Nigeria is a secular state technically but the reality is that Nigeria has 3 main judicial systems,

Nigeria approved only sharia civil laws in its constitution. Nigeria does not have sharia criminal laws in its constitution. This is why sharia problems started since 2000 when twelve northern states adopted sharia criminal laws.

Sharia civil laws and sharia criminal laws - the first is constitutional, while using the last is not constitutional in Nigeria.
