abdulwastecx:
The one in your building looks like a serviceability crack and not structural Crack, it may be due to harmattan or some environment conditions of shrinkage etc.

The Crack in that school is more dangerous and may be as a result of earth movement
Hmmmmmm, nighttime temperature drops as low as 9° During hamattan. For earthmovements, I am not sure. But we do know that here, after any heavy downpour, walls remain soaked as much as five days, from window level down.

Since you said it's not just your building... I hope there is no un-noticed earthquake or earth movement for a small period in that area.

baba, nothing as such.
this was noticed immediately after the raininy season. and this new building is barely a year. I personally supervised it 100% with the aid of a very experienced mason and trusted architect friend. but its beyond mine, over 60% of buildings here share similar cracks.

the last image is of a nearby school with cracks splitting it into two.
I want to emphasis its a MINOR CRACKS that even a pin can't pass through in almost all the sited buildings.

Properties(photos)rampant Structural Window Cracks! Why? by dgitrader(op):
Greetings to my property experts, owners and enthusiasts!

I discovered crack in a window frame, I was furious, went round the newly built bungalow, and found another same type in the opposite end of the building. I became extra mad! I summoned the mason and architect. but before they arrived days later, I was shocked to discover same cracks in many houses, shops and schools in the same neighborhood. in fact 65%, both new and old bungalows. the area is in jos, and hard clay soils throughout. even a school managed by expertiates nearby, had its crack from window to floor to window in opposite ends!

WHAT ARE THE LIKELY CAUSES?
and there any future consequences and corrective adjustments?

Don't know the name. Produces a cucumber like fruit. Also used as sponge. It should be of melon family.
best description so far!

farmtech, anything special about this "parasitic weed"?

Luffa – the common name is also luffa, sometimes spelled loofah (when fully ripened, two species of this fibrous fruit are the source of the loofah scrubbing sponge)

Does not apply to a Nigerian used engine.

The odds that you will geat an engine in pristine conditions are slim when it comes to Nigerian used engines.

most tokumbor engines are from stripped/accidented cars and some still not had their timing belts replaced.
I admire your great insights.
please does this apply also to our local accidented/striped cars? the cost difference is about 40k from tokunbo engine here.

I may need to replace a 2004 accord engine that smokes(only above 4rpm)and shorts oil although its very fine under 110kmh limits and never with A.C.

Car TalkRe: Engine Overhauling Center In Nigeria??? by dgitrader(m): 7:14am On Dec 15, 2015
MPVGoddess:
To me ooo, the cost of overhauling an engine is not almost 70% the cost of tokunbo engine, depending on the heavy parts that may need to be brought in from overseas via courier or shipping agents, the cost is usually several times the cost of tokunbo engines.

But honest to goodness with that sort of experience, i would love to have your contacts because who knows, maybe you are the kind of guy with the sort of experience I have been looking for, am sending you a PM
you want to do what? I can't even do oil change myself. thanks

I'm an engineering student about to graduate. I did some work on aircraft engines both piston and jet engines. Both engine can be overhauled. Especially piston engines. I saw an overhauling center. Although the center was closed due to most aircraft uses jet engines now. Just light trainer aircraft that uses piston engines and some military aircraft. I was made to understand that a piston engine can be overhauled and restored to near company standard or even company standard. I was thinking of having a center like that where i can overhaul car engines instead of buying new or second hand engines. @siena, @Ikenna351, @ seu.n
nice concept, best for tractors and bigger trucks. but I won't overhaul any car engine for two reasons in Nigeria
1. 99.9 % fake autoparts in open markets.
2. even if original parts available, the cost is almost 70% of tokunbo engine(most cars) with lesser risk.

Thank you for your attention. Pardon my excesses too on your thread. I'm a farmer with a difference. I practice whatever I preach ONLY. Giving you lofty statistics/data isn't my aim but giving you something VALID, Workable and that solves your immediate irrigation need.

It is way cheaper than drip irrigation because the price for drip irrigation set up for one acre of farmland will buy you rainguns and other accessories that will enable you irrigate 4-5 acres. Those accessories I refer here will include about 300metres of high pressure hose like that which you have and a water pump of higher Horse power to match and deliver even more volumes of water than the required amount of RAIN WATER needed by your plant.

For starters like you, you will be saved of troubles of financing permanent irrigation structures that will amount to waste as your needs begin to increase due to FARM EXPANSIONS IN FUTURE.

This one is apt, mobile, detachable and flexible. This is because A single unit can be deployed for use in multiple farm location.

Your high pressure hose will not be prone to damage by rodents, or subjected to wear and tear due to exposure to hot sun.

Im working very hard on breaking the logistics challenges that makes my landing cost high. This rain gun is what you need as a meaningful and COST SAVING STRATEGY to irrigate your farm

08050323434 is number. I have increased my dry season acreage from 2 to 6 as a result of the effectiveness of the raingun.
interesting.
what are you cultivating on the 6 acres?
and what's your typical watering routing with this raingun? I mean the procedure for watering you plants on a typical day.

@saliubello
^^this info will be much appreciated to have a fair idea of the labour requirement! especially for moving pipes, hose, or machines and rainguns from points to points if needed.
AgricultureRe: My Little Irish Potato Farm Project by dgitrader(m): 5:59pm On Dec 13, 2015
saliubello:
I must commend your efforts in feeding the Nation. Your productivity can be increased greatly by buying a rain gun sprinkler. All the items you have already ( pump and hose) will still give you low productivity because a lot is efforts will be needed to make the water go round.

With a rain gun attached to the other end of your water pump, You can wet 32m diameter in circular form. After this you proceed with other areas.

Contact me privately and I will give you a rain gun at a discounted price and you can come and report back to the house of your fabulous experience with the rain gun.

This I want replicated in all farms.
nice concept saliu, but how cost effective is a raingun,in comparison with drip irrigation.?
also with a 32m diameter, how many will effectively cover an acre of leafy vegetables?

what is your source of water?
and how did you acquire your potatoes sidlings?
most farmers in jos are doing dry season vegetables now, what's the incentive for potato now?

Farmer Urges Delta Govt To Encourage Fish Export
BY OLAWAX · DECEMBER 10, 2015
source.. http://agrobusinessng.com/farmer-urges-delta-govt-to-encourage-fish-export/

Mr. Fischer Ogwugwu, the President, Ufuoma United Fish Farmers Association in Delta, has appealed to the state government to create a conducive environment that will enable the association to export fish.

Ogwugwu made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Asaba on Sunday.

He said that the major challenge facing the association was the inability to process fish for export.

According to him, the association, which has more than 1,000 members, has the largest cat fish farm in West Africa.

and which is based Ekpan, Uwvie Local Government Area of the state,

He said that the farm, based in Ekpan, in Uwvie Local Government Area of the state, produced more than 10 tons of fish on a daily basis all year round.
Fish
“We need support from government, banks, willing partners, and even non-governmental organisations to enable us to break into the international market.

“We produce so much fish, but we don’t have buyers; if we can process and package the fish and export, every member of the association will be better off.

“The local market women have taken advantage of the excess supply to the extent that they determine the prices.

“So, we want to break into the international market to earn foreign exchange and expand our businesses.”

Ogwugwu stated that the fish farm has proven to be a sound investment as some micro-finance banks in the state can attest to.

The president, therefore, assured prospective investors/partners of the viability of the business and the safety of their investments.

He said that more youths would be attracted to the business if the fish value chain could be established. (NAN)

Will you shut your stinky mouth you idio.tic igala buffalo! Do you know what 'Igala' means in Yoruba? Animal! Bush Meat! That deserves nothing except a hunter's bullet.

All the OP wrote there is NOTHING but the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. I have over one thousand and one connections in KSU and I can authoritatively affirm his points.

Have you barbaric miscreants not unleash your your wickedness on the likes of professor Adamo? Do you want me to mention names?

Do you know the same ethno-centric hooligalism of the Igala race has caused many deaths in 'ordinary' Kogi State Polytechnic? Do you want me to give names of Ebira students that have lost their lives thus far, because of SUG positions?

You barbaric 'idolistic' buffalos won't cease to amaze one!

The Igalas in Kabba detest their hosts. They hate everything about the Okun race, they will never attend a Church whose Pastor is Yoruba. You only see them in their fraudulent Churches (I won't mention names). I have singlehandedly written a freelance report about Lord's Chosen and I know how your folks almost ruin that Church in Kogi state because of y'all ethno-centric tendencies and love of money. YES, your people ruined the Lord's Chosen treasury. You always want to associate with the Igbos despite the obvious and apparent facial differences. Ibo man no dey get OYO tribal mark.

We know you people too well; we know the incredible nature of your genetic greediness. Audu's death is a firm warning to y'all. Power belongs only to GOD, not some power drunk animals.

You have 9 LGAs out of 21, yet you won't stop disturbing the internet with your majority-minority rumble formula.

Lastly, stop drawing sympathy from Biafra. You can never be Igbo. Have you ever seen a Biafran man with 8 tiger marks on the face? You're simply a forgotten minority in the Nigerian business.

1 plot of land fenced with wire fence
A room apartment for herdsman

6 cattle for startup

Anyone interested in setting up something like this can contact me for details..........
Nice work GGfadar. I follow you keenly.
1.What are the technical and economic differences between this your new one plot ranch and the one hectare ranch u always advocated.

2.Also, how do u deal with security threats from well armed catle rustlers who recently operate in urban environments.
3.Can three PLOTS of 50*100 land be sufficient for a new herder? Bearing in mind turkey and rams to be added.
4.Is there any threat rearing rabbits near cattles and rams.
5.Using wire fence as shown, how do u deal with snakes and deadly rodents?

I will personally contact you, just want you to respond openly here so that many others can continually learn and be inspired too.
