PMB has no constitutional right to influence who and who shall be the officers of another arm of government - the legislature. The legislature was designed to act as check and balance to the executive. But PMB has aired his choice for who and who become the principal officers of the Legislature. - Unconstitutional Act 1. |
Oga's Driver, Security Guard ---- even the Vice Chancellor of Harvard or Oxford or Cambridge University cannot have those slave-like employees. Lots of things are fundamentally wrong with Nigeria. |
Lol, accusations in Nigeria. It's like Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of CBN then accusing people of stealing first - $50billion , then $40billion, then he brought it down to $20 billion. PMB benefited to become president through the accusation as SW media and crowd believed Sanusi. Not withstanding that local and international authorities have examined Sanusi allegations and pronounced them unfounded. The SW did not understand that Sanusi used that allegation to make power back to Arewa. The era has gone when one or few persons could steal such huge sums of money. Where will the money be banked or kept? Even PMB is still looking for Sanusi's alleged stolen money today, instead of focusing on creating wealth for Nigeria. |

Maintech:Is Yerima from the same country with you? Yerima shares same country with you temporarily until crude oil stops having value, then he will finally pull his far north away from Nigeria to form a new Sharia republic. The sexual abuse prevention law can NEVER work before millions of people in Yerima's part of Nigeria. Yerima told a BBC female reporter during the sharia wars last decade that Nigeria's southern people and his northern people do not have common value systems. |
Even Oshiomhole has become an oil accountant. This Islamic reunion in Nigeria is taking the country to blazes. |
Meanwhile, Buhari ignores the hundreds of thousands in the southeast who are on the streets protesting the alleged transfer of Boko Haram prisoners to the south east. No statement, no rebuttal from the president. What a dictatorship. O ga dikwa kpo kpo . |
azimibraun:No, the means justifies the end. Nigeria miseducated its citizens such that the citizens could not realize that a terror group maligned the tenure of the last administration headed by Jonathan, and unarguably enabled Buhari to become president of Nigeria. This is the heart of the matter. Something - a presidency - acquired through unjust means. |
Genius100:Buhari had ruled Nigeria before. He knows who is who in Nigeria he can appoint minister. Buhari has been contesting to rule Nigeria in the last 12 years, if he had his eyes on putting Nigeria on the road to greatness, the day he was declared winner of the presidential election, he should have been handy with the list of ministers he intended to use to do the job. |
Abba999: |
In other words, Buhari truly wanted to have Boko Haram prisoners transfered to Anambra state? If this is true, Buhari does not mean any good for Nigeria. |
likata:Just imagine. So shara reporters want to start clean house from outside and leave inside dirty. |
We don't want political instability. Therefore, APC leaders must restrain PMB from making open statements that show he wants APC leadership choosing the principal officers of the legislature. That is an impeachable offense. An elected president must not involve in election of the leaders of the legislative arm of government. |
Not only unconstitutional, it promotes dictatorship, kills checks and balances in the three arms of government : executive, legislature and judiciary. They want make PMB a dictator. |
RichDad1:Lol, you mean the man of Otuoke whom they give power and he began immediately de pray to return the power, because for him, living in government house was like living in a cage? |
philips70:U mean Adesina himself can't put that missive down? But Dele Momodu has just been expressing disappointment with Buhari administration? |
firstEVA:Jonah made the groundwork rolling out electricity, before we sent him away a month ago today. |
midolian:In bold: ... " administration naturally contemplative. '' OMG; please tell this PMB spokesman that no administration can be naturally -- anything. What does this man mean? Did he want to say that Buhari was naturally contemplative? |
The mess created by northern military leaders who restructured Nigeria and proliferated states and Local govt areas in the north is the crux of Nigeria's problem, not just PDP mess. With once one north region increased to 19 states + Abuja, while once two southern regions were given only 17 states, and with the large numbers of political representatives for north compared to south's, no important reforms can pass in the NASS, unless it favours only north; the northern political elite dictates who can be what in Nigeria's political process. Change now!!!. What happens to the last CONFAB recommendations that could have made Nigeria a country of equality, peace and ensuing development? |
{(1) No person shall be qualified for election to the Senate or the House of Representatives if: (a) subject to the provisions of section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, has made a declaration of allegiance to such a country;} Lots of Nigeria's well-educated population have dual citizenship. The constitution was handed to us by northern soldiers who supervised it. They had a regional purpose for eliminating dual citizenship even for the offices of the NASS - not for the sake of patriotism - few Northerners go out of Nigeria - talk less, acquiring dual citizenship. But the most important parts of that 1999 constitution may be impossible to amend now, because northern soldiers proliferated too many states in the north with subsequent too many legislators and legislative houses in the north. Worse, each time people in the Eastern zone asked for political restructuring by creating one more state in the southeast to enable equitable representation between the north and south in the NASS, people like Raji Fashola from the SW led the pack of opposition to that. |
Oh Poor Saraki: NIGERIA' S CONSTITUTION (as delivered to us by northern Nigeria soldiers) - Qualifications for Membership of National Assembly and Right of Attendance 65. (1) Subject to the provisions of section 66 of this Constitution, a person shall be qualified for election as a member of: (a) the Senate, if he is a citizen of Nigeria and has attained the age of 35 years; and (b) the House of Representatives, if he is a citizen of Nigeria and has attained the age of 30 years; (2) A person shall be qualified for election under subsection (1) of this section if: (a) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent; and (b) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that party. (1) No person shall be qualified for election to the Senate or the House of Representatives if: (a) subject to the provisions of section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, has made a declaration of allegiance to such a country; (b) under any law in force in any part of Nigeria, he is adjudged to be a lunatic or otherwise declared to be of unsound mind; (c) he is under a sentence of death imposed on him by any competent court of law or tribunal in Nigeria or a sentence of imprisonment or fine for an offence involving dishonesty or fraud (by whatever name called) or any other offence imposed on him by such a court or tribunal or substituted by a competent authority for any other sentence imposed on him by such a court; (d) within a period of less than 10 years before the date of an election to a legislative house, he has been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty or he has been found guilty of a contravention of the Code of Conduct; (e) he is an undischarged bankrupt, having been adjudged or otherwise declared bankrupt under any law in force in any part of Nigeria; (f) he is a person employed in the public service of the Federation or of any State and has not resigned, withdrawn or retired from such employment 30 days before the date of election; (g) he is a member of a secret society; (h) he has been indicted for embezzlement or fraud by Judicial Commission of Inquiry or an Administrative Panel of Inquiry or a Tribunal set up under the Tribunals of Inquiry Act, a Tribunals of Inquiry Law or any other law by the Federal or State Government which indictment has been accepted by the Federal or State Governments respectively; or. (i) he has presented a forged certificate to the Independence National Electoral Commission. |
Chai, I de waste time for one small village topic since. Lemme consult Nigeria's constitution first. Did the constitution also say that someborry who has dual citizenship cannot be senate president? I don't think so. |
Abagworo:…..the earlier the silent but inquiring millions know who is building Imo-European university Ogboko, the berrer naw. A modern King Nebuchadnezzar may not even succeed in having his way alas - as he kept people guessing over such a project in their domain; e no de easy like that. Naija people just keep quiet de wait - to either support or disown who rightfully or wrongly claims ownership of the Imo-Euro thing. |
abagoro:Na Imo state government, abi, who is building the so-called Imo European University in Ogboko? Strange - up to four years gone, and still building blocks for a university; how many eon ages more before it starts to operate; so that Nigerians know who owns it?
|
Abagworo:this man is now showing that he is a typical aboki. he used to pretend that he is IGBO. |
Rumour? Well let it never be true. Americans refuse Guantanamo prisons in US soil. It was to avoid having the base of terrorists spread to US cities, so as not to expand war front for US military. Transferring BH prisoners from areas BH operates means expanding the group's operation to other areas, it means expanding the anti-terror war front for Nigeria Army. Buhari ordered removal of military checkpoints; sure, that must enhance the movement of BH fighters down to areas they could not reach earlier - that means expanding the anti-terror war front for Nigeria Army. . No sooner did Buhari become president than use of sharia criminal courts resurfaced in north of Nigeria after 14 years of hibernation. Boko Haram makes it clear that it is fighting for a country friendly with use of sharia criminal laws. |
Disrespect Sunday and Christianity - uphold use of sharia criminal laws; that's the desire of Kano state. In 2000, about 12 northern states adopted illegal and unconstitutional sharia criminal justice system. The rest of the world condemned that. Hundreds of Nigerians died resisting and supporting introduction of sharia criminal codes in the 12 states. The 12 states withdrew since then - till last week, when Kano state sharia criminal court sitting in secrecy sentenced 9 Nigerians to death for blasphemy. So now that Buhari has become president, talk of use of sharia criminal laws have reopened again? |
Abagworo:Oh Yes O. I am not from Abia state but I pray for operation total reconstruction of Aba city roads within the next three years. Solid reconstruction O!! With good drainage system, well constructed city roads can last for decades - no qualms. |
I as the Commander-In-Chief of Justice and equity command Gov. Ikpeazu to use nearly all of Abia state's capital budget in four years to return Aba to okay. Umuahians displayed crass neglect of Aba and mistook a state to be the state's capital city only - like their Imo state counterparts. |
abagoro:@Mallam abagoro, America's war for Independence from Britain was fought on America's soil, not in abagoro's village - note: cowards die many times before their deaths. War is not good, must be a last resort - but when it is to seek for lasting peace and freedom, it is inevitable. Those concerned may ask Nigeria as presently structured for more cuts from crude oil, it is wasting time; many Nigerins like abagoro would rather even take away the 13% concession to oil producing areas - if possible. Agitators may ask Nigeria for referendum from now till thy kingdom come, nothing is gonna come out of the request. |
Mr. UdengsEradiri is like the proverbial woman who for threat of death from a group of rapists opened up to the rapists who eventually raped her to death. Youths in many European countries fought and died for the freedom which Europeans enjoy today - but no body must fight a losing war. No body or group gets freedom on a platter of gold. Freedom does not mean living well when your kin are suffering. |
Okijajuju1:Ranting of an eternally mentally slavish or crude oil patriot of one Nigeria - a country that has demonstrably failed to function. Your small senses tell you that you can continue to draw a division between SE and SS so that as the two groups are exploited by your masters, there can be no strong opposition from either the SS or SE to confront the exploiters. When some Nigerians were fighting for independencr from colonial rule, your lazy type must have questioned what for? |
