MamaEEE:Thought it was a new application |
omopapa:Oh; I thought it is a new application o. Ya, they will ring the host. |
MamaEEE:When I say host, I mean the brother who is inviting him to the UK. There have been many refusals if the letter of invitation is vague |
ecton:Your host should write a succint letter of invitation stating the date when you will live with him and the date you will return back to Nigeria. He should also send relevant documents like tenancy agreement, his passport e.t.c. His he providing feeding? You also must provide all relevant documents Check my post on page 159 for more details. |
mmtukur:You will be told during orientation. They will email you. |
frapzkid:If you are a student with family, dont come near London. One bed flat is about 1000 pounds without bills. 2 bed flat is about 1300 pounds without bills. Where as in Manchester, Birmingham or Liverpool, you will get one bed flat for 450 and two bed flat for 600 pounds. See the massive difference. Also there are lots of jobs and little racism in Manchester, Birmingham or Liverpool. London worth it if you are working professionally. You will get extra London financial allowance to offset the living costs in London. If you are still single, you can manage London and live in shared house. But it is still expensive compared to Manchester, Birmingham or Liverpool. |
ogunsmichael:no |
yusufmurry:You will be sent an email on what to do next |
I advise you winners to create a whatsapp page so you all can command get vital info for orientation. You can connect those not in nairaland too. This is the only time WhatsApp is fullyencouraged as info on money, logistics and many more can be shared among each other. Congratulations once more. FROM DMAINMAN |
ovoP:Congratulations. Hope your state also tallies. Check your email and PTDF website regularly. PTDF will alert you on the way forward. |
SAMDEEA123:In addition to justwise advice, follow my comments on page 151 on guideline on how to budget. One golden rule is that your budget for trip must not be more than twice your monthly disposable income. Apart from salary, if you can proof that you get money regularly monthly elsewhere with prominent evidence, that can also be added to your income. Monthly disposable income is your total income you get in a month minus total expenses you spend in a month. You also need to proof how you have 1.8 million naira and 2000 usd in your account as reflected in your bank account. What evidence of business transaction? Are you also self empowered? Proof it with evidence reflecting your bank account and origin. If you receive lump sum of money, they you need to explain its origin and what will it be used for. You can also collect evidence from those who sent it. Dont forget to also attach home ties and employment phenomena. Read my comments on page 159 about this. Good luck. |

Trizadove:Follow umarwy advice. University wont give u much in depth practical applied knowledge. But if you want to travel to the UK for Sept 2020 for opportunities, note that Bachelor degree students cannot bring dependents. Only MSc and PhD What course did your spouse studied in her first degree? Some schools allow Engineering, Information Management, Business and mathematical degree for MSc Cybersecurity. Also, if your spouse has relevant work experience, she will be considered. https://www.bcu.ac.uk/courses/cyber-security-msc-2020-21 |
oikotas44:Follow umarwy advice. Go to uk website such as indeed.co.uk. Look for Tier 2 employer sponsors |
mrchemist:If your brother will provide feeding, he will need to submit his bank account. For simplicity, account for feeding which is about 20 pounds per day (140 pounds). Total budget now is: 140 plus 533 is 673 pounds. Monthly disposable income: 552,822 minus 45,000: 507822 naira. According to today Oanda currency exchange rate, this is 1,083.63 pounds. You are very much good to go. In addition dont forget to submit the following documents[/b] Proof of UK Accommodation: You will need your brother International passport and UK biometric resident permit, signed tenancy agreement and utility bill. His letter of invitation should state his address and that you will live with him. He should also state when you will travel to UK to live with him and when you will come back to Nigeria. Home ties: Letter from your company stating when you will travel to UK and when you will come back., Consent letter from your wife stating when you will travel to UK and when you will come back and family pictures and marriage certificate. Nigeria Accommodation: Utility bill or any document that shows your Nigeria address Employment: Employment letter, pay slips (your pay slip salary payment must tally with what is reflected in bank account). Letter from your company stating when you will travel to UK and when you will come back. Bank account: Maximum of 6 months. Minimum of 3 months. It is better to put a 3 months bank statement that reflects what you have stated in your visa application. However, 6 month bank statements is encouraged. OTHERS: Put other relevant documents e.g reserved flight (dont book flight o), your passport, wife passport (if she has), your land, car or property document (if you have) e.t.c |
mrchemist:In order to guide you, state your total budget for the trip. How many days do you plan to stay. Are you going to stay in your sibling accommodation? Will you be responsible for feeding? You will need consent letter from your wife stating when you will travel to UK and when you will come back and also letter from your company stating when you will travel to UK and when you will come back. Check my comments on page 151 on budget breakdown. |
kunmikool:When you have everything I said and you can demonstrate it as reflected in your bank account and with other relevant evidence. |
kolladey:In addition to what LaaJiblik told you, ensure you only look for employer who is eligible to sponsor for Tier 2. The below link will help you: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-k-shortage-occupation-list https://www.gre.ac.uk/visa/after-your-study/tier-2-visas Also, if your occupation is on shortage list, your Tier 2 visa fees will be lesser. Also, it will be much more easier to get a sponsor as the minimum annual salary theshold is reduced. If you want to obtain permanent UK residency after your Tier 2 visa has expired, you will be exempt from the £35,000 salary requirement if your job is on the shortage list. |
kunmikool:You did not show proof of your investment and how you earned the investment. Next time put evidence of business transactions and how you arrive to the amount reflected in your bank statement. How did you get the money. Proof it. Collect letter and money evidences. If you dont have any evidence, then dont state it in your application. I say it almost everytime still most are still making same mistake. Your budget must not be more than twice your disposable income. With that only, you will be rejected. Also, your planned budget is much. Check my comment on page 151 to give you an idea of budgeting. With only your employment work and reduced budget, you could have got the visa. Also, attach your employment letter, letter from your employer about your travel that you are coming back. And if married, consent letter from your wife, family pictures and marriage cert. Just calm down and build your account to reflect all what is in your proposed visa application. Good luck. |
KingsCrossing:If address in Nigeria, she should upload her rent payment evidence. If not available, her utility Bill such as NEPA bill, Lawma bill is all you need e.t.c. No need for panic. However, if address is on UK, she must upload tenancy agreement. |
Candybright:Book an hotel as you said. Try travelodge hotel. https://www.travelodge.co.uk/ Choose the hotel branch near as you said in your visa application. Choose Flexible rate only and do not include Wifi or other features as seen in the website below: "Flexible rate Cancel up until noon on arrival date These rates are still great value, but offer the most freedom to change bookings. Bookings are fully flexible and can be cancelled up until 12 noon on the day of arrival. Please note that WiFi is non-refundable.T&Cs apply" When you successfully pass the border and enter UK then you can cancel the booking online up until 12 noon on the day of arrival. Even if you miss the 12 noon deadline, only the first day booking will be charged. The remaining days booking will be refunded. Good luck |
Miele:Yes. You can book for the 29th |
FNRF:What justwise is saying is that you shouldn't state in your application that you engage in a petty business and help Nigerians in their business transaction This illegal in China and it could result to you being banned and deported from China. Therefore, only add your father or mother bank statement and tbill certificate as sponsorship. There should also be letter of sponsorship from your sponsor. Add your student status letter too and other vital documents. Good luck. |
STENON:Tell him to go to the headquarter of any commercial bank in Lagos. Particularly those in VI and Lagos Island. Request for Form A which gives payment with CBN rate. Ensure you go to the headquarter to have massive gains. Good luck. |
kayvine4u:No one can tell you with certainty whether to go or not. Getting job also depends on your skills, experience and opportunity. It also depends on your prospective course. Look for jobs with employers that sponsor for TIER 2. Is your job focus in shortage skills? You will need to do your homework yourself. |
naijaboylive:Sorry. I learnt they are verifying the studentship status of the winners to avoid non compliance of students running away or those with fake admission status. However, you are right, the delay is much. I feel your pain. |
