has not stopped Yahoo, Softbank, Fidelity and GS from the kill they made. It is the money making opportunity we are looking at mehn......

Yahoo is still dazzled seeing the shares it holds exceed its own mkt value.

Sorry sir. Check out the posts preceding those teeth.
As usual, this is what animates us.

Omaojo hehehe...

Here's what a former Alibaba employee had to say about his alma mater:

"Alibaba is not a group of civilized gentlemen, or men who nicely play by the rules..."

"They are reckless with ambition, they are radical and aggressive. Everyone walks out of a meeting room beet-red from shouting, that's how we held meetings - our voices raised. Its very intense."

I'm particularly drawn to the first paragraph. I've seen such sentiments echoed in cowboyist Chinese philosophy.

Moneysage: Ogbeni, are you discounting my moniker? You don see where a sage dey throw dice before -Aristotle, Socrates dem? Even if a sage would wager, wouldn't he rather do so with the simpleton next door; or you want a professional bettor like you fall his handshuh

Moneysage: If lightning never strikes twice on the same spot, then your "hoping" for "same conditions" may remain an unfulfilled one. I also have been 'scoping' this coy, no less than passwelle vs. ACCESS and one thing is certain - liquidity.

I can almost bet that before Q3 '15 an upside would be attained, perhaps not as impressive as the latest. Now, call this monkey hunting if you will. grin
My bruv, you've equated a natural phenomenon metaphorically, to a social phenomenon which you will agree with me can diverge from expectations without apologies. It may sound cliche, but in the latter, history may repeat itself.

On the other hand, since the tone of our posts sound probabilistic, I think they're both valid. Let's see how it goes.

Emmm, about that bet, how far are you willing to go?

chukyjones: hello Dexter,
what's your take on COSTAIN at the current price. i remember you were once a coded promoter of the stock
I have it on my charts actually. I'm hoping I can identify the same conditions that occurred last year and position accordingly.

For now it's been trading within a range, I wouldn't recommend a position sir.

Dexterax: As for 2, most of the proceeds went (in the same late afternoon trading) to increase my stake in Africa Prudential Registrars.
The bolded attempts to treat the issue of whether it's possible to buy and sell simultaneously.

It didn't happen simultaneously, but was transacted about 20 to 30 minutes apart. And it was mostly possible due to a cordial relationship with my brokers.

As for 2, most of the proceeds went (in the same late afternoon trading) to increase my stake in Africa Prudential Registrars.
