If he did not genuinely win, your life is screwed.
Coldspice:
You have just sealed your life with bad luck. Tinubu actually won that election.

If there's no Niger Delta oil money, will they be focusing on nonsense?
Politics › Re: Minister Of Power Is The Worst Minister by DMerciful(m): 4:36am On Jan 28, 2024
Just say Amen unless you know in your heart he did not genuinely win
Throwback:
Can the favoured still be looking for favour?

I am no dog in a manger.

Rather, I am the one who has been dispensing favour.

Politics › Re: New Kogi Deputy Governor, Salifu Oyibo, Prostrates To Ex Gov. Yahaya Bello by DMerciful(m): 1:56am On Jan 28, 2024
Yahaya Bello elected him and not Kogi people.

Are you in Nigeria at all?
God1000:
Another puppet governor

This is not good for the people of Kogi that elected him
Business › Re: See Why The Nigeria Naira Is Rapidly Depreciating Against The Dollar by DMerciful(m): 1:45am On Jan 28, 2024
You missed the two main reasons.

1) Corruption in government

2) Incompetent leadership esp the presidency!
stevnwigw1:
Falling Oil Prices:

Nigeria is a major oil producer, and oil exports are its primary source of foreign currency earnings. When oil prices fall, the inflow of dollars into the country decreases, putting pressure on the naira's exchange rate.
Global oil prices have been declining since mid-2022 due to economic slowdowns and increased production in other countries. This has significantly impacted Nigeria's foreign currency reserves and contributed to the naira's depreciation.
2. Dollar Demand:

High import dependence: Nigeria relies heavily on imported goods, from food and machinery to fuel and consumer products. This creates a constant demand for dollars to pay for these imports.
Capital flight: Uncertainties in the Nigerian economy and rising inflation can lead to capital flight, where investors move their money out of the country, further increasing the demand for dollars and putting downward pressure on the naira.
3. Currency Policy:

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has adopted a flexible exchange rate policy, allowing the naira to fluctuate based on market demand and supply. This can lead to volatility in the exchange rate, especially when there are significant imbalances in demand and supply.
Recent attempts to clamp down on the black market for dollars through currency restrictions have had limited success and may have even exacerbated the depreciation by pushing demand toward informal channels.
4. Inflation:

Nigeria has high inflation, which erodes the purchasing power of the naira. This makes dollar-denominated assets more attractive, further increasing the demand for dollars and putting pressure on the naira.
The devaluation of the naira itself can also contribute to inflation as the cost of imported goods rises with the exchange rate.
5. Other factors:

Political instability and security concerns can also deter foreign investment and contribute to currency depreciation.
Structural challenges in the Nigerian economy, such as dependence on oil, inadequate infrastructure, and governance issues, also play a role in the naira's weakness.
It's important to note that the situation is constantly evolving, and these are just some of the key factors contributing to the depreciation of the Nigerian naira. Addressing these issues will require a comprehensive approach that tackles the underlying economic and structural challenges, while also managing currency policy and reducing reliance on oil exports.

If Tinubu did not genuinely win, you’ll not find favor for as long as he is in Aso Rock. If he genuinely won, lot me not find favour. Amen!
Throwback:
Tinubu won the highest votes and was the only candidate who was able to secure 25% votes in 2/3 of all the states and FCT that make up 37 federation units of Nigeria.

Your problem is the Igbo in you will not accept the reality that your Igbo candidate could not even measure up to a Yoruba Tinubu despite all the propaganda and help by the Buhari Presidency to ensure that Tinubu failed.
Foreign Affairs › Re: US Plans To Station Nuclear Weapons In UK As Threat Of WW3 With Russia Increases by DMerciful(m): 1:39am On Jan 28, 2024
This is a paradox considering the only country that has used nuclear weapons on civilians is the US!
Praxis758:
US is the global police.

Thank God Russia, China or the Middle Easterners are not as powerful as the US is, else, the world would have been annihilated a long time ago.

The action of buying dollars because it would rise further will make sure it happens
and accelerate the rise. Its about demand and supply
Notfogotten:
Naira moving to hit all time low of #1700 to a USD.

The present administration is clueless. Our commonwealth is being looted in USD.

Change your Naira to USD. You're losing money by keeping your assets in Naira.

Like I said you are probably not Yoruba.... it's not a matter of validation, it's a sign of respect for Elders and that shows you are well brought up.

You can wake up una Elders/ parents with slap or kicks for where you come from, we don't care... Is just the same way an Omoluabi would never understand why your people choose to call una brothers and sisters an Osu.

It's a Principle thing for a well cultured Omoluabi to knee or at least bow when greeting an Elder....We are not Westerners.
Politics › Re: FG Lines Up 140 Officials To Assess Tinubu's Ministers by DMerciful(m): 8:09pm On Jan 27, 2024
Tinubu cannot give what he doesn't have
rotadeco27:
If you ask me , I was one of the stunt oppositions to his ambition, though not obidient nor Atikulator, just want a country we could all be proud of. But he is the president now , if we actually love this country, the only thing to to is to keep agitating for good governance. He has brought up a good initiative by evaluating his ministers periodically, I think it is a right step in the right direction. If you have ever gone to some of those ministries, it is shocking the level of unproductivity going on their , some won't come to work , those ones that come occasionally will leave you seated and be gisting. If this 140 will do their job well , it will make over 1400 to swing into productive endeavors thus the end result is a win for Nigerians as a whole

In any case, both Mummyzee and Tacha are nonentities made popular by the workings of a failed country...

Tacha with her body odor that year on BBN, while Mummyzee is rewarded for waking up by 4am to cook for her husband, as if is she doesn't do it, it's someone else's duty to do it.. If her husband is snatched by street girls because she starved him, how is that anyone's problem aside hers?

Them cricify her to force her to prostrate.

What will the prostrating do for him? A renowned musician needs the validation of a small girl as you said it?
MSGAMBLE9:
You would not understand unless you are an Omoluabi.... respecting an elder is ingrained into our culture and she is a typical example of the rude ones...

We don't wake our elders with slap or kicks over here like una.
Politics › Re: FG Lines Up 140 Officials To Assess Tinubu's Ministers by DMerciful(m): 7:51pm On Jan 27, 2024
You said these things during Bubu's era. You are repeating exactly same thing while the criminal drug baron, certificate forger and mandate thief waste the country
rotadeco27:
Actions brings results. You people should at least appreciate good initiative to make things work.In the developed countries, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is the key too for check matting institutions and that is why standard and quality control are being maintained
Politics › Re: Minister Of Power Is The Worst Minister by DMerciful(m):
All these insults is an attempt to deflect. You were schooled on how a minister should hold players in their ministry accountable

Tinubu did not win. You will not find favor if Tinubu did not genuinely win that election

The Validated guy has taken you to the cleaners, accept his tutelage and learn.
aribisala0:
Expectation must be informed and educated
Unrealistic, illiterate or stupid expectations are for illiterate and jobless trolls
The expectation of the Minister of Power must be based on his mandate
What mandate does the Ministry of Power have in our law of 2024
Is it to generate power or to transmit it
?A ministry with less than 30 workers in every state?
What is its budget?
Clearly you have no clue what you are talking about

You cannot expect mangoes from an orange tree

So inform your self properly before making noise
Politics › Re: Minister Of Power Is The Worst Minister by DMerciful(m): 5:02pm On Jan 27, 2024
You're freaking shameless, calling Jonathan as the source of all Nigerians problems after almost 9yrs.

If they sold the power plants to friends like you alleged, are you saying they bought it to make losses?
aribisala0:
you are ranting ignorantly
How much is the budget of the Power Ministry. What is that money budgeted for?
There are private mobile phone companies with some competence
The communication Minister cannot claim credit
The NEPA plants were sold to friends and cronies supervised by Jonathan and Nnaji to companies with no track record. It is a done deal
The power Minister cannot do anything about it by law and he has no budget to do so
Politics › Re: Minister Of Power Is The Worst Minister by DMerciful(m): 4:59pm On Jan 27, 2024
The problem is not the ministers but the mandate thief, certificate forger and narcotics trafficker
aribisala0:
The problem is many of you talk ignorantly without informing yourself properly of either the law or reality on ground

What is the function of the Ministry of Power in your understanding?

Yes we have a power problem

The Minister of Power has no power to do anything

Based on legislation passed under Jonathan before he left office power is effectively privatised
Like Mobile Telephony
Let me quote Fashola

Since Privatization took place, one of the things that have happened is that the size of the Ministry of Power shrank significantly”.

“I think our staff strength before I came was in the region of 15,000 and all of that is now less than a thousand people

If you don't known What the legal or lawful function of the Ministry Jehovah you criticize

States can now generate and distribute
Let all the states sort themselves out

Not a supporter of Tinubu

But I believe if it was Tinubu son that was a gay
U would use that to ridicule him

More reason why political figures shield their kids and family from public.
