Dear diskindgod,

Step 1

I take it your pc is all in one ?

please check there is no cd in the computer.

if no joy restart and keep pressing f10 for bios, you'd see a blue screen press f9 or any other key to
load setup default then press f10 or any other key to save and exit then see if it would boot into windows.

Step 2
Could you disconnect everything at the back of the computer.

shut down the computer and disconnect all external devices including the keyboard, mouse and USB devices.

Unplug the power cord.

Press the computer Power button and hold it for at least 30 seconds.

Reconnect the power cord but do not reconnect the external devices yet.

Turn on your computer and see if it boots normally. If it does, shut it down,
reconnect the external devices and turn it back on.

Dekonjay: First of all I want to thank everyone here in this forum for their support. I want to thank God, cos he has filled my heart with joy.

It all started May 1st 2013 when I logged on the dv website and found my future husband had been selected. I was overjoyed at the result as it was the best wedding present ever. We got married May 2013. We had both played the dv lottery in October 2012 as singles even though we were engaged.


THE CHAT:
Co: Good morning Mr and Mrs Dekonjay
Us: Good morning to you Sir.
Co: You both have to raise your right hands up and answer YES or NO to the following questions.
Us: Did as we were told and took our oaths.
Co: (Addressing my husband who is the PA) Mr Dekonjay I see you moved your interview from the UK to your current country? Why is that and What did you do there?
My hubby: Explained.
Co: So tell me where and how did you meet your wife?
My Hubby: In 2010 bla bla bla.
Co: Have you ever met your wife's family? Tell me something about them?
My Hubby: talked away...
Co: (Addressing me - all the while I stood quietly at my husbands side while he answered the questions). And you Mrs Dekonjay have you ever met your husband's family? What do you know about them?
Me: Answered.
Co: do you like your mother in law?
Me: Of course , I do! ( we both laughed)
Co: I see you have both been married for a little over a year. Have you got any kids?
Us: hopefully one is on its way as we speak.
( more laughter as the Co joked about our response)
Co: Well, Mr and Mrs Dekonjay it seems everything is ok here. I have to say your visas have been approved. At that point I was already in seventh heaven and I wasn't listening anymore...

All in all the interview took less than 15mins. I just couldn't believe how smoothly it all went. The Co was nice, friendly and with a good sense of humour which made us feel at ease during our chat with him. It was a beautiful experience.

VisaOfficer: Unfortunately it seems that there were serious discrepancies in the answers given in the two separate interviews, which led the officer to conclude that the relationship is not bona fide. Applicants have one opportunity to convince the officer that they are qualified and in a bona fide spousal relationship; if they cannot do so, unfortunately, they have lost their opportunity to receive 2014 Diversity Visas. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Interview experience.....
After some delays,we finally made our way to d interview hall,pay d visa fee,submission of docz..........
my daughter was eating her biscuit when our number finally buzzd...

Co; *to my daughter - hey, u want to give me some (biscuits) ?
Me..; was praying inside for her to say yes or good afternoon but my daughter was jus staring at him and finally said- your window is not open...your window is not open...lol.

Me; yes. I am A,this is B,and here is C. *swearing...*fingerprint... Co; ur highest qualificatn.
Me; bla...
Co; when did u finish ?
Me; bla...
Co; how many exams did u write? Me;bla... Co;How old is ur daughter? Wifey; *not want to be left out . Bla...
Co; was she born through caesarian ?
Me; *a little surprised. Bla...
Co; u r so so age ?
Me; yes.
Co; you look older than ur age,just like myself.

Me;btw N700-N1,000 we paid for d passport photo and airtime.

Me; yes but I don't always bother to check d result.
**off interview(As a matter of fact,it was a man dat assisted us to play in his cafe that was looking up and down for me to tell me I won . He's not an agent o bcoz he didn't collect extra kobo from me)*
Co; was nodding...typed...circled. Okay, pick ur visa at......greencard........... Me;grabbed wifey nd kissed her on d forehead

Its all GOD! I only put in my effort and HE crowned it all.

#Observations and Advice- I discovered we carried d biggest bag among all,fully loaded with supporting documents ofcourse but after submitting d necessary docz,nothing was requested from us again. Not even our Photo album *Note -this doesn't mean people shouldn't go with necessary supporting docz,cases differ...The most important thing is to (1) Acknowledge GOD. None of us selected him/herself,Na GOD do am. (2)Prepare adequately *there is nothing like 'over-preparation'. (3) be cordial with pple in d interview hall and compose urself very well *couples should chat a lot while waiting for their turn nd try to crack jokes to ease tension. (4)Look around briefly and learn quickly.*no need to dey change seat. (5) if one of the couple is asked to go and sit while they interview d other d one being interviewed dnt need to repeat d question or shout so the other can hear. (6)The Co will only ask u what they expect u to know so jus be calm and answer as if u r chatting with a friend. No be JAMB. Lol


Met with @Lakesyd family inside d interview hall.I feel sorry for their denial but GOD knows best and he certainly know what is best for them. Wishing @Lakesyd family all the best.

cute2014: @Justwise & Seun Osewa: Welldone.I have said to u b4 that u are good ambassadors to Nigeria.I now have another reason to reiterate this.Went for my medicals on Sat,went to have my kids' Mantoux test read today and I asked the lady beside me if she knew about Nairaland she didn't,introduced her to the forum and I was talking about this at my folks' only for my younger sister to tell me that herself and her husband found important tips about roofing houses on a thread on Nairaland and saved a great fortune.Here I was thinking waoh what a travel thread and to some other person waoh what a ?building section.I need to explore your other sections now as I am officially commited or is it addicted? to Nairaland.God bless u guys.
