PoliticsPDP NEW SLOGAN: Change The Change!!!! by dimieprincess(op): 5:48pm On May 21, 2016
I just heard it from the National Convention, Port Harcourt. Instead of their normal power to the people, in response to their acronym PDP, the crowd was shouting "change the change".
Another change mantra again, we won't fall for this deceit this time around because we can't be fooled by another change just as APC did. We must ask the kind of change this time around.

SAS will still be elected chairman
God forbid, if they want to let them do it in a free and fair election. It shouldn't be a sole candidate

No sane person can argue this point but because our kind of politics has been so monetized that its return is even more than drug biz, money rituals or even most large scale businesses, greed, selfish interest and elephantine ego won't let people see road.

Everyone is battlling for the soul of the party....

If this in fighting were to be in the interest of the people, everyone would applaud them but not at all, it's all for self aggrandizement.....

Fayose, anywhere he goes problems follow!! One thing is sure, Ali Sheriff won't find it funny with them, after his investment, nothing for him...
SAS is not someone that should be mentioned in the first place, if they had withdrawn their support for him, u would've seen mass exodus from the Party. Thank God they were sensible enough to withdraw his candidature

That's true. PDP has that issue.
If they can shelve their ego as Atiku did to work for Buhari it will take them to the up, but with this spirit of everyone wants to be chairman from Gulak, to Okupe, to Bode George, to Jerry Gana to Fayose. hissssssssss.

Is because of mentalities like yours. I voted for APC in Presidency, Reps, governor (Ambode) and pdp in house of assembly and senate. i am not like u who vote base on party. I am too educated to be celebrating people who are failures. I campaigned for Buhari but what is d outcome today? increment of both goods and services. Shehu Sani is politically naive. he is fighting a battle he will never win. It's obvious he has his eyes on the guber race for 2019. As it stands today, El-rufai is the next most popular figure in the north after Buhari, so fighting El-rufai unnecessarily is stupid, especially in his own state. If Shehu Sani is not careful, he will not even be able to win the senate primaries in 2019.
What was d fate of Amaechi in d south south after he abused Jonathan and everybody in the south south? he became and remain valueless as far south south politics is concern, yet u guys termed in Lion of Ubima or Niger Delta. se ti gbo?

PoliticsGovt ‘making Political Capital’ Out Of Chibok Girl Release— HRW, Campaigners by dimieprincess(op): 11:23am On May 21, 2016
Nigeria's government was on Friday accused of exploiting the release of a
Chibok schoolgirl who was found this week, more than two years after she
was seized by Boko Haram.
Amina Ali was found by troops and civilian vigilantes with a four-month-
old baby and a man she said was her husband near the Islamists'
Sambisa Forest enclave in northeast Nigeria on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old and her mother were brought to the capital, Abuja, on
Thursday to meet President Muhammadu Buhari, who said she had
received five hours of medical tests and seen trauma counsellors.
Buhari took office on May 29 last year vowing a swift end to the
insurgency, which has killed at least 20,000 people since 2009.
But Mausi Segun, Nigeria researcher for Human Rights Watch, said
Amina's first days of freedom should have concentrated on her mental
and physical health, as well as that of her daughter.
The government should have protected and respected her dignity "before
you roll the cameras and make political capital out of her recovery", she
told AFP.
Tsambido Hosea Abana, leader of the Chibok community in Abuja, on
Thursday accused the federal and Borno state government of "treating
Amina like an item".
"She is a traumatised young woman who needs immediate care and not
any further media circus," he said in a statement.
Boko Haram kidnapped 276 girls from their school in the remote Borno
town of Chibok on April 14, 2014. Fifty-seven escaped in the hours that
followed but 219 remained in captivity until this week.
Thousands of women and young girls have been abducted since the
conflict began in 2009, Former hostages have said they were forced into
sex and menial work and even made to fight on the front line.
Buhari promised Amina "the best care the Nigerian government can
afford".
But Nigeria has been urged to do more to provide appropriate facilities
and services for all former hostages, particularly for victims of sexual
violence.
Rescued women and girls have faced stigma when they return to their
home communities as a result of their captivity.

VillageParrot:
Barring any last minute changes, Nigeria’s leading opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to cancel its national convention scheduled to hold this weekend in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and set up a Caretaker Committee to resolve grievances and unite the party, SIGNAL can report.

A top party official who spoke to SIGNAL from Port-Harcourt on Saturday disclosed the details.

According to the source who did not want to be named, “As I am speaking to you now, top level meetings are going on and top on the agenda of the meetings is the cancellation of the convention to pave way for a Caretaker Committee that will unite the party.”

The source said some party bigwigs were concerned about sacrificing the future of the party on the altar of the ambition of Ali-Modu Sheriff and his supporters.

In as much as you have every right to decide what you choose to (and not to) accept, you still are not arguing based on fact. What was the last official population estimate of PH? If it was undercounted, why? By whom? What is the Rivers state govt's own alternative data? According to the latest data on the number of registered phone lines and internet connection ( https://www.nairaland.com/3114368/nigerian-states-number-registered-phone ), Oyo state as at today (if that data is anything to go by) has approximately 2-million more inhabitants than Rivers state. Show me some data to support your assertions, please. Not guess work.

It is normal to hate. What's the total population of Oyo state and River state before we move further?
look at the whole population for the two states.
Oyo State . 5,591,589. Rivers State. 5,185,400
as at 2006.
Oyo population is relatively spread across Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomosho and what have you.
On the other hand, Rivers state population is concentrated in PH. PH has over 70% of the population of the state. So answer me how Ibadan as a town is more populated than PH.

Abuja
PH

Jos

pls correct yourself, Abuja can never be populated than PH. Only Obio/Akpor will be in a battle with Abuja metropolis let alone Rivers state. Abuja has the smallest population in Nigeria from the census. Rivers population is 70%concentrated in Port Harcourt.

answer these questions

1. Have you been to okene?

2. Do you think okene is more populated than akure, owerri, calabar and warri?

3. Have you been to onitsha?

4. Do you believe ogbomoso is more populated than Jos, enugu and onitsha?

We need to be truthful to ourselves.
Ogbeni eseun o, live the man let him keep hallucinating. It is not just foolish to assert that Abuja is more populated than PH or Okene is in per with Warri. What is in that Okene self, what is the total population of Igbira generally that Okene will have 900, 000. Is it that some person can't think outside the box of tribalism and favouritism?
