This vicious circle is mainly caused by government monetary and fiscal policies, political like war,coup d etat and other factors I cannot think of now!!!

If I was sacked by Union Bank based on this, I would sue them because they would have to prove to me I was the account officer of the facility that did not monitor the account continuously, and that I was also the credit officer who did not perform due diligence, I would also be the bank manager of that branch where the financing contract was signed and authorise (if it were within my authorisation limit) and wait!!!. I would also be the regional manager who must approve such loan and the executive directors who would also know about the loan and the CEO who raises non performing loan at board meetings and discuss on strategies to adopt in recovering the loan with the risk management team.

Even the risk management should be sacked since they could not determine the credit worthiness of the applicant and if the said facility risk appetite would be favorable to the bank in the long run

Considering the ruptured economy we have today and most state governors claiming they can't pay workers the same minimum wage despite the federal allocation they get and internally generated revenue, I believe it is something BMB should beat his chest about!!!.

Thank God he didn't say he was being witch-hunted! He suddenly forgot that the indebtedness of irresponsible borrowers like him made Union Bank to sack more than 1000 workers greater number than the number of people he claims he is employing,as if the jobs of his workers is more important than that of people who got fired by union bank because of the mess he caused.
Thank God we are not in GEJ 's era, AMCON would never have gotten shishi from this cunning fox. Since last Friday that the court ruled on the AMCON takeover, he waited till almost a week before acting thereby disrupting the business of his tenants in Galleria. He should get ready to be sued and pay compensation to his tenants who pay a lot as rent and service charges. His irresponsible attitude cause them to lose money and business,imagine those eateries in the galleria and how most of their food would have been spoilt.

But how can you label BMB an irresponsible borrower? Do you really understand how loan financing work?
Don't you know that inflation and other economic factors would have affected the projection for the loan in the unforseeable future? In the event of a default, isn't it the bank's duty to inform it's debtor? Use moral suasion, debt factors or their risk/credit management team? After the 90 days prudential guidelines limit has been stretched, won't the bank define the loan as a non performing loan?
After moral suasion and threat of legal actions, isn't it the duty of the loan officers/bank to enforce whatever lien is on the contract?
Tell me if you were the CEO, won't you be intimidated by the personality of BMB?
Or you have never done business in your life before?
Do you even know that Non performing loans are insured by banks in the event of unforeseeable circumstances?
