All 20 Premier League clubs remain committed to completing the season, according to its chief executive Richard Masters, although a “curtailment” of the season was discussed for the first time.

Clubs were also told they may have to repay a reported £340m to broadcasters – even if the season resumes behind closed doors.

“It’s the first time we’ve discussed curtailment, Masters said. “It’s still our aim to finish the season obviously, but it’s important to discuss all of the options with our clubs.”

Here’s a timetable of when the next discussions will take place:

Funny thing is Abacha's intention wasn't to loot the money... After the evil Americans sanctioned us in a way that we cant buy refined crude oil or sell our crude oil at international market... Abacha devised a clever plan to have private individuals with offshore accounts conduct transaction unbehalf of Nigerian government for a cut.. greedy Nigerians like Bagudu and current defense minister got supper greedy and connived with the west so as to have Abacha killed cold so as to seat on the money for years, enjoying millions in interest

.

How could you say that when his Wife says with Authority that no matter how much they recover from her late husband that sh3 can't be as poor as African Richest Man - ALIKO DANGOTE

This simply means Nigeria is concentrating on the foreign banks while the trillions in pounds are hidden here in Naija..

Politics / ABACHA LOOT: The Actual Amount Of Money That Was Discovered From Abacha Recently by Djpaparazy(m): 7:33am On May 05, 2020
The Nigerian government has received $311,797,866.11 recovered assets of General Sani Abacha repatriated from the United States and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

The Attorney-General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, confirmed this on Monday in a statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations at his office, Dr Umar Gwandu.

According to Malami, the amount increased significantly from over $308 million mentioned in an earlier statement in February to over $311million as a result of the interest that accrued from February 3 to April 28, when the fund was transferred to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He noted that the litigation process for the return of the assets titled ‘Abacha III’ commenced in 2014 while the diplomatic process that culminated in the signing of the Asset Return Agreement commenced in 2018.
The agreement was signed on February 3 by the governments of Nigeria, the United States, and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

“This Agreement is based on international law and cooperation measures, that sets out the procedures for the repatriation, transfer, disposition, and management of the assets,” he said.
According to the statement, the recovery effort consolidates on the record of the Muhammadu Buhari administration which has a history of recovery of $322m from Switzerland in 2018.
It added that the recovered loots were transparently and judiciously deployed in supporting indigent Nigerians as specified in the agreement signed with Switzerland and the World Bank.

Malami, who led the negotiation team, noted that the tripartite agreement and the process towards the implementation represented a major watershed in International Asset Recovery and Repatriation as it sought to provide benefit to the victims of corruption.
He said, “In line with the 2020 Asset Return Agreement, the fund has been transferred to a Central Bank of Nigeria Asset Recovery designated account and would be paid to the National Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) within the next fourteen days.
“The NSIA is responsible for the management and execution of the projects to which the funds will be applied.”

The minister insisted that the latest recovery would support and assist in expediting the construction of three major infrastructure projects across Nigeria – Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, Abuja – Kano Road, and the Second Niger Bridge.
He revealed that the government was in the process of establishing a Project Monitoring Team to oversee the implementation of the projects and report regularly on progress made to the public.
In order to ensure transparent management of the returned assets, Malami said the government would engage a Civil Society Organisation who has combined expertise in substantial infrastructure projects, civil engineering, anti-corruption compliance, anti-human trafficking compliance, and procurement to provide additional monitoring and oversight.

He noted that the process for the engagement of the CSO monitor has already commenced with the adverts placed in two local newspapers.
The recovered funds, according to the minister, were laundered through the U.S. banking system and then held in bank accounts in the Bailiwick of Jersey.

Politics / ABACHA LOOT: How Much Did The Late Head Of State Steal (see Details) by Djpaparazy(m): 4:14am On May 05, 2020
Even though he is no more, General Sani Abacha has been humorously described as one of the ancestors of Nigeria who has been donating money generously to successive governments from the land of the dead as his loot was outrageous.

He’s a man of multiple impressions. To some people, he was an enigma. To others, he was humane. But to many, he was simply a mean dictator and the man who wore the thickest goggles in town. Yet, some quarters preferred him as a consummate soldier, leader par excellence, trailblazer, stabilizer and strategist.

The Man Abacha
That was the late General Sani Abacha, Nigeria’s former Head of State between 1993 and 1998.
The name ‘Abacha’ resonates across Nigeria. He rose through the military ladder to the top echelon.
On December 31, 1983 when the army removed then President Shehu Shagari from power to give way for Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Abacha announced the power takeover. He also co-announced the coming of the Babangida regime with Gen. Joshua Dogoyaro and it was in that regime that he served as the chief of the army staff.
On November 17, 1993, Abacha took the reins of power after sacking the Shonekan interim administration where he served as Defence Minister. From that day to June 7, 1998, Abacha reigned supreme and maximally. Since he died, however, his name has continued to resonate for mostly the wrong reasons of corruption, fraud and financial embezzlement.
Loot
Many believe that his regime encouraged corruption by stashing away illicit funds in foreign bank accounts. One huge surprise about the saga, however, is that it’s been 22 years since Abacha passed on, yet government after government have continued to talk about Abacha loot. Though it may be difficult to place a hand on the figure stolen and hidden in many offshore accounts, Transparency International once said Abacha may have stolen up to $5bn between 1993 when he assumed office and 1998 when he died. Of this amount, successive governments made recoveries.
Recall that there have been one military leader and four civilian Presidents since the passage of the maximum ruler: General Abdulsalami Abubukar from June 8, 1999 to May 29, 1999; President Olusegun Obasanjo from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007; President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua from May 29, 2007 to May 6, 2010; President Goodluck Jonathan from May 6, 2010 to May 29, 2015; and President Muhammad Buhari who assumed office on May 29, 2015.

Recoveries
The recovered monies were principally stashed away in four major countries: Switzerland, Jersey Island in United Kingdom, United States and Liechtenstein. During the Abdulsalami era in 1999, $750 million was recovered. Under the Obasanjo administration, $1.2 billion was recovered in 2002; $149 million from Jersey Island, UK in 2003; $500 million recovered in 2004 from Switzerland and another $458 recovered in 2005 from Switzerland. During the Jonathan administration, $1 billion was recovered in 2012 and $380 million in 2015, both tranches from Switzerland. The Jonathan administration also recovered $227 million from Liechtenstein in 2014 and $48 million from the United States the same year.

The government of Buhari government recovered $322 million from Switzerland in 2017 and $308 million from Jersey Island, United Kingdom in February 2020 which is the most current. Of the four countries, Switzerland tops the list of recoveries. A total of about $2.6 billion of the funds so far repatriated to Nigeria was from Switzerland while the other recoveries came from UK and USA.
Significantly, in 2014, the Abacha family entered into an agreement, forfeiting several billions of dollars to the Federal Government, following plea bargaining to drop charges against the late military ruler’s son
Buhari’s government has however decided to plough the recovered funds into its Social Intervention Programmes, SIPs, but there were alarms that that is the vehicle to re-loot the money.
Meanwhile, an agreement was signed by the Federal Government, the government of Jersey and the United States to repatriate the latest $308m under some conditions to ensure the money was not re-looted.
The agreement, which the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, signed behalf of Nigeria, was said to have detailed that the money be used to finance three major projects across Nigeria: Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Western Region), Abuja-Kano Road (Northern Region), and Second Niger Bridge (Eastern Region).
But the issue took a twist when reports surfaced that there were plans to pay $100m of the money to Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu, a former associate of Abacha but now the governor of Kebbi State, on the grounds of a condition that facilitated the recovery of the money.
The plan has since been denied by the federal authorities.
Transparency International had this to say on the controversial Abacha loot: “In Nigeria, plans are in motion to distribute US$322 million recovered in Switzerland from the late General Sani Abacha, the country’s former military ruler. Abacha is suspected of looting between US$3 and $5 billion in public money.
“Where institutions of accountability are not working well, such cases pose a complex problem: how to make sure that the money is not embezzled again, and actually benefits the real victims of corruption – the ordinary people whose state finances were plundered. In 2006, US$723 million illicitly acquired by Abacha’s family was returned to Nigeria from Switzerland. A significant amount of these funds remains unaccounted for.
“That past experience led Switzerland to controversially attach conditions to the repatriation of this batch of Abacha loot, including third party oversight – meaning that the World Bank will now monitor the distribution of the funds.
“Under the deal, around 300,000 poor families in just over half the 36 states in Nigeria will each receive approximately US$14 per month through the Nigeria National Social Safety Net Program. However, this cash-transfer model has proved controversial, in part because of documented problems with how the safety net programme operates.”

Reps Talk Tough
Getting wind of the redistribution of the funds, the House of Representatives, in 2018, rejected the move by the Buhari government, saying government could not spend money not appropriated by parliament.
The Reps action followed a motion by Hon. Sunday Karimi of the 8th House titled: ‘Urgent Need to Stop the Federal Executive from Spending the Last Tranche of Abacha Loot or Any Recovered Loot At All Without Parliamentary Approval’ on July 5, 2018.
Parliament also rejected any form of conditionalities given to Nigeria by any country, saying that no country had the right to give it conditions on how to spend the money. The House then resolved to investigate the recoveries from 1999 to 2018.

Recovery Details
According to Transparency International, below are the details of the recoveries made by successive governments after Abacha’s death in 1998.
Under General Abdulsalami Abubakar: $750 million
Under President Olusegun Obasanjo: $2 billion
Under President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua: $0
Under President Goodluck Jonathan: $227 million
Under President Muhammadu Buhari: $630 million

Bottom line: Perhaps there are more looted funds still out there going by the frequency of recoveries by the federal authorities. In that regard, a member of the House of Representatives, Salam Bamidele, said: “I believe that we may not have really gone half way in digging some of those monies stashed away in foreign accounts by the late Gen. Sani Abacha and maybe some people who were close to him

Celebrities / Chelsea Boss Frank Lampard Sympathize With N'golo Kante by Djpaparazy(m): 7:24am On May 03, 2020

Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has sympathised with midfielder, N’Golo Kante, whose four or five incredible seasons have had a damaging impact on his fitness.

Kante has featured in over thirty-three top-flight games in each of the past four years in England.

The 29-year-old has been one of the best midfielders in the world, winning two Premier League titles with Leicester City and Chelsea, and the FIFA World Cup with France in 2018.

“We had four or five of those [injured players] when we finished playing recently.

“N’Golo Kante is obviously a great example because he has played four or five incredible seasons in terms of his individual success, and he has been used quite rightly by his managers a lot.

“This season, he has played only about 40% of our games, and even then, it’s been difficult for him, and I have really felt for him on an individual level. He’s been a huge miss for us.

“Looking forward, whenever a restart comes, we want to get him in the best shape.”

Kante is currently on self-isolation after the Premier League was suspended definitely due to the spread of coronavirus across the world.

Politics / Bandits Pay Us N6,000 To Sleep With Them - Nigerien Sisters by Djpaparazy(m): 7:08am On May 03, 2020

Two biological sisters, Binta Husaini and Balki Husaini, who are from Konni town in Niger Republic were allegedly arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps because of their relationship with the leader of bandits in Bagega forest in the Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, known as, Shaho, and his friend, Jijji. Binta, who speaks for the sisters, tells MAIHARAJI ALTINE about their relationship with the bandits

Where do you live?

We live in Sabon Gari area in Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State. We are from Konni town in Niger Republic.

What are you doing in Nigeria?

We live with our parents who weave and sell mats.

You were arrested in Bagega village along with an okada rider (commercial motorcyclist). What were you doing in Bagega?

We were invited by bandits to come and sleep with them. They asked the motorcyclist to bring us to their place.

How much do they pay you when they sleep with you?

They normally pay us N6,000 each. Sometimes they give us as much as N7,000.

How many times have you slept with them?

Four times. We never saw their families.

Do they give you food when you are with them in the forest?

Yes, they give us food.

How did you get to know the bandits?

They used to come to our house in Sabon Gari in Kaura-Namoda to spend the night with us. But the last time, they invited us to come to their place. They told us to go to Anka town and wait for the motorcyclist who would bring us to their place in the forest. Unfortunately we were arrested on the way.

Did your parents know about your relationship with the bandits?

No. They didn’t know that we were sleeping with the bandits.

What did you do with the money the bandits paid you for the times you slept with them?

We would use the money to buy foodstuffs and give to our parents; our parents are poor.

When did you come to Nigeria?

We came to Nigeria early last year.

Computers / 6 Mistakes You Must Avoid When Buying A Laptop by Djpaparazy(m): 11:00am On May 02, 2020

Even if you have used some laptops before, that doesn’t ensure that you’ll not encounter any problem while buying a new one; credit goes to the ever-changing technology. Laptop manufacturers include new features, which makes it even tougher to select the right kind of machine for you.

There are times when we end up being mesmerized by the big 4k display or some advanced features, even if we don’t need them. The primary thing that one should consider before buying a new machine is the type of tasks to be performed on it.

If you are a video editing enthusiast, then buying a laptop with lesser no: cores will surely not be the right choice. This guide is all about the mistakes that you can avoid while purchasing a new laptop and save your hard earned cash for other investments.

1. Looking for Cheap Laptops:
The market is full of a variety of laptops priced with an attractive tag. When we plan to buy a new laptop, we sometimes end up looking for some cheaper options.

Now if a computer is priced cheaply, that doesn’t mean it can handle all the process-intensive tasks. While looking for some everyday Laptops, we should always keep in mind that the model we are selecting is capable enough to handle the tasks we need to perform.

2. Ignoring the Screen-Size
Screen-Size plays a vital role, mainly if you use your laptop for a more extended period or carry it around at different places. The ideal industry screen-size of a laptop is 15.6 inches.

Although laptops like Dell XPS comes with 13.3″ display, there are some Chromebooks which packs in displays of around 11-inches.

Display plays a significant role in the portability of the laptop. The bigger screen size provides a better viewing experience but increases the weigh and makes the laptop less portable.

So, it depends on you and the type of work that you are planning to do. If you are an architect, then a laptop with a big screen might be useful for drawing with precision.

But if you are a casual user, then a standard 15.6-inches laptop will work perfectly fine.

3. Ignoring Additional Slot for RAM
RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It’s crucial for all the multitasking performed by the laptop. When we go and hunt for a new laptop, we mostly think for the present and end up ignoring the fact whether the laptop has an additional slot for storage or not.

Buying a laptop with 8GB RAM might serve your purpose for today, but in case your workload increase a little bit in the coming years, you surely have to buy a new one if it doesn’t have that additional space for system memory.

According to this post, a laptop should last somewhere around 4 to 5 years to give you the worth of money you’ve spent.

4. Paying Excessive Amount
If you get attracted to every other feature that comes out daily and wants to get a laptop which ticks every box of your wishlist, then you might end up buying something which you don’t need, and as a result of it, you’ll be spending way more than what you need to.

If you a gaming geek, then it’s wise to invest in a gaming laptop but if you buy one because it looks cool and has that RGB color keyboards, then it might burn your cash.

Always go for what you need rather than what the companies are trying to sell to you. There’s no use of buying a laptop with 2TB SSD when you can get 1TB at a half price of the laptop.

5. Ignoring Connectivity Ports
The array of ports that use to come with a laptop are decreasing day by day. Ethernet ports are removed from most notebooks, and users are mainly dependent on the Wi-Fi for connectivity.

While buying a new laptop, make sure it comes with all the ports that you need for seamless connectivity.

If you want to connect an external monitor to your laptop, then make sure it has an HDMI port, or you need to buy an additional USB to HDMI adapter for getting things done.

Most of the changes are made by taking into consideration – laptop’s portability.

Modern day users demand a light-weight and performance-pack machine at an affordable price range, which can only be possible when the company reduces the extra features not used by a wide variety of its customers.

6. Ignoring Screen Resolution
Similar to RAM and Processor, the screen size and resolution also plays an essential role in the overall quality of the laptop.

When it comes to displays, there are HD, FHD, 4K models available quickly at a pocket-friendly price range.

An HD display serves you a resolution of 1280 x 720 (or 1366 x 768 in most laptops) while the FHD offers 1920 × 1080. Talking about the 4k, you get 3840 x 2160 pixels which make an excellent viewing and computing experience.

Also, with the resolution, the type of display impacts the overall user experience.

The IPS display technology will easily let you work in outdoor conditions while the usual will get some reflections and will create a disturbance while viewing the screen.

Conclusion
At last, we would say none of the laptops is perfect to tick all the boxes of your wishlist. It’s necessary that you first take into consideration your needs with the laptop and then buy accordingly.

A decent laptop usually starts at $600 and goes up to $3000. We would only say, it’s your hard-earned cash, invest it wisely.

Phones / Five Common Mistakes You Make While Charging Your Phones by Djpaparazy(m): 8:10am On May 01, 2020
Waiting for the Battery to reach low levels before charging

Avoid waiting for your battery to reach a critically low level before charging. The effect of this on your phone battery is not immediate, but over time it begins to manifest and it eventually stresses out your phone battery (yes, batteries get stressed too) and shortens the battery life. Think of your battery as a human body, you really don’t need to wait until you’re about to die before you rest and eat to recharge yourself.

Keeping your phone case on while charging

Your phone typically emits heat when charging. To avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures, it’s advisable to remove the phone case while charging your phone so that the heat emitted from your phone while charging can escape. This way you can prevent your device from becoming hotter and potentially overheating when charging. Charging your battery at uncomfortable temperatures can permanently damage battery capacity.

Charging your phone in the wrong places

You should mind where you charge your phone, because not doing so can negatively affect your battery capacity. Phones have a temperature range they can function normally and charging your phone in a hot area can raise the temperature and stress the battery out. Also, charging your phone in especially low temperature areas, like in front of an air conditioner, can also cause problems for your battery that will eventually affect its optimum performance.

Charging your phone overnight

The least you’ll sleep throughout the night is most likely going to be between 5 to 8 hours, your smartphone battery typically only needs 2 to 3 hours to fully charge. Charging your phone overnight, constantly stresses your phone battery each night. Sooner than later, your phone is likely to have battery problems. In addition, the temperature rises when the battery is overcharged, so apart from shortening battery life, it can also threaten user’s safety in the event it quickly heats up and explodes. It’s better to charge your phone before you sleep and switch it off while sleeping to preserve the battery till the next day.

Plugging whatever charger fits

This especially applies to smartphones. Most smartphones use a micro USB for its chargers and for this reasons most people tend to switch and swap chargers since it fits into and works on their phones. However, this is not appropriate and in the long run it can negatively affect your phone battery. The fact that most smartphones have the same micro USB doesn’t mean all chargers and phones are compatible. Some chargers function differently and that difference can be detrimental to your device if care is not taken.

oyonu:
Your write up is devoid of truth & not meaning in my opinion. Why are people told to drink much water in this corona period? So that even if the corona virus gets into ur mouth, the water will flush it into your stomach where it cannot survive, as your gastric acid will burn it up. Rather advice people to adhere to government instructions rather than roost their bread and biscuit. Who does that!

Am not saying u shud not drink water.. My area of concentration is on the sachet not the water..
Sports / 8 Man United Players That Hate Paul Pogba And Reasons They Do by Djpaparazy(m): 8:00pm On Apr 30, 2020
1. Daniel James - Paul Sees me like a kid, yes I am still younger but he sees me like a kid who's not yet worthy to be associated with, he said to me "you cannot achieve what I've achieved before 30" I hate him for that but I like his style of football.

2. Nemanja Matic- Pogba is a proud man and I don't like a proud man, he is so full of himself, since he became a world cup winner he started behaving like a god in the training ground.

3. Diogo Dalot- Paul Pogba wants the team mates to worship him and if u don't do that, you become his enemy.

4. Eric Baily- Paul is a good player but pride is gonna kill his career, he doesn't accept corrections.

5. Luke shaw- Paul sees himself as a world class player, maybe he is, but just because he won the 2018 world cup doesn't mean he's better than Modric, but if u don't say he is the best then you're not his friend.

6. Fred - Paul Pogba doesn't accept that he's slow, and whenever you tell him in the pitch,"hey Paul,u delay before passing the ball" , his reply would always be, "I won the world cup being slow too".

7. Mc Tominay- Pogba use to be my very good friend but he disassociated himself with me simply because I always say Luka Modric is better.. Paul wants to be worshipped, and if you don't do that, you're not his friend.

8. Odion Ighalo - Pogba thinks I am not suppose to be in old Trafford, He doesn't want me to play there because he thinks am a threat to his baby boy martial.

Health / COVID19: This South-South State Record Three New Confirm Cases With One Death by Djpaparazy(m): 5:27pm On Apr 30, 2020
The State Government said the sad event occured within the last couple of days according to Independent News website.

Governor Udom Emmanuel made the revelation today, Thursday while giving update on COVID-19 in the state at government House, Uyo.

The new death brings to two, the total number of Akwa Ibom people who have lost their lives to COVID-19.

Emmanuel who said that the state now has six active cases, explained that the three new cases recorded were as a result of the ongoing contact tracing exercise in the state.

“On the last laboratory test we conducted on 44 suspected cases, three persons were confirmed positive, while we lost one.

“The patient we lost was a 68 year old woman who was transferred to the centre, totally unconscious. With multiple serious long outstanding comorbidity.

“And i want to use this opportunity to appeal to doctors please, whether it is COVID-19 or not, once the illness is beyond what your experience and facility can carry, seek the help of your colleagues.

“We would not accept cases of dumping any longer. A situation where you bring a patient with total unconsciousness, and few hours later, the person would just give up the ghost, we wont accept that any longer!”. He cautioned

Governor Emmanuel however reported that the state has recorded remarkable successes in terms of treatment of minor symtoms. “Our recovery rate is remarkable. Only God can help the entire world”. He added

He stressed the determination of the state government to continue to provide the state with excellent medical care, while also encouraging Akwa Ibom people to continue to follow all necessary preventative measures.

The Governor used the occasion to reiterate that passenger’s traffic remains embargoed, as ban on interstate transport services has not been lifted. Warning that anyone caught, would be detained for 14 days.

“No passenger movement. No motor park should load or offload, else we would keep you for 14 days. Except those on essential services such as medicals, foodstuffs and media,” he said.

Politics / ATTENTION: Don't Use Your Teeth To Bite Sachet Water. Instead Use This by Djpaparazy(m): 4:36pm On Apr 30, 2020
*ATTENTION!!!*

1. Don't use your teeth to bite sachet water. Instead, use scissors.

You & I do not know who has handled the water before you bought it.

Do not also drink from the sachet, pour the water into a glass or cup.

2. If you have to eat bread, it is adviseable to toast it. You do not know who and how it was handled during the packaging. Even the one selling the bread can be infected.

3. If you have to eat anything packaged such as biscuits, yoghurt, Ice cream, bottled drinks, etc., please wash the wrapper because you don't know who and how it was handled before getting to you. This is because in the supermarkets people touch things they don't really pick / buy.

4. The virus does not discriminate. It infects everybody ( Doctors, Nurses, Presidents of nations, Soldiers, Civilians etc_) and there is no known cure for now.

5. Avoid all forms of gatherings irrespective of the number of people present. It's for your own good.

*STAY HOME*

*WASH YOUR HANDS REGULARLY*

*STAY SAFE*

*PRAY TO GOD FOR PROTECTION.*

*Take care of yourself and your family.*

Celebrities / Ex-chelsea Goalkeeper Dies - Age 78 by Djpaparazy(m): 8:26pm On Apr 12, 2020
Former Chelsea and England goalkeeper Peter Bonetti has died, his former club have announced. He was 78.

Bonetti made 729 appearances for the Blues, keeping 208 clean sheets, from 1960 to 1975, with a second spell following from 1977 to 1979.

Chelsea said in a statement: “Our former goalkeeper had been suffering from long-term illness. All at Chelsea wish to send our heartfelt and deepest condolences to Peter’s family and friends.”

Bonetti was nicknamed ‘The Cat’ for his outstanding reflexes and agility.

He made his Chelsea debut as an 18-year-old, keeping a first clean sheet in March 1960.

His shutout record was only surpassed by Petr Cech in 2014, while only Ron Harris, with 795 has made more appearances for the Blues.

Harris and Bonetti were long-time team-mates, as was Bobby Tambling, who scored 202 Blues goals, a record only beaten by Frank Lampard in May 2013.

His Chelsea spells were punctuated by a brief stint in the United States with St Louis Stars. He also had spells with Dundee United and Woking.

Bonetti made seven appearances for England, including in the 1970 World Cup finals, but Gordon Banks was always preferred.

He was in the 1966 World Cup-winning squad, but did not play, belatedly receiving a winners’ medal in June 2009.

Bonetti was twice promoted to the First Division with Chelsea and won the 1964-65 League Cup, 1970 FA Cup and the Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup in 1971.

Ronaldinho will be released from jail into house arrest in Paraguay after he and his brother paid $1.6 m in bail.

The former Barcelona midfielder, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, was arrested on March 6 with his brother and business manager Roberto Assis.

They were accused of possessing adulterated Paraguayan passports with a lawyer for the pair claiming their detention was "arbitrary, abusive and illegal".

The judge said he would permit the pair to move into the Palmaroga hotel in Asuncion while they awaited their trial and will be allowed to receive visits.

The two men deposited $800,000 each into a local bank account on Tuesday.

"It's a significant bail in cash to guarantee they will not flee," judge Gustavo Amarilla said.

The former Gremio, Flamengo and Paris Saint-Germain forward last played professionally in 2015 and was the best player in the world at his peak in the early part of this century.

The 39-year-old was named FIFA World Player of the year in 2004 and 2005 and won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and the Champions League with Barcelona in 2006.
