In the ‘skilled independent’ route of Australia, a candidate must earn a minimum of 65 points fromthe points table below, although often in practice more points than this areneeded because only the highest ranked candidates are invited to apply formigration. In June 2019 as the migration ‘program year’ drew to a close,applicants had to score at least 85 points to be invited, up from 70 points sixmonths earlier in December 2018.

A points-based immigration system could be in place two years earlier than originally planned, according to reports.

Home Secretary Priti Patel is reportedly set to tell her cabinet colleagues that Britain should implement an Australian-style system before the end of the year - to coincide with the end of Britain's transition period with the EU.

A government source told the Daily Express: "We need to deliver change and businesses need to be prepared for uncontrolled migration of low-skilled workers to end this year.

"There is a clear drive for talented and skilled workers from around the world to come to the UK, but we also need to see a reduction in the number of unskilled workers entering the UK and that's why this will be coming to an end."

The reports come as Boris Johnson called for the UK to be the "investment partner of choice" for Africa and said his government would put "people before passports".

He said: "Change is coming and our system is becoming fairer and more equal between all our global friends and partners, treating people the same, wherever they come from.

1. Is the 1.7 million naira salary deposit reflected in your bank account every month and in your employment payslip? It must be reflected and tallies.
2. 6 month bank statement is what you need unless you have a tangible reason of using one year.
3. You will also need your girlfriend UK tenancy agreement (if she is on rent) or mortgage agreement (if she is on mortgage).
4. Also add another your home tie evidence like land document, house, car, e.t.c.
5. You will need letter from employer stating the date you intend to leave Nigeria and when you will come back to Nigeria from the UK.
6. Write a succint cover letter stating why you intend to travel, how many days will you spend in the UK, the towns and cities you intend to study and breakdown of costs. Check my comments on page 151 to help you out.

I was given a 2yrs offer which included placement around DEC to resumed by Jan, but I deferred de offer to sept, requesting for a new course.

However, an offer has been given for de new course for one year and no placement attached.

The one year offer is good. You will pay lesser IHS fee. You will graduate earlier will less tension in you and you will be more focused in your studies. You will still also get PSW visa so you can look for Tier 2 job.

Placement is not automatic. You still have to look for it like job.

2020 OVERSEAS POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME UNDER PTDF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), the Federal Government agency with the mandate of developing indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Overseas MSc and PhD Scholarships to institutions under its strategic partnership initiative. Successful candidates will be awarded scholarships to study in the United Kingdom commencing in the 2020/2021 academic session.

The Scheme

Under this scheme, applicants are invited to apply through PTDF to specific programmes at the partner institutions in any of the countries (full list of sponsored courses is available on the scholarship portal scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng). The award includes the provision of flight tickets, payment of health insurance, payment of tuition and bench fees (where applicable) as well as the provision of allowances to meet the costs of accommodation and living expenses. The programmes will also include language classes to aid scholars settle into their new environments (where applicable).

Application Process

Application Forms can be obtained on the scholarship portal (scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng).

Selection Process, Criteria & Requirements

PTDF scholarships are highly competitive and only applicants who are outstanding across board are selected. A selection committee will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria;

Academic merit as evidenced by quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, other professional qualifications acquired, and relevant publications to be referenced by applicants

Membership of professional bodies

The viability of the study/research plan (PhD Applicants only).

Applicants are required to make a case for their scholarship by submitting a statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the reason(s) they want to undertake the study, the relevance of the proposed study to the oil & gas industry and its expected impact on national development (MSc Applicants only).

Requirements

MSc

A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) qualification in their first degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience

Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)

Must be computer literate

Possession of 5 O/level credits including English Language.

PhD

Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)

Must be computer literate

A minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in their first degree and a good second-degree certificate;

Must submit a research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective, methodology and mode of data collection (sample template of the proposal is available on the scholarship portal (scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng);

Applicants must also include their master’s degree project

NOTE:

Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN) before applying for the scholarship. Applicants are also expected to upload a NIN Verification Report before completing the application. The report can be obtained from www.verifyme.ng (charges may apply).

Ongoing PhD Applicants could only apply provided their Universities are among the PTDF Partnership Universities as listed above;

Applicants who have benefitted from any of the PTDF scholarships in the past cannot apply for the same category of degree, except a higher degree;

Applicants who are in possession of a higher degree cannot apply for the same type of degree;

Applicants who are beneficiaries of any other scholarship need not apply;

Applicants who successfully scale through the first round of screening will be requested to submit their transcripts; all applicants are therefore advised to prepare their transcripts for submission in anticipation of such a request.

I just found plenty schools that offer MSc Nursing scholarships in English. Starred schools in red offer Chinese Government scholarship. Check your proposed school entry requirement.

Everyone is dropping number to be added to WhatsApp group, what happened to sharing relevant information on this Naira land, which will make it useful for future applicants to be able to read through and know the process involved, some of you here , clamouring for WhatsApp group read previous posts on nairaland of some past applicants and picked one or two information, what if they did as you are doing now, will you be able to pick some of the information you benefited from them.
The only time I think WhatsApp group is beneficial is when successful applicants have been selected and when travelling is being processed .

Just go to your secondary school and ask your teacher or principal. If you dont have them, ask your Imam or Pastor. It is accepted since you are going for Bachelors degree. Goodluck

Do you have considerable work experience as some courses can consider you for Masters degree. Elaborate on your work experience.

With your Masters studies start in Sept 2020, your wife can apply as your dependant and you are also eligible for post study visa.

I think you are focused on work and not to study.

Hence, get valuable Nursing experience and be professionally registered with Nursing and Midwifery Professionals (NMCN https://www.nmcn.gov.ng/).

Acceptance letter is not mandatory for all schools, but if you can get it, it will give your application an edge because csc is competitive.

For Notorization, the notorary stamp or seal is enough, and if you have high court stamp and layers signature on it is still ok, but the main thing is the notorary stamp.

Apart from international passport, you will need other documents like previous degree certificates[notorized copy] and transcripts[notorized copy], two recommendation letters from professors, statement of purpose, any english proficiency letter [Notorized copy], Medical physical examination form (the form is available, you take to a recognise hospital for medical assesment and they fill the form for you ), some schools might require police report, so make it available, Acceptance letter from your prospective supervisor (not compulsory for all schools), soft copies of the abstract of your publications (if you dont have publications, then dont worry).

Finally, one of the major challenges applicants faces is during posting of hard copies to the school in china, [ note: not all schools needs your hard copies], sometimes, the document is sent to the wrong school cos many schools in china have almost same name eg, zheijiang university is different from zhejiang normal university, though in same province. many schools are like that......secondly, it doesnt get to the school ontime[due to nigeria factor ]. To help you solve this, as i have identified these issues, i will help you post all your documents from china, you will only need to send soft copies, it is very fast [maximum two days your document will be sent], it will get to the right address as i know many schools....finally it will be more cheaper and convinient.

1. You dont need notary. You can either use certified true copy or notary.
You are good to go. Dont forget to scan and upload the certified copy into the application system.

You only need to notarise your highest education cetificate and transcript.

With your 2.2, you can apply for Masters directly. You dont need to do Post Graduate Diploma.

Schools like University of Salford (Petroleum Engineering), University of Portsmouth (Engineering Geology ) accept 2.2 Geology degree from Masters.

There are others too. Use GOOGLE.
