FamilyRe: Do Wives Do This Or I Just Have A Bad One? by diva90: 12:51pm On Apr 18, 2016
That behaviour is peculiar to her, I don't see why picking up a brother should be an issue. She seems to be a jealous person with a slight temper. I'm sure these traits are not new, yet you married her, something you have to learn to manage.

mumtriplet2:
That is how mum pushed me to marry when I was in jss2, just for her child to marry early.

Later got married when I was in ss3 ( just to make them happy) hubby promised me heaven and earth that I will further my education but it never happened.

I have been married to 5years now but no child (married as a virgin), he beat me every time call me names and say that am badluck to him.He is 11 years older than me ,Am 22+ and am tied.

I want to move on with my life but everyone is saying that we have wedded that is not easy to divorce.
am afraid because I don't want to die and he may kill me one day.

God I need your wisdom in this critical condition that am into.

#AllIWantIsToBeHappy
That's too bad! You need to leave that marriage and start afresh! You are a young lady supposedly with a lot of potentials...Look for a small job to be doing while you save some money to further your education. It's very important that you complete your school. Without a degree you are hindered and cannot progress properly career wise.
Your marriage is not healthy. If there was no violence involved, I would have adviced you to try and get pregnant because a child might remedy the stress between you two and restore some love. I find it hard to believe that you are 22+ and going through infertility issues. It's either you two do not have sex at the right time or you have hormonal issues. Anyways, looking at the situation of things , it's not adviced that you remain there.
Seek help with someone who is older and more experienced, so that they can advice you properly on what next to do.
Good luck!

Societal expectations basically! In the Nigerian context, you aren't fully accomplished until you have a family and kids
FamilyRe: How My Late Aunt Maturely Dealt With Her Cheating Husband.........ladies LEARN! by diva90: 9:23pm On Apr 17, 2016
This is BS! You should have told us what killed her, probably an STD that she contracted from her husband or high blood pressure from all the thinking and lack of peace of mind. I also want to believe she stayed in the marriage because she was financially dependent on him, there is no other reason why a wise woman would take such nonsense and risk her life/health. Thank Goodness for the Age of Enlightenment and female empowerment , most women don't have to remain in such a miserable mess. Imagine if the tables were turned and your aunt was the one cheating, how would your uncle have handled it?

. Who told you Nigerian nurses earn peanuts? Goto teaching hospitals and fmc's and find out what they earn. You'll be surprised some of them earn up to 700k per month
How many years experience do they have? Probably over 20 years of experience or they are at management level for them to be earning that. A new nurse what does she earn? Less than 50k not to talk of private hospitals. A nurse in the US makes in two days what a nurse in nigeria makes in a month.

Been dating for years and today I decided to go through my Bf's pics/gallery...I found this, is it for real?
It's real, my village list was 3 pages and each page was longer than that list you posted. Somethings can be negotiated or substituted with its monetary value. The list is usually divided into what the man will do for the girl's father, her mother, the umu Ada( elder women) and the elders, also things he will buy for the bride. It's just inevitable Igbo tradition and this is not even the bride price, he will still do the list and pay the bride price. Pride price can range from N5 to thousands of naira depending on brides village and family demands
FamilyRe: A No Reception Wedding: How Feasible? Come In, Let's Discuss by diva90: 3:05am On Apr 15, 2016
One word: awkward. You can have a very small strictly by attendance reception(100 people or less) instead of completely ruling it out. So many ways to cut costs, if your church has a hall, they would most likely give it to u for free or a very small fee. You can look for affordable caterers, cheap dj and photographer etc just sit down and plot out a budget and plan
FamilyRe: Pregnant Again! Advice Please. by diva90: 2:57am On Apr 15, 2016
Deed is done. Just accept it and come to terms with it. The most important thing is that your husband has pledged his support. Imagine if the case was reverse. Every disappointment is a blessing. After this one, make sure you get actual birth control from a family planning center, withdrawal method is not reliable. If you don't, then don't come running to us when number 5 happens ... All the best
FamilyRe: Who Comes For "Omugo" First? The Husband Or Wife's Mum? by diva90: 2:45am On Apr 15, 2016
Omugwo is for the woman's mother to do, the only time the man's mother does omugwo is if the woman's mother is late or she's unable to attend for reasons that are beyond control. However the man's parents come and visit but it's not really considered omugwo
FamilyRe: Her Husband's Sisters Disrespect Her In her Own Home by diva90: 2:37am On Apr 15, 2016
Why can't she get a small maid to help her with chores? If she's so uncomfortable with her Inlaws staying in her husband's house, then she should speak to her husband about her concerns and ask him to subtly ask them to vacate/find somewhere else. Seeing that the husband is on the same side with his sisters, he most likely will refuse. If I were her I would insist that they leave (he should choose between his wife or his sisters). They can go stay with their parents if they live in the same town or he can rent them a small cheap apartment. Their marriage is too young to have all these people sharing the same space with them, na so so trouble dey start

RomanceRe: The Major Reason Why Many Ladies Remain Single For A Long Time. by diva90: 2:04am On Apr 15, 2016
Very brilliant article! It's unfortunate that many Nigerian women are very lazy and would rather seek for a well to-do/rich man to marry instead of a man they can grow with. They forget that these men who are rich today started from somewhere and that the men who are struggling today may be be even richer than the men they are seeking today. Most of them who sought rich men eventually enter the marriage and don't even have peace of mind... So many examples out there. Truth is bitter but I'll say it....it is best to seek a man who is still coming up and grow with him. Like OP stated, females should try to have their own jobs and be financially independent instead of waiting for a man to do everything for them

She needs to get out of that useless marriage. undecided Someone was saying that he beats her on a regular basis, I guess this was just the height of it all and now she's ready to speak out. She's financially independent , thank God. I just hope that she makes the right move by leaving this abusive husband of hers.
TravelRe: SCAM ALERT : Is Wakanow.com A Fraud? by diva90: 1:44am On Apr 14, 2016
Your best bet is to get a lawyer since you have gone to their office severally and called to no avail. I doubt they are a scam because I have successfully used them a number of times to book my international flights but of course with most Nigerian businesses, it's always a hassle getting refunds back. Regardless, Really bad of them to treat you that way since customer service should be their number 1 priority. All the best in getting your money back cos 320k no be beans
BusinessRe: Banks Under Pressure From Industry Groups To Deepen FX Market by diva90: 1:35am On Apr 14, 2016
Infinitikoncept:
My grudge is against Naija banks claiming they got USD @ other sources apart from CBN so they sell @ whatever price they feel but when you want to collect your money gram, western union money or USD from your dorm they tell you its official buying rate & I wonder who is the scammer here. Why is CBN turning a blind eye to allocation of USD to banks & allowing them charge as much ad 330# above black market. If banks receive forex through t/t, western union, money gram, dorm account transfer but they will tell you we don't send USD out while others will even deactivate their cards from been used for international transactions what exactly are they using the Fx inflow for?
There is deep corruption in our banks
Even western union is a scam currently. There's no longer any such thing as official rate in nigeria anymore. Sent WU to the US, N190,000 and recipient picked $754. Meaning WU was given to her at a rate of N251 per $... Meanwhile actual rate is supposed to be N193 per dollar. I really think that the FG needs to look into these issues. There's no other route to get genuine forex at bank rate. So unfortunate
