i think it's about time, the operators of the bus service speak up or make annoiuncement for their service it's very difficult to understand who to put quetsions to the government or Lamata/lagbus |
Reference: Honestly, I don't know when and where this sordid sub-culture started. Hard wired in the minds of those who patronize black industries. I travel a lot within the country and you can't escape the danger within the minds of the perps and public. So sad. The hotel owner should have been more pro-active in rejecting the patronage of the arrested robber. See the trouble he has brought on himself. And this is why I continue to emphasize that the private sector and the service industry in general cannot continue to pretend it is not involved in corruption and crime. If you are patronized by robbers, embezzlers, kidnappers or whatever selling them services, be it banking, real estate, insurance, medical, ICT, security, even doing their damn laundry, you can get burnt badly and in this case even loose your life. Corruption is real, avoid it.but you cant really scrutinise every one coming to lodge at a hotel or use your service can you. How will the hotel know the criminals amonst their clients |
hrhobi1: If the police had an helicopter , getting those guys would have been easy.erm they do have helicopters but its not for these sort of official duties, its for ferrying the wife of governors and ministers some use it as revenue generation |
story sounds somehow robbers dont go for 'revenge' except the hotel called the police to arrest the gang leader in the first place, imagine all the hotel, bars etc that these guys are caught weekly and why isnt the name of the gang leader mentioned, has he been charged to court or he's still waiting in a detention centre |
the legend: Heard this incident occurred at Ajah Lagos. Can anyone confirm the exact hotel?04 hotel |
django1: Where's Naptu to come and explain to us how this will workYou trust Senior Naptu to explain lag government scheme intoto dont ya?! ![]() he makes vanguard journalists and teh rest look lazy and incompetent |
nitrogen: Yes, ICAN result is out, I am one of the newest ACAs in town. Thank God.Well done Nitro!!! Congratulations!!!! ![]() |
4 Play: The main problem for me is that we have a corrupt Govt that cannot be trusted with money. Other than that, Nigeria has major infrastructure needs that require heavy borrowing for the Govt to finance it.perhaps if/when they block leakages; abandon projects, abandoned ministries/departments,reduce presidential jets etc |
The threat is documented very well in the beginning of the thread. I'm not responsible for your comprehension aptitude.
erm you were reading a comment from youtube not the video- the source of the comment, you cant prove All the neighborhood watch teams looking for some cheap thrill sef! |
dabossman: Do you find the bolded to be an impossible scenario? Was it not in this country that four boys were lynched simply because someone labelled them thieves? Is it not in this country that students abducted their VC and put him in a metal drum? Is lynching and jungle justice unheard of in this country?Yes I actually do lol license to kill, very soon police guards attached to banks will be using the same excuse |
GEJ started a good work in bayelsa,he doubled the frquency wen he became nigeria's president.I respect u sir. They'll criticise u now,but later, they'll appreciate what u did.
you mean apart from being the president of nigeria he also doubles as the governor/miniter for Bayelsa ? |
decode: Government is financed by tax revenue and borrowings. Besides the loan is cheap @ 3% (cooperative rate).cheap loans that arent used for revenue generating projects or visibly completed project are a pain in the backside |
dabossman: I don't know what some of you are on about, but I watched this video several times and the police officer was asking a rhetorical question, which he followed with an answer himself. He asked those gathered/someone in their midst: "I should let you rough-handle him? I will gun you down"Lord have mercy!!! imagine o I will gun you down! FAAN officials would lynch a concessionaire?? |
HOW FAR |
. Citizens can't prance around threatening to disarm Police Officers willy nilly.we all watched a video, apparently you are the only one that heard the threat? coincidentally this is the defence nigerian police use all the time, a protester was shot last year, a student was shot on a bike a month ago in benin, another student was shot in the leg in ilorin- why are all these silly prats prancing about where an armed officer is, it's not enough they are untrained citizen and actually appear non-threatening |
Y'ALL BETTER START LEARNING CHINESE!!! LOL and teach your children mandarin cos when these people come for their money eh ![]() |
And it's as easy and plain as that. Not sure why some fail to see the danger in threatening to disarm a police officer, especially in an already tense situation.
BECAUSE, there was nothing like that in the video!! the response (verbal) 'you will rough handle him' doesnt sound like a reply to i will disarm you you're making too much excuses for brutalilty, tense situation or not, armed officers should be professional not threatening! |
CAN someone just please list the number of projects that have been completed with all these chinese loans, they never finish their project it seems, they like recurring loans- esp in the rail sector- mos tannoying part is it's their companies and staff that will be implenting the projects |
Ngwakwe: The Policeman was Right in this context.starting to notice; almost all videos in nigeria is discredited as doctored. na wa o |
ahh here's Somorin again fresh from the NYSC brutality page |
after watching a video of Jay-Z and Timbaland working in the studion together when she was 9.well done to her I think i remember this video excerpt, it was on the Fade to Black final tour video, the beat was Big- i think someone else used the beat though |
Dont really know the issue with 'international' Any airport/govt that can attract airline to do business in their state should go ahead instead of looking for the word 'international' They should lobby the ministers to give allocations for direct landing slots to foreign operators; most of them have the funds to upgrade their airport to acceptable standards anyway, it's not until it has the tag international that it becomes one if not for politics, this Kano airport shouldn't be in the list of 'remodeled or renovation exercise' not yet anyway absolute waste of money |
https://www.nairaland.com/1347600/nigerian-policeman-threatening-shoot-civilian/1#16629833 please remove the attached pic, it has nothing to do with the topic and it's too big thanks |
You think the FG even notice lol looooong thing! |
how about making the paypal or alternate account number readily available less cumbersome IMO |
Acidosis: Have you ever been to Kano?these are historic claims, 2013 is very different from those days lived in Kano before how many flights are going in and out of kano and which airlines? Kabo died many years ago only comes alive during Hajj everyone's moved to Abuja with their business except for the lebanese contractor who handle most of the engineering stuff mind you Maiduguri/Borno is "Home of Peace" Scholarship on daily basis and that is sustainable development for the airport business eh? Foreign investment such as? nice development though, seems like this will be in government hand forever no private investor can make a profit from this airport except they build and international conference centre right in the middle of the airport with hotel so people can pop in and out sharp sharp |
Joyfullyme: Carefully listen to what he said.wow so that's enough to gun him down ? not even arrest him? choi |
iheneme: You conveniently left out the fact that before she was pushed the Camp Commandant had ordered everyone in but she was still there explaining. She got pushed once, still she was questioning the soldier's authority. You speak of human rights, doesn't the Camp Commanded have the right to be respected/obeyed?SHE WAS EXPLAING TO ANOTHER uniformed person according to the story! right to be respected? huh does that include physical punishment? whatever happen to communication all their training is in basic animal cruelty? |
These crazy army soldiers that never get punished, instead they get relocated somewhere else to continue their barbaric assault on innocent people who would be picking up the bills? Hope the nysc insurance scheme is not just on paper |
I mean surely CAF wont just suspend a club on a whimp, perhaps NFF couldnt produce a document and were foot dragging probably photoshopping and backdating some paper work from oluwole seems if we dont get embarrassed on the international stage we cant change |
isnt this like the third time they are changing uniforms? what happened to the light blue ones, seems its only the seniors wearing it |
