But after my preferred candidates from APC all lost to Tinubu, I was sad and frustrated but then Peter Obi became the candidate of Labour party and I happily joined the Obi team. Few days after Obi was made the candidate, he was accepted by the youths who are tired of these old men, I was one of them too. But the Obi movement brought in a anti democratic mob who begin to threaten whoever does not support Obi. From the beginning, he was not my candidate therefore I had few reservation and tried to know more about him before I throw my full support, but then it look like all Obidients has to follow him blindly and few people who criticized him ended up complaining how their lives were threatened. Even my friends who I tried to reason with ended up insulting me, some even insulted my background and education, I begin to wonder if I was the odd person among the Obidients, j listened to Obi talks and it doesnt look like he cares about how the Obidients are busy insulting and threatening everyone. After the WhatsApp message fiasco which Obi had to bring out from an unknown group, I began to lose interest in him for trying to create a bigger conflict in an already tensed up country. I became undecided about the election and lost every zeal to vote in this election, but alas I sluggishly went out to vote and never voted for Obi. when I heard about the low voters turnout, I was sure I wasnt the only one who lost hope in all three candidates You are cursed with foolishness! |

OsunOriginal: Former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, has suggested why it would be difficult for a Christian to become Nigeria’s president. Dokubo said politicians who have promoted religion more are Christians, hence it would be difficult for them to produce Nigeria’s president in the nearest future. Speaking on Facebook live, Dokubo said the President-elect, Bola Tinubu can’t change anything. “Today, it will be very difficult for a Christian to become president of Nigeria because Tinubu cannot change anything – like what he did in Lagos. “Muslim-Muslim ticket has come to stand. There is nothing you can do. “You don’t start a war that you cannot finish. “The people that have promoted religion in everything in Nigeria are Christians,” he said.

Megabig: Is something wrong with this our generation because I saw how my parents had a great marriage just like most of their friends.
I think relationships are not meant for some people and we have to all understand that it’s ok to be single for the rest of your lives. Why put so much pressure to get hooked with someone when you know your mind is probably somewhere else, is it desperation, greed or the insatiable nature of the human life?
So I dropped my ex at the Chinese cuisine (yes I have to be specific because she will read this and should know I wrote it)she works at on Tuesday, this is usually our routine since she starts work at 8am and I start at 9am to end at 5pm,she gets home late at 9pm sometime depending on her shift. On Wednesday,we drove as usual and on getting to her workplace, there were 3 police cars and yellow ribbons crossed over there with some people in front of it.This colleague of hers immediately seeing us trying to park there said “there is no need y’all, some 14 year old came to the store and shoot up the whole place around 5pm yesterday”. I was shocked because she should be at work too and how come she’s not aware of what we both are seeing and she tried shutting the lady up and I then further asked the lady why she also showed up since it happen yesterday and she ought to have known, she said because she’s scheduled to work today just like my babe and she was just looking at my ex,you know when you look at someone like “ hope everything is ok”?
My ex didn’t exit the car and I had to ask her where she was the previous day because I dropped her there at work, she started stammering that she went to see her lawyer,I then had to ask,so after seeing your lawyer at 5pm(which is obviously a lie because corporate mostly close at 5pm),you didn’t return to work because you ought to have known that someone was killed at your job, she then said she went home, then how did I get home before her because I close at 5pm and gets home before 6pm, I didn’t want her to keep blabbing,I immediately called her lawyers office and guess what guys? Her next appointment is June 12(Again,I wrote this so she can see it’s me). I immediately started recording a video with my camera faced down and repeated every question and she answered just in case she goes to court and I’ll nail the devil. I sha took my key from the evil, cashapped her money to take a train to her brothers place.Till today she never reach her bros place because he called and said she’s not picking and she is constantly texting.
This is a girl that got to America two years ago(I didn’t bring her)and just doing menial job for now while she work on getting her documents and also, she’s not paying rent(In todays America),I was even planning on doing something serious before the year runs out because normally, she seem homely, peaceful and seem quite calm unlike most party-prone babes we have around(E be like na this one’s worst).
What shocked me most was that I didn’t even get angry, I was just disappointed that I wasted my time but it didn’t seem like I lost something(why is that?).
Another trust shattered… smh She is not suicidal anything, she's trying to emotionally manipulate you. That's how they roll. For all I care she could even be a lesbian playing on your intelligence. I have long resolved never to trust most Nigerian girls. |

Freestyl: In a shocking incident that has rocked the Nigerian state of Benue, suspected herdsmen have been accused of carrying out a brutal attack on the Umogidi community, leaving at least 46 people dead.
The incident occurred in the Entekpa-Adoka district of Otukpo Local Government Area, just a day after the same village had been attacked, resulting in the deaths of three people who were being prepared for burial.
The Governor-Elect of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has condemned the killings in the strongest possible terms. Speaking from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on April 7, 2023, Fr. Alia described the incident as a heinous act that has left the entire community in shock and despair.
The attack on Umogidi community is the latest in a string of violent incidents that have plagued Benue State in recent years. Tensions have been high between farmers and herdsmen over grazing rights, leading to clashes that have resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.
The Benue State government, led by Governor Samuel Ortom, has been criticized for their handling of the situation, with many accusing them of failing to take decisive action to curb the violence. The Governor-Elect has called for urgent measures to be put in place to protect innocent citizens and prevent further bloodshed.
Fr. Alia has also urged the federal government to take swift action to address the root causes of the conflict between farmers and herdsmen in Benue State. He has called for dialogue and engagement between all stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the problem.
The incident has sparked outrage across Nigeria, with many calling for justice and accountability for the perpetrators of the attack. The international community has also condemned the violence and called on the Nigerian government to take action to protect its citizens and ensure that such incidents do not occur again.
As investigations continue into the attack on Umogidi community, the people of Benue State are left to mourn the loss of their loved ones and wonder when the cycle of violence will finally come to an end.

EmirGold: Wole Soyinka, the Nobel laureate, has challenged Datti Baba-Ahmed, Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) to a live debate on national television. On March 22, in an interview with Channels TV, Datti said the country has no president-elect despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election. The LP vice-presidential candidate said Tinubu would be leading an unconstitutional government if sworn into office because the APC candidate “has not met requirements of the law”. The interview elicited criticism from political stakeholders as well as a N5 million fine for the TV station. Reacting in a chat with Arise TV on Wednesday, Soyinka said the remarks are a “kind of do-or-die attitude and provocation” that goes contrary to democratic disposition. He added that the LP vice-presidential candidate tried to “dictate to the supreme arbiter of the nation”, adding that it was unacceptable. However, Soyinka’s statement has earned him criticism and abuse from the ‘Obidients’, especially on social media platforms. Reacting in a statement on Friday, the Nobel laureate condemned the fine slammed on Channels Television for airing the ‘incisive interview’ with Labour Party vice presidential candidate. Soyinka said he was willing to engage Datti or any nominee of his on the platform “on this very bone of contention – one-on-one – without the malodorous intervention of media trolls, and with the same interviewer as mediator.” He said, “May I cease this opportunity, by the way, to condemn the sanctions imposed on CHANNELS Television which anchored the performance of the LP candidate. As stated, I watched the programme keenly – saw the valiant efforts of the interviewer to ensure fair hearing. I fail to understand just where the station could be faulted, except from a disposition for injustice. “To sustain that penalty is to give joy to others who turn Internet into a soakaway for their rancid emissions, yet feel that others should be silenced. If CHANNELS feels up to it, I offer myself willing to engage Mr. Datti – or any nominee of his - on its platform on this very bone of contention – one-on-one – without the malodorous intervention of media trolls, and with the same interviewer as mediator. That should be taken as a serious offer. “Project NIGERIA, I must confess, has become near terminally soul-searing. Do I still believe in it? I am no longer certain but - first we must rid ourselves of the tyranny of the ignorant and the opportunism of time-servers. In any case, there is not much else to engage one on a foundation of ownership stakes. “There is of course, always the possibility of a Revolution, with a clarity of purpose and acceptance of all attendant risks, including costly errors. Revolutions are not however based on the impetus of speculative power entitlement. “No matter, until that moment, the structures that ensure just and equitable cohabitation must be protected from partisan appropriation - be it from material inducement, fake news, or verbal terrorism – the last being the contribution of one who is positioned to assume co-leadership of the nation, no less. Revolution is not about lining up behind the nearest available symbol. When a symbol does emerge however, we are still obliged to examine every aspect of what is fortuitously on offer, and continue to guard our freedoms every inch of the way. “Before I take myself off for – well, next port of call – the final word goes to a favourite maverick, propagated even as he matched his words by action. I suspect that in this instance we find ourselves on opposite sides of the strategic fence – that is democracy. This now coopted watchword of his formulation remains apt, applicable to all who strive for authentic social transformation: Your mummu done do!” Soyinka also said the attacks against him for criticising Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed for insisting that the Supreme Court must rule in the party’s favour justifies his earlier comment that fascism was taking over the political arena. He said, “It would appear that a record discharge of toxic sludge from our notorious smut factory is currently clogging the streets and sewers of the Republic of Liars. It goes to prove the point that provoked the avalanche EXACTLY! The seeds of incipient fascism in the political arena have evidently matured. “A climate of fear is being generated. The refusal to entertain corrective criticism, even differing perspectives of the same position has become a badge of honour and certificate of commitment. What is at stake, ultimately is – Truth, and at a most elementary level of social regulation: when you are party to a conflict, you do not attempt to intimidate the arbiter, attempt to dictate the outcome, or impugn, without credible cause, his or her neutrality even before hearing has commenced.”
