Based on the promptings of the ex-leaders, Sheriff reached out to
Makarfi, one of aides to the hitherto embattled leaders said .
A meeting was held between the two factional leaders Tuesday in
Abuja and they resolved to constitute a committee of all
stakeholders to ensure a broader reconciliation within the party,
Newsdiaryonline was told.

It was after their meeting that Senator Ben Obi announced that the Sheriff and Makarfi factions have agreed to issue a joint
statement
Obi who was flanked by Dr. Cairo Ojuigho of the Sheriff faction said “We have decided to issue a joint statement. As we speak
today, the PDP is back as one family.
He said further that “The two leaders will address you gentlemen of the press, will constitute a joint committee with the support
of all relevant organs of the party.”
Newsdiaryonline learnt that IBB, Jonathan and Gusau among others who facilitated the reconciliation effort have a bigger
picture in mind.
The main goal is to unite the party and bring all the aggrieved PDP members including serving governors and ex-governors as
well as lawmakers who left the party because of past grievances. The target appears to be 2019.
It was further learnt one of the former leaders who facilitated the reconciliation moves told his colleagues that the best option
to ensure the realization of the bigger picture was to encourage Makarfi and Sheriff to unite. He reasoned that though the law
may appear to favour Sheriff in his claim to PDP national chairmanship, majority of the PDP stakeholders were behind Makarfi
; so the best was forward was to get them to work together in the interest of the party.
When Makarfi and Sheriff met Tuesday, they resolved to purge themselves of any personal interest and work for true
reconciliation and the return of all the aggrieved PDP members including those who had earlier quitted the party.
An insider insisted Tuesday that these meetings help a great deal in smoothening the road to reconciliation within PDP

The issue is - what confers ownership of the bank account? A visa card or the account opening forms and mandate cards?

I've read it. She asked for signatories to be changed, and she was promised that it would be changed but it wasn't. All withdrawals were made using Visa card. The law only recognizes fully attested documents not possibilities
When the bank officials brought the ATM cards for the said accounts of which she is sole signatory, she discovered to her surprise that only one of these accounts bore her personal name while four were in the names of companies not known to her.

“She immediately complained about this anomaly to Hon. Dudafa and the bank officials, Demola Doledeoku and Dipo Oshodi, came back to the Villa with forms to change and convert the said accounts to the personal name of Mrs Jonathan.

“This was her firm request which the bank officials promised to effect immediately and she duly completed account conversion forms and signed the mandate forms as a the sole signatory, but as it would appear, the said bank officials did not change the Account names despite her request"

She needs to convince the court that although she did not sign the account opening form and is not a signatory ( she only has a visa card to make withdrawals) she owns the account. That's her responsibility not the EFCC.

Go and read her letter to Magu about she being the sole signatory to the accounts in question. Believe anything from EFCC at your own peril.

Under the seizure clause in the EFCC Act the EFCC can seize assets that it considers to be fruits of crime. They have taken the people in whose names the accounts were registered to court and collected guilty pleas. Patience is not a party to the suit because NONE of the accounts were in her name. Control of an account through a visa card is not the same as ownership. EFCC has no business with her. If she claims that the money is hers she must show proof of ownership; including how it was earned.

You hold forth against other commentators but have yourself failed to understand the facts of the case or the issues arising.

The burden is on Patience to show that she is the legitimate owner of the funds including providing evidence for the source of funds and taxes paid against such income. No one needs to take her to court It's a simple and clear matter. She should present her documents. Simple.

Please have you read Patience Jonathan claim against Efcc that she is sole signatory to the accounts? I believe her own sincere of the story because truth is alien to EFCC under Buhari.
