Hochschule and Fachochschule re same but university is entirely different.

Example Hochschule/Fachhochschule offer Bachelor of Engineering and University offer Bachelor of Science as degree.

@bandeco, well well, i have read through your analysis, and i see you dont understand the reason why Germany is still a top choice for some. Most of your projections lack any form of comparative analysis and no basis at all beyond some ethereal projections, perhaps based on the resource you have at your own disposal.
People are struggling to raise 8,000 euros for blocked account. (Note, this money is meant for their feeding, housing, clothing, etc) and not for the government of Germany. You enjoy free tuition and a little amount for semester amount which covers your cost of transportation, then your best advice to get these people out of their problem is to take this 8k,look for possibly another 2-4k and use it for a one year tuition fee in Sweden. Then if they even manage to make it to Sweden after paying the tuition, what will they feed on, Grass? and will they live on trees or in igloos? Sweden is more suitable for EU/EEA citizens.
Your willingness to help is welcome but common.........
who told you the Swedish embassy dont reject students too? and who told you we don't have SSN?
Now, to the cost of living, the cost of living is way higher than in Germany, this is Scandanavia. the 8k we manage for a year will disappear like its a magic act. I agree they speak very good English, however, try applying in many places for jobs and you will understand that all scripts are in Swedish. Its is not fair to mislead already struggling people with fictitious projections. I think the current situation constitutes enough worries already.
Make good comparative analysis and people will consider your opinion.

Ur dollar dom account is not Euro dom account so u cant use it to make transfer for ur db payment. Maybe u shld contact ur bank to advice u better. But if I may suggest u might av to convert ur dollar dom acct to Euro dom account to enable u transfer euro to ur db account and dis might entail u selling ur dollar for Euro. Just contact ur bank to give u more info.

I just confirmed my admission 4 masters in intl business & mgt. (Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences). No Uniassist stress nor sending of docs + Nipost/DHL wahala anyways, scanned all and sent, luckily enough was offered a position. Waiting for the hard copy to hit 9ja dis wk. But I have a dilemma. I currently have admissions for Masters in Luxembourg and Canada as well. That of Lux is €200 per session while that of Canada is $3-4k per year. Now, dis German admission is tuition free. Considering
1. the ease of visa processing & higher rate of securing Visa,
2. better integration into the system
3. Standard of education
4. Better welfare after grad as omo Naija

Which will the house advice me to follow?

BTW, Econs in Lux, while Rural dev in Canada. All taught in English language.

I most say am a little bit surprised that even people in Germany are trying to discourage people from taking short term risk.... nothing good comes easy. I will prefer working in a country where most of my salaries go to taxes that i actively benefit from and i know i have a very bright career that I can buzz into any developed country again and make it. Nothing good comes easy. What should guys that spend millions on school in USA Canada even UK that will send u away after education say. Go to USA student page here on NL and see how people working for big companies resign just to have to study in America and have a better life.
What happened to finishing masters and working to gain experience and buzz to Canada via PR parole. What happened to enrolling in the States for a fully funded PhD position. It's all about risk sirs and mas. Its all about what you plan for yourself and what you believe passionately in. You are a product of what you think.
Why will i give up having a world class education at relatively cheap rate and opportunity to explore the world and meet great minds just because.
As much as we will love to hear the - ve and +ve give us vital information that has kept you going despite all odd. At the end it all boils down to the level of information that is available to one.

Haba! Did someone tell you that as a student in Germany you will make mega money? You a house owner with something tangible to do want to sell your home to chase German dream? You want to do menial jobs as most, if not almost all of us students do to survive this place? Menial jobs that will mostly go to paying rent, insurance, semester fees, TV licence fees and all the other bills that get in constantly into our letter boxes. If not for the mixtures of cold and warmth we get this days most of the time this country is really cold. Can you go out at -10°c in the night for a night shift job while waiting in the freezing cold for connecting bus or train to take you home? Think very well and remember your visa restricts you from working all the time.
The other day I was just gisting with my friend that in Nigeria if you have your own home the only thing you need to think about is to feed. Here its a totally different story.
I am against anyone borrowing to come here but in your case I would say its safer for you to borrow and put down your house as collateral than sell it outright. How you will pay back when you get here that I cannot guarantee.

About the renewal, It's not compulsory to my understanding one must have 8k in his/her block account for the next renewal, a job contract might be sufficient depending on the official you meet there and am a witness to this.(Am relating this to my city/state HH)

Lastly, as a rule, i learnt some years back, i usually avoid going to Auslaenderbehoerde on Mondays,it's like Weekend enjoyment still dey shak them.

Note that most alien offices in Niedersachsen and even Bavaria are not flexible about this policies, it's 8k euros every year or nothing, they do not accept jobs contracts for renewals. He can only confirm this from someone in his city or not just mere assumptions based on what is obtainable somewhere else, even in a neighbouring city.
