Its mainly borne out of jealousy and competition. Remember these two being the largest southern tribes had a head start in western education.... Rivalry between yorubas started during colonial times when the likes of Zik and Awo and their mates across africa were schooling in London.

Yorubas sometimes want alliance with igbos but igbos always prefer aligning with the north..... just to spite yorubas...

My advice Non yorubas and non igbos shouldnt get themselves involved in the rivalry.
The both tribes have been on it for long and it wont stop amytime soon. Non yorubas wont know how it feels to have igbos always making attempts to take over the politics of yorubaland....even Zik wanted to be premier of western region when Lagos was FCT and not even part of western region. Geoffrey onyemas father as well as the likes of Jaja nwachukwu have called Lagos no mans land in the past......

Let me enlightened you then. If the judiciary will be impartial, there are so many grounds on which the first election can be annulled.
1. INEC breaking or going against its own guidelines. It's is clearly written there that anything contrary, the election is void.
2. Gross irregularities in the results compiled and announced by INEC
3. Evidence of voter intimidation in various areas across the country.


In short. Just humber one is enough reason according to the law. I don't even know if you have read it.

At the Presidential election tribunal you have just 2 things to prove.
1. Substantial non compliance with electoral laws
2. If the irregualrities is enough reason for cancellation of an election.

Substantial non compliance recognizes there has to be flaws in elections but are the flaws enough reason to cancel the election.
Proving non compliance is a Herculean task. LP cant prove that because they dont even have agents in about a third of polling units(note i said agents not supporters and INEC recognise agents because their names are sent ahead befor elections)
If after proving non complaince you have to show that irregularities is so huge as to affect the outcome.
