I told him no like its bloody lunch time who gets wasted at lunch

After he said that i felt insulted just killed the mood , but didnt say anything just told him i have to go and would call him later.

Antoinne you are absolutely right it is unfathomable and flat out ludicrous. The reason why you get so much hormonal retorts for speaking the truth is because this site "nairaland'' is populated by a certain demographic of 'youthful’ Nigerians who have very limited and (i am afraid) rather crude outlook to life. Logic and reason are not very common themes down here. Most are youths out of school seeking jobs, you wouldn’t find sound wisdom here, just the really rough and raw bunch.

There is even a more dire case of this 'food theft syndrome" (FTS) in the corporate world. I am talking fortune 500 status multinational companies here in Nigeria. These guys drive in the latest SUVS using high tech smart gadgets and all, but still get tragically obsessed with packing out remnants of meeting meals.

I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME UNDERSTAND THIS FCKN DISEASE!!! Is it greed or what?

These guys all earn six digit monthly salaries but always feel compelled to hang around the corridor, lurking and checking to see if the management meeting has ended so that they can briskly grasp onto the unwrapped moin-moin, rice, sweets , slap them all in a bag and take home.

It shouldn't be the first management meeting and they ought to know how many people are in the meeting or may attend, those that are not prone to eat much and those managers that may request more. Dear Nairalanders,

It is with a heavy heart full of worries and grief I write this. Posting this wasn’t my idea till an active nairalander who happened to be my friend suggested I explain my plight to well meaning Nigerians on how to go about seeking redress or what next to do with my shattered life because right now, I am so sad, bewildered, conked out and sorrowful. Today, I have contemplated suicide but I am not the kinda person that gives up so easily so I am willing to fight this through even with the last drop of my blood.

Till Friday 26th of June, 2015, I work for the above named bank in Nigeria. I joined them last year, went to training school and consequently became a full staff. I was confirmed specifically in the first quarter of this year as a full staff. Prior to confirmation, I have never fallen below 95percent. As a matter of fact because of my experience and wits, I was made the branch manager of the branch where I was posted immediately after training school. Since then, I have been undertaking series of professional examination related to my job ranging from ICAN to CIBN and I have always been scoring above 95percent as regards HR appraisal since I joined the bank.

However, I got to work today, logged into the system like I do every other day only to see the greatest shocker of my life. I was surprisingly denied access and consequently instructed to call the IT control department. My initial guess was that I have possibly been transferred to another branch. The IT department said I should contact the HR that I have been suspended.

I started sweating profusely inspite of the cabinet AC directly opposite my desk but I never had a clue till I got an email from HR almost immediately saying my appointment has been terminated.For crying out loud I had 95percent in HR appraisal just last month, I have just been confirmed in May, what have I done wrong? Where do I start from here? What do I do? Series of thoughts started flowing into my mind in thousands I started feeling feverish immediately. I am so blank right now. I need advice, I feel demoralized, dejected, rejected, and I feel so cheated.

I have very cool relationship with my bosses and i cant think of stepping on anyone's toe at the moment. This sudden occurence has defied all reasonable logic and i dont know what else to thing about......I will hang on as i await your replies. Thank you alot.

The idea behind monuments for these despots( Stalin and Mao Zedong cos you're stuck on both) is based on their laudable achievement in their various countries at that time devoid of belligerent external policies!. The Germans were defeated by the Soviets (why they were given East Germany after the war!)during the war under Stalin's leadership and he carried out genuine reforms during his regime. (NOTE that USSR and China were both Socialist and Communist states during their reign!).Note that Stalin's monuments in his hometown of Georgia has been pulled down!!!. Mao Zedong is a nationalist, he fought against the Japanese to liberate China from their control!. He is still partly honoured in China probably because of this and other reforms he undertook AND because China is still "party- Communist" (or should i state totalitarian? )in nature!!.

I have met a Non-Nigerian who collected my meal (He took permission though and I obliged him out of shock!!!) and ate it!!!. I have even met countless non-Nigerians exchange seat with me when they are(I guess) unfortunate to book window seat online or get window seat( and someone said it is Nigerian thing a couple of threads ago!!

In retrospect, perhaps the so-called non-Nigerians were naturalized Nigerians? Since we are programmed to think it is only Nigerians that can pull such stunts!!
