Family / Re: He Doesn't Like Sex....wat Do I Do by deybowlah: 7:20am On Oct 08, 2013
@ OP
Your hubby not liking sex doesnt make him Gay or a cheat. Infact it doesnt mean that he dislikes sex. He could be indeed tired. My hubby for example loves his SLEEP than s*x. When we got married i reserved s*x for nite thing and before I knw he is asleep especially when i had baby and she no gree sleep fast; hubby will be playing with us and before i knw he is fast asleep. Kiaaa. Thank shocked God he was willing to talk about it and then we discovered nitee wasnt a gud time. Earlymorning s*x is so sweet on weekends you knw he is not going to work. Remind him that he can wake you up with his p*nnis by 5am. Then during weekends, tho, u said u are self employed; take break off work if possible and tell him you are at home cos of him so he musnt go out, get someone to care for your baby and have fun together. I remember my hubby wispering to me one afternoon that i should follow him to the room so he can deal with me(he has his slang for s*x) I buffed it off cos we had lots of family around (A Burial was coming up). I never wise then ooo. If he gives me that offer now i will grab it cos its a cheap way to have fun and people watching ur kids. So OP, dont be shy to talk to ur hubby and get what works for him before seeking other help.ow i will grab it cos its a cheap way to have fun.

keep trying. it's not easy losing a loved one and we all handle our losses differently. so you need to understand . you kids are 7 that is enough reason for her to keep crying. she is scared she won't be able to care for you all. Tell her if she loves you and wants the best for you in school, then she has to stop crying now that you are with her cos you will be sad when you are back to school. if she loves movies get her to watch lots of movies together , If she enjoys company of her friends then talk to them to please come around more.
lastly pray for her as I said we all handle losses differently so pray for fortitude to bear the loss. I will do that too .

i will advise you dont give all those medication to your child. just give paracetamol when you notice a fever.all those teething mixtures are bad cos we tend to abuse them. most times when children have fever, it is always misunderstood as theething and where as its either malaria or infection. i av confirmed this thrice with my daughter. So what i will say is when u notice fever or child actting strange, give paracetamol for a day and if no changes, take him or her to doctor.pls dont give piccan bonababe or theething powder its a waste of money and its also dangerous. its even unlikely you get original theething powder.
MamaDee7: Hi everyone, I'm new here and I must commend u all for all d advice, encouragement and suggestions that u give. smiley

My baby is 8months+ and is teething but I dont know what to give him o. People have advised dt I give Piccan or Bonababe but I dont know which is better. Then, what is teething powder? Is it a medicine? Some have also said that I should not use anything. Ive taken him to d hospital and he is presently being treated for malaria and is on anitbiotics. Pls mums, what should I do?
Pls forgive my naivety. I'm a ftm. undecided

Family / Re: I Don't Know How And What To Shop For My Unborn Child by deybowlah: 12:46am On Jun 17, 2013
I will advice you buy just the compulsory things cos after the baby is born u will keep buying you never stop buying with kids. Apart from hospital needs, you will need
Plenty diapers, a big flask to store hot water, a small flask, baby bathtub, body and sleep suits, bassinet or moses basket (if you don't want to share bed)socks and caps, 5flannels and 1shawl, spOon and cup, small cupboard or basket, clothes hanger for drying his clothes and pegs, disinfectant for his clothes and surroundings, savlon for his bath nd mild sponge and soap.your wife will need breastpads and nursing bras, night gown with front buttons or zip for easy breastfeeding
These are very important. When the baby arrives and you see the need for other stuffs then you can buy more. Do not waste too much money(I wish someone told me that)
You don't need a baby cot for now cos baby is still small and fragil a bassinet or moses basket will do.
You can get this stuffs in a store that stock baby things
You can also mail me if you wouldn't mind on aybetty17@yahoo.com I wouldn't mind sparing a day for your wife. I may show her some good shops and then she goes later to buy them.

op I think you need to be determined to get it done. its very painful i know but think about what you are putting your husband thru. Buy KY jelly from a drugstore. its a very gud lubricant or your husband may use c*nd*ms.
Its most likely your h*men is broken already as you claimed to see blood but that wont make easy penetration as ur v*gin* is still very tight. Your husband may also use his fingers as this will break the hym*n if it hasnt been broken already and also help penetration
you should also get tested for Candida as one poster suggested.

Mothers day in the British calender is celebrated a Sunday before palm Sunday which mostly fall in march while Americans celebrate mothers day in the second Sunday in May. We follow the British calender in Nigeria and until the advent of social media we hardly hear of the mothers day in may. Choose the one u want and it worth celebrating my mother ten times a year.

Ok now I can see most people don't like locks. What can I do to my 15months old girl's hair? I have shaved her hair twice and it keeps locking as it grows back. It's real fight when we comb and it locks back within 15mins. It also breaks when we comb. I can't keep shaving her hair. I hope she will not be bullied when she starts school? Your son might have autism spectrum disorders. I hope am wrong tho. AUTISM has a lot of symptoms and a child not TALKING is a major symptom. Read about the disorder online and also take the child to a pediatrician. I mean a specialist cos most of these pediatricians know little about it. ( I wrote my masters research project on autism so I know the awareness is low in Nigeria)
It could also be that your child only has speech disorder

This murder/suicide issue ehn. . .for once, I'd rather they did the suicide first. You wanna go, go that's your prerogative but don't take other people with you, especially kids. I'm sorry this might sound cold but I have no pity for her. How many people have been left for other people, if they all took a dive off a window after killing their children there won't be anyone left in the world.
Yes obviously mentally disturbed but why won't she? Heavily pregnant with a 11months old baby and 2toddlers. I can imagine the stress she is going through and no partner to support her. Stress can lead to deppression and then to suicide.
The useless man didn't run to another woman until he impregnated her 4times within 4years

Its can stay for 24hrs if refrigerated but with steady power supply. It can stay in the freezer for 7days but if u are freezing it u must not return it to the freezer after its defrost, u must discard it.
However you are the mother, when ur instinct tells you its not fresh enough, discard it. I discarded lots of expressed milk cos I had abundant supply(its a milk factory my hubby bought for his daughter)

Can't u figure out that the post on that formal thread is an incomplete story?I think the OP is either not well lettered or she doesn't knw how to use the computer.
Infact I feel this is the concluding part of the story she started then
baby_123:

I dont understand the OP at all. There she praised herself for not jumping from one man to the other, and staying in her one room apartment. Where she only goes from her shop to her one room after her husband threw her out. Where she is bringing this second husband from now, is funny. Though she hinted at being remarried. I thought it was a typo. Being that she praised her goodness, and also talked about her being alone and trying to move on to a decent life. I dont think OP is aware of herself. Either that, or she is a very bad story teller.

Abidec or most multivitamin won't make her eat, it will only supplement on those vitamins she is not gaining.
Give her bcomplex in addition with that multivitamin and you should also see her doctor. She might have an infection.

julicoka: pls i need ur advice,am doing EBF without water,my baby wil be five months on 27th of dis months, looking at her she is getting more slim, her skinny is disturbing me so much,i dot know if i should start giving her water ad baby food,ad i dot know if there is somting disturbing her or is her stature.last time i visited dr he said there is nothing with her,pls great mum in d house help me with ur advices thanks
You have nothing to worry about if her doctor says she is fine. I had same problem with my baby I did EBF too and she was plumpy till abt 5months but was not gaining weight after then. She also refused to eat anything but breastmilk. I was very worried I took her to the doctor and even to the dietician. I stoped breastfeeding 1yr nd 1month and she eats very well and has even improved in weight just 2months after we stopped. You need to see her munch on potatoes nd fried egg.
There are a lot of health benefits to EBF and u shouldn't worry abt her weight if she is healthy. My baby never had diarhoea or vomitted(tho it might be cos of rotavirus vaccine)
You can start introducing solid when she turns 5months but breastfeeding should still be the main course.
Its very normal to worry but don't worry she will be fine and don't give in to pressure from family members

Family / Re: FOR MOTHERS.. How Did You Get Your Child To Stop B.reas.t Feeding? by deybowlah: 1:15pm On Feb 23, 2013
hI just stopped my girl 5days ago after exactly 13months of bossom feeding. This was how it went.
She didnt want to take solid and even if she does she takes just little. She sucks over 4times at night esp early mornings. Everybody was complaining i stop her but i didnt have the liver
The day she turned 13months i made up my mind this has to stop. I gave her 2.5mls instead of 5mls indicated on the sleeping syrup. It lasted her till 3.30am then she started crying. I backed her till she slept on nd off till morning. I got her busy during the day. The second nite we repeated the same vigil. I didnt give her sleeping syrup the 2nd nite. It was just the 1st nite.
She is so intelligent she knew i didnt want to give her bossom milk. You need to see the look of betrayal on her face the next morning. Ifelt bad and shed tears. She made up her mind to move on and she is now feeding very well.
The main gist of this my long story is you have to make up your mind i knw its not easy. You will feel sorry for him but he has to grow up.

Remember I said all may be well?Buh there is nothing like Breastt milk,it changes in composition according to the age of the infant however,it may not be enough as the only source of nutrients and quantity perhaps you are not lactating well enough.Always rehydrate your self (drink plenty water minutes before and after breastfeeding session).

My advice, your baby still need milk at that age and if you are not lactating enough, you can use infant formula as advised by your Dietician.

Health care providers are not allowed to mention d name of Infant formula of choice according to WHO code of ethics. You will be given names of good infant formulas in the market and you will be allowed to make your choice.I mentioned Friso infant formula because we are anonymous on Nairaland. If your baby tolerate NAN2 fine but I have great experience with Friso gold1 and I'm passionate about it.

NB. Yes,continue with your complementary feeding,Cerelac or Friso Gold rice or Wheat while breastt feeding or supplementing with IF.

Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you for your prompt response. I will rehydrate well and also try supplement with formular. Its just so difficult getting her to take it.I will try the frisogold with her.
I will let you know how it goes. Have a splendid weekend

Thanks very much. We will visit her pediatrician on Monday and I will let you know the outcome
We have visited the pediatrician and he said my baby's weight is not too bad and I should continue with the wellkid. He also refereed us to the dietician.
The dietician's suggested I go back to feeding her cerelac, she said her milk intake is low and I should get her NAN2 and my bossom milk is not really of help to her at this stage(10months). I am rather not pleased with her suggestion. Does she mean formular is better than bossom milk? My baby is even refusing to
take the formula

Sorry,I have been busy.

You need to be concerned and I applaud you as a mother.I concur with the quote above (below your comments) but I disagree with her second paragraph.

See your pediatrician, there is need for examination and there are questions you will need to answer. You might even be surprised all is well.

That's the ethical thing to do but I will be glad to hear your feedback.

And who says she can't be satisfied wth adult food,if u giv her amala and ewedu(with crayfish, iru and titus)isn't that a balanced meal,or u give her rice/noodles and egg yoke, then u top it off with sma progress milk or any oda infant milk formular(at least that has all d essential nutrients a growing baby needs),ther r also oda healthy foods u can giv her, abeg giv my baby the food she wants o,my cuzin was also lik that, she cudnt stand all dem cereals and oyibo food, but once u giv her amala or noodles wth ewedu or mashed potatoes and butter,d girl go just rush am,and she turned out ok

@Helix. I need your advice. My baby is 10months old and she is 7.6kg. Is that not underweight for her age? Her weight was very good before infact she was almost 7kg at 6months when she was exclusively breastfed but she hasn't gained much since then. She doesn't like to eat except bossommilk. She is too playful so she can't concentrate while feeding. She hates all infant cereals(I have tried over 6types) she prefers adult food but she can't eat and be satisfied with that.
Its very frustrating. I give her wellkid multivitamin by vitabiotics and also little pediasure and conplan so she can get some nutrient.
What can be wrong with her? Since she was once gaining weight. I don't want to take her to the pediatrician cos they always abuse we first-time mum.
NB she is a very active baby tho and she is learning so fast for her age . s

Another lovely recipe. I noticed my infant likes chicken pie( those stuffs inside) so I decided to make mine.
Wash and dice carrot, potato, tomato and green peas in a pot, add chopped chicken or fish and steam in low heat until very tender, add little butter or olive oil. Mash with fork.
I hope you all will try it out.

sugar 001: Hey cute mommies! Please is it okay to give my lo semolina?
Yes it is very ok to give semolina if he/she likes it. You can either give with ewedu/okro /ogbono or u mix watery semolina with infant formula and spoonfed. My baby luvs semo amala eko with any draw soup a lot those are the only major foods she accepts apart from bosom milk.
I add fresh fish and titus fish(she sometimes get tired of titus fish). I add locus beans to the éwedu and blend 2geda.
That little thing is a real picky eater but she sabi better thing. She hates commercial infant cereals with a passion.
