A plate of food that sold for 800 previously now sells for 1,500 to 2,000. If you eat breakfast and dinner, that's between 3,000-4,000 gone on meals daily.

Unless you're a married man whose wife packs his breakfast for him.

Frustration, rashness and desperation is often at the forefront of the emotions of oppressed people -physical and psychological oppression.


Such a society is a paradise for crime, drug abuse, prostitution and emotional imbalances...

These has resulted in the unfortunate love for vices in the affected environments.

The problem with this your assessment is that there have always been prostitutes since the beginning of Nigeria. So you can't say it is because of hardship that girls are into hookups.

Simply put, the barriers to sex work have been removed. There's mobile dating/hookup apps, mobile transport apps, Airbnb and mobile money. These have all eliminated the friction in booking sexual experiences- it is easier for a female student today to meet clients who want hookups than in the past.

That's what's driving the rise.

Whew. I guess I should have watched it. With mob killings a daily occurrence in Nigeria I simply assumed that this was yet another one, and on that premise decided not to watch the video clip.
