Nairaland GeneralNnenna Okoye: ‘facial Oils And Foundations’, A Combination I Won’t Try And Reaso by divinehand2003(op): 6:54am On Mar 31, 2016
Facial Oils are becoming increasingly popular in the beauty world. You can find celebrities, beauty gurus, favorite bloggers and vloggers talking about how they’re a must-have beauty item. Using oils to create a flawless and smooth foundation look is the newest beauty fad; however, it is one of the beauty trends I will not try.

Many beauty gurus rave about the importance of the oils and how they can transform your makeup routine and create a flawless foundation coverage; however, that isn’t the case for everyone.

One of the most popular oils is the Farsali Rose Gold Elixir; it is an elixir that has 24 karat gold flakes, it not only nourishes your skin but also gives you a healthy, natural luminous glow. Plus, it has anti-aging properties. Ingredients include rosehip, vitamin e, and orange peel.nnenna okoye farasil elixir bella naija march 2016

For those with dry and normal skin, using oils under your foundation can give you a glowing, dewy effect. But this doesn’t happen with oily skin. It makes you look shiny, oily, and sweaty, not luminous (there is a thin line between the glow, shiny, and sweaty).

When using facial products, you need to understand your skin and how products, like oil elixirs, will affect your skin. Products are designed with skin types in mind. Most beauty products will only work well with one type of skin (or maybe 2 hahaha). Once you know what type of skin you have, you are more educated to choose products that work for you, and understand why some products won’t work.

Using oils under your foundation isn’t a good idea for oily skin, especially if you live in a hot humid country. Using oil elixirs is best for normal to dry skin, but never oily skin. I understand the importance of oils and facial elixirs. They can work wonders to hydrate and nourish your skin. But I’ll stick to applying them at night (This is just my personal opinion). I am not against oils; I use the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum a lot at night.nnenna okoye kiehls serum bella naija march 2016

For oily skin, you should be using a primer under your foundation, not oil. Primers can help keep the oils in your skin at bay, and away from the skins surface. If you want glowing skin but have oily skin, use bronzers or highlighters to get the desired effect.

With all being said, using oil elixirs with my foundation is not something I will try. They do not work on my oily skin, and with the heat in this country (I am not about that roast life). I will continue to stick to using oils on my face at night before bed to rejuvenate my skin, but never under my foundation. Unfortunately, this is one trend I cannot recommend for everyone because we all have different skin types.http://www.bellanaija.com/2016/03/nnenna-okoye-facial-oils-and-foundations-a-combination-i-wont-try-and-reasons-why/

Nairaland GeneralIf Politics Is Not Sexy, What Is My Wife Doing Here?’ – Bola Tinubu by divinehand2003(op): 7:37am On Mar 30, 2016
– The 8th Bola Tinubu Colloquium was held in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29

– The national leader of the APC praised his wife Oluremi for her role in his life and her tolerance through the years

– He noted that if politics was not sexy, his wife, who is a two-time senator, would not be in it

Bola Tinubu is expressing gratitude to all his guests.

Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that if politics was not sexy, his wife Oluremi would not be in it.

The Cable reports that the APC chieftain said this at The Bola Tinubu colloquium, which was held in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, to celebrate his 64th birthday.

In his speech, the former governor of Lagos state expressed gratitude to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, whom he referred to as “my attorney-general”, for initiating the colloquium eight years ago. He also praised his wife Oluremi, who is a two-time senator, for her role in his life and her tolerance through the years.

Tinubu revealed that his wife was behind the drive to make politics sexy for the youth to participate in it.

“My wife, as you have (seen) from the documentary, was one of the youths who were criticising us, the politicians. She said ‘make politics sexy so that youths can participate’.

“I got to the podium and said look at my wife, if politics is not sexy, what is she doing here? Remi, thank you for tolerating my trouble,” he said.

Tinubu described the ruling party as the cure for Nigeria and lauded APC governors for energizing him with their presence to continue his good work.

Speaking about the economic downturn currently confronting Nigeria, Tinubu said that “renaissance must come within” as the country has lands, minds and capacity to overcome challenges.

“I remember the article I wrote after the launch of the book, ‘Financialism: Fetching the Water from a Dry Well’. It was about this commodity exchange.

Nairaland GeneralInteresting!! NNPC Gets New Strategies To End Fuel Scarcity In Few Days by divinehand2003(op): 6:54am On Mar 30, 2016
Apparently miffed by the controversy generated by the declaration of the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, that the current petrol shortages could last up to two months, NNPC has unveiled new strategies to end the lingering fuel scarcity within the next few days.

The NNPC leadership is now assuring Nigerians that they are on top of the situation.

The commission says it’s committed to eliminating issue once and for all within the next few days.

NNPC’s Group General Manager in charge of Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Garba Deen Muhammed, said in a statement on Monday night that in the medium term, the corporation was working on sustainable strategies to permanently address the issues and challenges facing the midstream and downstream sectors.

According to him, the overarching objective is to make Nigeria a net exporter of Petroleum products as was the case in the 1970s.

He said:-

“Our commitment to ramp up our local refining capacity and availability remains unwaivered with the ongoing rehabilitation works targeted at running all Refineries at a minimum 70 per cent capacity utilisation within the next eight to nine months. This is in addition to our initiative of increasing the combined capacity of the domestic refineries through co-locating smaller but cost efficient modular refineries within the existing refineries premises within a time frame of 12-24 months.”

Muhammed noted that since the domestic crude oil supply of 445,000 barrels per day could only guarantee about 50 per cent of the 45 million litres national requirement for petrol, NNPC had secured presidential approval to take additional crude oil volume to guarantee national supply of petrol.

To curb storage and logistics challenges, he said the corporation was working on a joint partnership with technically and financially capable investors to ensure that petroleum products transportation and storage facilities were efficiently operated on an open-access common-carrier user-tariff basis.

“Some of these depots will be nominated as strategic reserves while we take possession of a strategic reserve vessel in the next 3 months. Results will be delivered within the next three – six months. Changes usually take time, effort and a lot of focus. We understand the plight of Nigerians and the impact on the overall economy. We genuinely empathize with the attendant sufferings and wish to reassure that we are focused and committed to bring an end to this situation within the next few days.”

PoliticsEkiti Govt Raises Alarm Over Apc's Plot To Destabilize State by divinehand2003(op): 6:34am On Mar 30, 2016
– The Ekiti state government raised alarm over an alleged plot of the APC to destabilize the state

– Armed policemen from Abuja allegedly invaded the state to begin arrest of PDP leaders, top government officials and members of the House of Assembly

– The state government stressed that Ekiti people would resist any attempt to use police officers to harass innocent citizensGovernor Fayose has a hard stance on President Muhammadu Buhari’s government policies.

The Ekiti state government has raised alarm over an alleged plot of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilize the state.

According to the government, armed policemen from Abuja have already invaded the state to begin arrest of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, top government officials and members of the state House of Assembly.

Vanguard reports that Lere Olayinka, the governor’s special assistant on public communications and new media, said this in a statement made on Tuesday, March 29.

He noted that a new plot was an aftermath of the failure of the Department of State Services (DSS) to coerce members of the state House of Assembly to impeach Governor Ayodele Fayose.“We are aware of the arrival of policemen from Abuja to Ekiti state with the intention of arresting 11 members of the House of Assembly, two PDP leaders per local government and some other top officials of the government.

“Ridiculously, the offense for which the policemen are to embark on this indiscriminate arrest is owing to TKO Aluko malicious outburst that those listed for arrest stockpiled arms during the governorship election conducted in Ekiti close to two years ago.

“This plot is in furtherance of the APC plot to destabilize the government of Ekiti state just because of Governor Fayose’s hard stance on President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC government policies.

“The question is, what was the arms they claimed were stockpiled used for? Was anyone killed or attacked during the election?” the statement read in part.

Olayinka wondered why the police is not arresting the APC chairman Jide Awe who is wanted for alleged murder and TKO Aluko who was declared wanted by the court for perjury.

He further stressed that the people of Ekiti state would resist any attempt to use police officers to harass innocent citizens.

“Democratically, we are entitled to our views on any issue in Nigeria and we won’t succumb to intimidation and harassment from any agency of the federal government,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti state chapter of the APC accused the governor of promoting questionable characters with several alleged crimes hanging on their necks.

The party also alleged that Fayose is running a government built on his personal image, what has “robbed Ekiti people the quality leadership with the right mindset to see governance beyond the prism of self-glorification.”https://www.naij.com/781707-armed-policemen-storm-ekiti-arrest-pdp-leaders-11-lawmakers-govt-alleges.html
