One major reason I chose to not go live offshore especially United States of America! The other day a well-to-do black man took his family out to dinner. On their way out of the restaurant a white man met him at the door and plunged a knew into his stomach right in the presence of wife and children killing him. The white man subsequently said he did that out of frustration and fury at the sight of a black man who is well-to- do! What a society!

Just between November and December this year alone, trucks, buses etc ram into school children, passengers and commuters killing over 50 people and not a single investigation or acknowledgment from Governors, Senator ...just another day in our morally conscious society!

I notice that some people are so unrealistic when giving advice to a newbie coming into UK. If they are politicians children maybe then yes..

I think people give advice largely based on their own perspective and/or experience...

I am thinking of this route but my children are also involved. They are still small and may not cope.

Oh no. This decision has thrown a spanner in the works. Sad thing is they still haven't justified their decision vaccinated or not

Hopefully it gets reviewed ASAP so people and economies can get going again

Fake lifestyle or stress ..... I think it's more of the latter .........

Indeed, get a Hotel or Airbnb..........

When I travel, I book hotels (regardless of family members at location)..... I don't like stress..... grin

Exactly as it should be.... grin

I think 5 out of 10 Nigerians that are living in UK are born wicked. Most of these guys have terrible characters, I used to warned new comers to stop depending on them on any money related issues or shelters.
An innocent lady got stranded at Gatwick entry weeks ago having sugarcoated heavily before leaving Nigeria. Londoners are not friendly, unfortunately most of them are living fake life on social media. I encourage everyone to plan well before leaving Nigeria. Best wishes!

Totally agree with you, people should just save themselves the hassle get a hotel/apartment and leave those people and their fake lifestyle!

Good morning. Has anyone used Qatar Airways recently?
I'm seeing an option to pay for seats after paying for the tickets, is this compulsory?

Secondly, what's the baggage allowance for a two years old child?. Thank you.

It's optional...you take the seat you're given, choose one of the free seats available or pay for a particular seat with all the extras...

Have you checked their website or your ticket for allowance? If child has own seat then normal luggage allowance

Guys I need to change my phone because the screen is broken. Where can i get a used cheap phones for now? someone suggested ebay or Facebook market. I am in Hayes area

do you have insurance on your phone or with your bank account? you might be able to make a claim instead of paying out of pocket

Those are good places to look but you have no protection from facebook marketplace. Also avoid gumtree for things like that- you them on bulk items or service you can pay after- there are not intermediaries just you and the seller going back and forth if something goes wrong

Ebay, CeX, Vinted?

it is surprising that they can treat international students this way, on this BRP delay crisis

Covid19?.... many things were impacted. Hospital waiting list, people waiting for operations/treatment, jobs, economy etc

Many people are working from home, managers had to reduce targets for staff, many workplace training are relaxed or not able to commence...

Travel / Re: Why Multiple Covid19 Tests Despite Being Negative As A 9ja Citizen Entering 9ja? by DisGuy: 2:28pm On Nov 10, 2021
temmytanny:
Hello house,

My mom had an experience as a Nigerian citizen returning to Nigeria recently. She did covid19 test and it was *negative*. Before boarding plane to Nigeria, she was required to fill a form and generate a bar code. To get the bar code she must pay approx. #100k( for unvaccinated and #50k for vaccinated travelers) before she can be allowed into her country of birth and residence. I do understand the need for people and country to monitor anyone coming into its country but why such a huge burden on its citizen going back to her motherland?
What happens if someone is cash trapped? Or an elderly person with no funds to pay for 2 covid19 tests despite being declared negative from abroad? Are we as a country shooting ourselves on the foot, because, if many tourist or foreigners find out the stress and fees to pay to get into the country, they could opt out for other tourist destinations. USA for example average 70k covid positive everyday and foreigners are not subjected to this kind of stress, just enter with a negative result and when leaving USA, go for a free test.
Please, correct me if am getting something wrong here but as a Nigerian, it doesnt make sense to do another test when i was declared negative and returning to my country of residence. Is this another way to enrich testing centers? or are we making our already corrupt Immigration officers, more corrupt?

this is the case in many countries as a result of Covid. As more people gets vaccinated the policy changed

Thanks for the response, let me reframe the question. I will present all necessary documents/evidence required. Does she need evidence of savings in her name as well?

I believe my account statement should cover her

before people with experience chip in, I will say based on what has been advised here previously, you have to emphasis you are sponsoring fully, if possible make a budget breakdown of her travel plans and cost in the application summary with reference to your account ot if you have created a special account for the trip for her---you still have to demonstrate her strong ties to the country

Please which taxi app is the best for commuting outside London. Eg Gillingham to Canterbury, and other part outside Canterbury. Thanks.

some towns don't have ride hailing app like uber/bolt/Kapten ;they have local ones specific to that area, the cabs in those areas operate a call and book service- if it's a big firm they might have an app like data cars, happicabs etc

I have checked and got conflicting info, that's why I ran to a platform like this where someone can aid with first hand information.

I was asking what website you were looking at.
You only need to book a UK covid test for day 2. You need to book in advance plus complete the passenger locator form.
